It’s officially the holidays around here! We’ve put up the big stuff (think trees, garlands, lights), lit our first fire in our hearth, and watched the original Grinch cartoon. If that’s not an official holiday kick-off, I don’t know what is 😉 Have you done anything to get into the holiday spirit or is it still *too soon* for your tastes? No wrong answers!

Here’s what’s what this week in the WWC:

  1. The Wine & Dine series continues on YouTube this week with my 5K race experience and a lovely couple of hours spent at Disney Springs. You get early access here 24 hours early as per usual on Wednesday.
  2. I’ve got my sights set on sprucing up the dining room in anticipation of Thanksgiving, so our community exclusive video on Friday will focus on that. Let’s see if we can perk up that space a little!
  3. We had our monthly charity draw and sent $532 (and a bit extra) to Sakhi. If you have a charity you’d like me to add to the jar, feel free to leave a comment below or send me a message.
  4. I’m excited to send holiday cards again this year! Please fill out this form if you’d like to receive a card from me. Please make sure to follow the directions as best as possible on the form as I’m hoping to streamline my envelope addressing with a mail merge this year. Wish me luck on that! 🤪 The deadline to fill out the form if you’re interested is November 27, so don’t delay if you want to be on the holiday card list! 💌
  5. Just a friendly reminder I am doing Vlogmas again this December, which includes an additional weekly vlog all month long in addition the our usual schedule. I can’t wait to share this holiday season with you!

Whew! That felt like a lot to share. I am, as always, so, so grateful to be here with you in our cozy community. Connecting with you here is my absolute favorite! Thank you for being a part of this with me. Much love you all!

❤️, Jen

As an Australian I’ve never celebrated Thanksgiving but have always thought it looks so beautiful and cosy and lovely. Obviously there is a lot more behind it than that and I think that’s what many people are starting to lean away from these days, the actual origins of it. But I’ve often thought of having a similar dinner with family and friends to just gather and talk about what we are grateful for. I love that aspect of it.

I agree - the modern concept is lovely....but it's just too tied into the date and origin style to truly ever separate it. I vote we nix the holiday altogether and make a new one just for gratitude at a different time of year. But I doubt most anyone will go for that 🤷‍♀️

Aww bummer, I missed the window to request a holiday card. Happy Holidays to you Jen!
