Branching Out (Patreon)

I thought you may like to know in advance of next weeks Mingles video that I'm testing the idea of branching out to video hosting services that aren't YouTube.  A number of you recommended Vid.me, so I'm giving them a try.  I've uploaded a couple of my most-viewed videos to their service and I'm applying for verification right now.  I plan to upload everything I do to both YouTube and Vid.me from now on, so you can choose where to get your daily dose of Jingles.

Fuck me, it's rather depressing listening to Mingles with Jingles Episode 221. You just wasted your money on that new pc. What you needed was a 6 or 8 core cpu, not another 4 core :|

I disagree. Unless software has been written to use more than a single core, the numbers of cores is irrelevant and its the GPU that's more important. The 1080 is a good buy, as is the add on card for streaming, though NVIDIA now has good software for streaming as part of the driver software (GeForce Experience if I recall correctly). The fastest CPU and the biggest GPU you can afford is the what I'd recommend, depending on your budget. If it was me I'd have gone with a PC built by Scan.co.uk (no I don't have any affiliation with them, in case you are wondering) as they are pretty much the experts on building rigs for specific uses.

If he does have a technically inclined friend, or just some time, Jingles could attempt to setup the 'now-older' machine as a dedicated capture-stream machine so he definitely wouldn't run into problems with lack of horsepower.

That sounds like a good idea - having a decent PC sitting around 'just in case' seems a waste to me.

I wanted to recommend that, too. Also, Jingles, if you ever need someone to help you choosing your parts for upgrading your rig, you can ask us. I as a gamer and IT-student am well-informed about the latest 2-3 gens of PC-parts, so I would offer my help in choosing parts.

Still no sign of Jingles in Patreon Land. Rumour has it he has gone back to YouTube Land and is not coming back anytime soon. If you come across him on the Dark Side (YouTube Land where thieves and rascals abound) kidnap him and bring him back to Patreon Land where he can receive the proper medical help he is clearly in need of. Those rascals on the Dark Side have been messing with his head again, poor soul!
