I know there's been a whole lot of radio silence while I tinker away,  so I'd just like to take this chance to thank everyone for their patience.  <3

as for what's been happening, this is all I've got to show off for now. this is an early demo of how I'm planning encounters to work.

What works?  HP counters (kinda, no deaths yet) attacks, damage/recoil, armor, hit/dodge math, turn counters, initiative, stamina, skill load-outs, skill randomizer, animation framework + idle stance overrides & individual unit/targeting setup with room for multiple fights on screen at once

What doesnt work? 

  • The HUD. A lot of the information is bland numbers or worse, completely hidden in console-prints that none of you can see.. I'll be adding a graphic for hit/crit/glance/miss rolls soon, because thats one thing that makes absolutely no sense right here
  • Stamina drain. right now, slow cube tanks everything you've got and pummels green as stam drops. yes, I want to open up that playstyle, but I've still got some more math to cram in there for basic balance's sake
  • General balancing. not a concern until everything is functional, but worth mentioning that errfing be imba rn.
  • Skill Autonomy. Skills are randomized, but motives are disabled for now. (like angry moods making you more aggressive and low stamina boosting the odds of resting)
  • HP. the number there is just a counter without any triggers. but in the future, someone's healthbar drops to zero and that character becomes downed. from there, they begin to heal back up, while attacks on them damage their max-hp and inflict wound debuffs. combat continues until the enemy is worn down slowly. good chance I'll be adding either whole-new downed skills or tack on sub-effects to skills.

anyway.. long way to go yet ~ so I'll get back to it :)

flash simply cant handle full-live-action. we all need to come to terms with that. :'(
