Because American shows tend to make the foreign characters so ridiculously stereotypical, just to reeaally hammer the 'this character is foreign, guys!' point home. I usually can't handle it when American shows add Australian characters for this reason -it's always way too cringey.

i don't love him, just think he's more interesting than most love interests. Also the show has never clarified his age so pedophile is a stretch, also every character on this show is a cheater, all the liars have pretty much cheated so, does that matter with this show anymore aha
