UPDATED Weekly Update | April 12 (Patreon)

** I had to remove yesterday’s post, because I received communication from Patreon today that I can in no way, shape, or form host a giveaway for patrons, on or off the platform. While I am super bummed about this, I am not going to do anything that might risk losing this community. Hence the updated update complete with a short clip at the beginning explaining what has happened and the original video with the giveaway part cut out. **

Hello, Wonderers! Welcome to the weekly update. I’m just squeezing in this video in the final hour here on Monday, determined as ever to get on a schedule with you. Which brings me to…

1. This week’s schedule includes this update, Wednesday’s YouTube video (my first Q&A in over a year!), and Friday’s WWC exclusive video (A Spring Refresh! SO excited to dive right in with you this month). I’m hoping to stick to this schedule, while leaving myself some grace for exceptions. Just know that schedule or not, I am super, super excited to be sharing and connecting with you here. I will be here consistently and well, pretty much all the time, because I just love this community so much 🤍

2. Today I drew charity picks from the jar for both March and April, since Patreon sent me one payment for both months last week. I split it down the middle and rounded up a bit. Charities drawn were:

- Donor’s Choose which allows teachers to submit requests from donors to fund certain projects, needed equipment, or classroom experiences. As a donor you get to choose which classrooms to donate to, which is neat because the teachers share more about their projects and what they’re hoping to do with the funds. We donated to 5 classrooms across the US! ($360)

- Ronald McDonald House which strives to help support families in need. We designated our contribution to “support displaced ill and injured children and their families impacted by the crisis in Ukraine.” ($360)

3. As mentioned above, I have been informed that I am not allowed to host community giveaways on Patreon or even through a secondary site if it’s only accessible to patrons. This is a big bummer as I was really looking forward to doing so, but rules are rules and there’s nothing I can do about that.

I forgot to mention in the video that I was hoping to host my April live this weekend. I'm thinking Saturday am. I realize it’s a holiday weekend though. Thoughts? Let me know in the comments! And please keep sharing your charity suggestions with me and I will add them to the jar.
