Really enjoyed this reaction, it was great to see you siding with Rachel for once! The guest star was Kristen Chenoweth btw. She's a huge Broadway legend, so I just know you'll get so much hate when this reaction comes out on YouTube for saying that her performances were nothing special 😂

The first season does seem to drag a little at first haha but it'll pick up. Kristen Chenoweth is a really big Broadway star, I mean pretty huge (Glinda in Wicked), I'm personally a big fan of her voice, but then I am a big Broadway fan as well. However, yeah the character of April Rhodes is kinda hard to enjoy at first. She doesn't return often, but her plot lines are small and episodic so don't worry about her haha personally Rachel and Finn were both in the wrong for me. Rachel shouldn't have expected anything to happen with Finn because regardless of the baby, Finn is still dating Quinn. Finn was being a manipulative bitch though.

idk i feel bad when you guys are insulting Rachel's voice, cause that's also Lea Michelle's voice, and i find her to be an amazing singer. Maybe Rachel's voice just sounds bad to you cause you're relating it to the character? You should check out Lea's music in your own time and see if you find her better when it's not related to glee lol. Of course it could just be preference but to say she's a /horrible/ singer is a bit much.

The reason why April is even a character is because of Kristen Chenoweth. She’s a Broadway legend who’s appearance on the show paved the way for future guest stars and gave the show more credibility.

Oh critically speaking yes she has a great voice, maybe it's the way it's ADR''d in, it sounds off and like it doesn't suit a scene sometimes. I think it's more that everyone in the show obsesses over her voice when there are other great voices there too. No offence meant to the actress Lea, I know she's wonderful anyway, loved her in Scream Queens

Yup honestly there are going to be musical theatre kid references, like having Kristen Chenoweth, that are going to go right over your heads, but no one should hate on you for it the show needs to work for the insiders and the casual viewers. When I first saw this episode I thought, "Holy shit, they got Chenoweth in ep 5. They've got clout." BUT I also thought her character was a weird choice that felt like a huge fucking waste of talent especially for a one episode guest star role. So. I get where you guys are coming from and agree with you. There will be recognizable guest stars later, and people will fill you in on the reference you miss. Also, I personally prefer the episodes that go over the top with a theme, like a whole episode on one artists music, or one musical or guilty pleasure songs. I feel like those more heightened themes really kick off in the next episode. So hopefully that will be more fun. Though I'm happy to see you continue making fun of the show, I think that's what most people wanted, cause otherwise I'm not sure why it won the poll...I certainly didn't vote for it.

it really does get better. i never realized how bad some of the first season was compared to the second season. the second season has some of the best episodes in the series, and most iconic songs, imo. the characters really start to develop as the show goes on, and all of the other glee members get way more screen time as well. its a really sweet show, and i hope you continue it—at least until the third season. really enjoyed this reaction btw!!

Y'all can't give up on this show before season 2, it's when the two best characters in the entire series start to get more screentime. And season 1 is pretty bad in my opinion because it's way too focused on Rachel and Will, and while I do understand why cause they are the main characters, no one really likes them, which is why seasons 2 and 3 were so successful: Cause they gave some background characters the opportunity to shine and they did.

haha it's true that those first episodes are really not great. But honestly there is a lot to defend about this show even if it's far from perfect. It's incredibly over the top, silly and can seem naive but it's super sweet and does share great messages on tolerance and friendship and all that stuff. And it's actually really enjoyable to watch and much less cringe from season 2 in my opinion. The musical numbers get so so much better too <3 they do great takes on beautiful songs .
