Your reaction to this was so good! I think the main issue of Simon and Wilhelm that they are worried about is how the monarchy will expect Wilhelm to marry a woman to keep the royal bloodline going. I think this is why it's such a big deal. Plus with him being a crown prince at 16 there is so much pressure on him to do what is expected of him.

Lucia is quite an odd tradition. We celebrate it here in sweden every year on the 13th of December and usually a girl in every school is choosen to be the Lucia who walks Infront och the rest of the choir. I think the tradition is based on a woman from Italy called Lucia who got her hair put on fire and her belly sliced( hence the candles in the hair and the red sash)
