I always feel like they only did this storyline to get rid of her dogs so they wouldn't need all those dogs on set any time they were at robins place haha

They got rid of the dogs because Teds actor was actually really allergic to them, which became a big problem when Ted and Robin began dating. I think that might also be the background of the dogs turn into human stuff in this episode
