I still remember the first time I saw this episode back in 06. It's one of those that you love for the high and low moments. I hated that we lost Ellie in this episode but, it made sense for the story and enhanced the message they had of grab life while you can. Also as we find with the show, Peyton can't be allowed to be happy for long.
