At the end of the last episode when Meliorn said that the portal would lead Jace and Clary to Clary's father, it actually did. As "Michael" was Valentine in disguise.

i am of the minority who actually adore Simon and Clary. Idk, I feel like the actors and characters just have more chemistry. And I love childhood friends who fall in love. Idk their love always seemed more realistic to me. Clary and Jace just aren't my otp, they really only focus on each other and abandon others for one another. They don't know how to balance it all and their scenes always feel awkward to me, even before this reveal lol. But yeah, incest...feels like a common thing in shows nowadays. Hey, at least they didn't have sex, though! haha. I actually loved this episode, mainly because it was the episode where I started to love Jace, but i can understand why the trial thing is annoying. I personally loved that plot. It showed just how much the clave is desperate to blame others for things. And Valentine wants more than the cup, that's not his real goal. Like it is, but he's clearly a smart guy. Like you said, he could've gotten it if he wanted, but he had more in mind. Also, agreed, this episode showed the adorable relationship Alec and Izzy have. I love their sibling love. Probably my favorite relationship on the show.

I personally loved all the trial stuff, Magnus was great. Lydia showed that she wasn't all that bad/hard. Jace and Clary being siblings was something I already knew going into the series sadly, so it kind of put a damper on my feelings towards that ship LMAO. Anyways, no surprise here but my favourite part of the episode is the Magnus/Alec interactions, the same for every episode, ESPECIALLY next.

Wow I was excited for you to find out they are actually brother and sister!! And I really feel for both of them because they didn’t know and this big news will be a huge struggle for them. This wasn’t the strongest episode but it wasn’t the worst. You’re almost to season 2 now!!
