I haven't seen this show in years, and stopped watch sometime mid-s3... But this is one of my FAVORITE episode. Ugh poor fucking Giles.

The episode where this show finally lets you know: shits getting real. Easily one of the best eps of the series, and the beginning of the whole “Joss Whedon just wants to hurt us” thing that he’s so well known for in all his shows. This episode tells us that NO ONE is safe 😱🥺😭😅

What really elevates this episode for me is that it doesn't rely on the shock value of her death. Whether you're completely blindsided by Angelus snapping her neck or you could see it coming, it's the event that kicks off the even more harrowing third act. Her death is not the climax itself like it is in most shows. There's even bigger shit coming, so you don't feel safe for the rest of the episode.

Ahhh, here we go. For me, Surprise and Innocence was the start of the show taking a huge turn, and then Passion just cements it in place. Boom. SUCH a good episode. So heartbreaking, but also some great lines, too

I'm so hyped for 21&22 when they come, and I reeeeally hope you'll do them back to back and release close together, as its an awesome 2-parter to end the season :D eep! just a couple more episodes to go!

completely agree, other shows would have ended with her death as a kind of cliff hanger, but Joss takes it one step further with the "drama" and "art" Angelus sets up in Giles' apartment, all their reactions, Giles going out for revenge, and him and Buffy having their moment... I also love the musical score, and the monologue Angelus says at the beginning and end.

The way Jenny's lifeless body slide off Angels arms to the floor is hauntingly creepy in the way great dead acting by Jenny. Or from Angels evil world it was beautifully how she slide to the floor and made that thumping drop. I re acted out the whole Angel speech with my voice for Instagram. I was saving this to say for when I start my re watch for Buffyverse Angelverse but that music played for Jenny n Giles called Remembering Jenny by Christophe Beck well the vocals humming is actually Giles for this episode I saw the studio behind the scenes recording they did and the song Slayers Elegy same album which you'll hear in season 3 is another Scooby humming but I won't say who but 😭 biggest tears yet to come mate. We enjoy our Buffyverse Angelverse because we do and one of the factors is... Sadly but beautifully done it isn't afraid to kill of everyone important you think WOULD NEVER EVER EVER die. The Giles bad was acting a 2x4 wasn't it. Can't wait to see your reaction to someone naked in episode coming up lol I've always enjoy enjoy enjoy the music in this universe because it's the symphony type of music without words it could be dark creepy beautiful awe type of music you really just don't see in today's shows I mean the music in Buffya room with the knocking haunting is so good that the only place I ever heard something as good as that was begging credits of the movie Resident Evil Afterlife music called Tokyo I think but I happen to watch the movie in a theater where the money was spent on great surroundsound and man I was hauntingly good even online it was very popular opening scene for a resident evil movie. the music here in this universe stays good Ottaway through Angel . I remember when I first saw this episode years ago I always thought Willow would be the one to die and actually want it that but in the brutal way like Angelwood hold her down and start tearing off her neck with his hands and willows arts will be waving around animated like as she died in the low lit alley but I do like my shows dark like DC universe #ReleaseTheSnyderCut it's dark as necks snapping ..
