With the release of Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven, Part 2, I posted news that I’m working on a content update. Below, I provide more details on it and discuss plans I have for the series.

Part 2-Part 2

On Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, or the CoG forums, you may have read a list of things I am looking to add to Part 2. As I plan for the update, I have more details to share:

3 missions in chapters 6 and 7: You will be able to visit up to 3 different places:

  • A farm, where you can search and scavenge a house, barn, and other common structures on a farm.
  • A gas station in which your Driving skill will be important.
  • A research station, where you can advance your research on the Zeta virus and/or scavenge for needed items.

Each mission will require taking a few survivors from your group. Some NPCs will be mandatory additions to your group, while some will be optional. You will have chances to socialize with those survivors and enhance or worsen your relationship with them.

Conversations with all NPCs in the open-ended camp scene in chapter 6: while setting up camp in chapter 6, you’ll have the opportunity to talk to each member of your group who remains at the clearing: Church, Dante, Driver, Gina, Jillian, Kelly, Lopez, Nora, Parker, Ray, Rosie, and Reilly. These will be full conversations and even allow you to give them gifts of things you scavenge.

Rosie as a new female-female RO: readers have asked for this, so I will be adding in Rosie, the ex-bandit original member of Dillan’s gang, as a romantic option (RO). Rosie is a gay woman, and therefore will only be an RO for female main characters.

Go on the mission with Nathan/Benji/Kelly to scout in the open-ended camp scene in chapter 6. Many people want to see how Nathan died while scouting outside of camp. Once this mission is added, you will be able to go on the trip to see first-hand how it went down. Realize, this will not change the outcome. As part of a charity auction, one winner was able to create a character and choose that character’s death. Nathan is destined to die in chapter 6, but you can see how the coyotes attacked, learn what Kelly was doing while her teammate was getting attacked, and earn other details not currently in game.

Other little additions people are asking for. For example, I will add in a call from Colonel Goodman of the New Army, provide at least 1 more interaction with your RO, and add other options to existing choices as requested by readers.

Planning for Part 3

People are already asking for a timeline for Part 3. I am not willing to give out projections anymore, but those who support me on Patreon or follow on social media will be able to follow Part 3’s development and find out how it’s progressing along the way.

So, what is planned for Part 3? I don’t want to spoil the plot, but here are some certainties:

You will be able to

  • Learn about Eli and his junkyard.
  • Finally arrive at a true safe haven where you can fortify, build, and run as a community of survivors, bandits, raiders, or other archetypes.
  • Search lots of locations to scavenge and find new survivors.
  • Return to Nightfall to set up SurvNet servers, scavenge, go on missions for the New Army, and more.
  • Meet new survivors, some of whom will be ROs.
  • Meet up with characters from Parts 1 and 2 not currently in your group.

Also, many readers are speculating that the Silverthornes will be the major adversaries of Part 3. This is not true. While the Silverthornes are a serious threat (or maybe not, depending on the outcome of the first meeting with them), other groups will be met in Part 3 that will present obstacles or opportunities for your group’s survival.

And don’t forget—there’s still a zombie exodus coming.

Part 2/2 sounds great. With all the chaos of part 1 and all the uncertainty/confusion in the group in part 2 it will be nice to have more time socialising with individuals. Would it be fair to add some socialising during watch duty (assuming shifts are shared)?

jimdattilo

I hadn’t thought of socializing during watch duty. I can add it to the wishlist.

Barry Watson

Yeah, was just thinking with all that time to kill it may force people to start mindlessly blabbering on about the most random of topics 😂

With the Rosie romance is it possible to have it happen with a male protagonist if you have a high affection with her

jimdattilo

For Rosie, I think it is important to maintain her orientation as she represents other gay women. I will have other characters who have varying sexualities though.

That’s a shame but understandable but also true you can’t change someone from who they are by just wanting them to. Thanks for answering

Joshua Hyuen

Will we be able to attack the Sliverthrones? Or is this the last we will see of them?

jimdattilo

Yes, in Part 3, there will be interactions. They won't be the only threat.

Joshua Hyuen

Looking forward to that. Would you recommend adding defenses in the camp or does that not change the outcome?

Joshua Hyuen

In my opinion there should be some heterosexual only NPCs, just for the realism.

Rob F

I'm thrilled to see the research lab and now hopefully socializing during watch duty. I think those would have been my top 2 if I was someone who made direct requests. haha

Joshua Hyuen

I hope we meet a scientist and get the option to bring him in as a group member, a scientist would really help anyway.

Charles Dizon

Mr.jim should i restart from the very beginning in part 1 to see the new updates in part 2.2 or continue part 2.2 right away?

Rob F

You just reminded me of the last guy at the CDC in the first season of TWD.

jimdattilo

Mia submitted the research lab. It's awesome. I'm writing watch duty scenes. I admit, writing for Heart's Choice is making me want to turn ZESH into a Mature game.

Rob F

Haha, I'm getting those kind of requests privately for 3D... I imagine immersing yourself in a genre would color everything in that way. Like binge-watching a season of Dexter would make me evaluate everyone around me as to whether the world would be better off without them. Anyways, I think you're a master of vaguely-worded PG-13 "activities", and I'm completely fine with the ratio of romance to story as it is. I wouldn't *mind more romance, but I'd want to keep it at about the same ratio of content as it is now.

Rob F

If an app's content is too porny, it can't be hosted on most big systems like Apple Store and Steam.

Will there be a Rachel RO or nah
