Material Procurement
After finishing the investigation of the necessary materials, we returned to the Trade Guild and asked Alizée how much we would be able to buy.
The result was that most of the materials are difficult to obtain.
The bones of the Metal Giant can be procured in a nearby dungeon, so they are relatively easier to acquire.
But for the other materials, it seems to be quite challenging.
The alternative suggestion was for us to personally gather the materials ourselves.

"Is that really okay?"

"As a Copper Rank merchant, even you, Lady Lily, can't be permitted to go alone. However, the Wildcat Claws members are Red-ranked adventurers. In that case, you can also submit a material gathering request from the Trade Guild. It's obligatory for guild supervisors to accompany you on the procurement, and I will take care of that. If Lady Lily accompanies as a designated requester from the Trade Guild, that should work."

I see.
So the Wildcat Claws will go around gathering materials as a request from the Trade Guild.
And I will accompany them as the requester.
As expected of Alizée, she's quite smart.

"However, if you are going to gather that much monster material, you will need a means of transportation."

"Is my backpack not enough?”

"The Gaya Tortoise is larger than you. Are you suggesting bringing back such a huge monster shell on your back?”

Yes, that was thoughtless of me.
We settled that the Trade Guild will arrange transportation as well.
However, since it seems this will be a large-scale material gathering expedition, they intend to prepare a large vehicle.
It will take about a week to borrow, so we can continue our daily activities until then.
Anyway, let's start by submitting the designated request for Wildcat Claws to accompany me as guards and the Trade Guild's material gathering request to the Adventurers' Guild.

Around noon, at around 3 in the afternoon, the Adventurers' Guild was quite empty.
It seemed too early for adventurers to return from their day's quests to report.
Naturally, we stood out at such a time.
It had been a while since I visited the Adventurers' Guild, and I had forgotten about the presence of the annoying man.

"Oh, it's you! You finally made your way to the Adventurers' Guild!"

"You again? Can't you just give up already?"

"Lady Lily, who's this?"

"He's a persistent guy who keeps pestering me to form a party. He's been bothering me since the day I reached Green Rank."

"Seemingly having remained at Green Rank for the past few years."

"I see. Should I chase him away?"

"It might be a hassle, but please, Keuko."

Upon my request, Keuko approached the man.
Although he was around the same age as her, it seems he felt quite overwhelmed by Keuko, who clearly had better equipped.

"W-What's the deal with you? What do you want?"

"I am Lady Lily's guard. If there's a suspicious man persistently bothering Lady Lily, wouldn't it be natural for me to eliminate him?"

"A guard? That lass is but a Green-ranked adventurer, isn't she? Why would someone like that need a guard?"

"Lady Lily is not only a Green-ranked adventurer but also a Copper-ranked merchant. It's not unreasonable for a Copper Rank merchant to hire their own guard."

"A Copper Rank merchant!? That lass!?"

"Yeah, that's right. Do you have a problem with that?"

"If she's a Copper-ranked merchant, then hire me as a guard too!"

"What are you talking about? You're just a Green-ranked adventurer, aren't you? We're Red-ranked adventurers. We don't need deadweight. If you don't want to be forcibly removed, leave quickly!"

With Keuko's sharp reprimand, the man seemed to lose his composure.
He awkwardly crawled backward, retreating to the wall.
Oh, I just realized the entrance is behind us, so he can't escape.

"Keuko, let's finish our business here."

"Yes. If you've realized your place, don't come near us again."

I hope this will keep that man quiet.

When we went to the Adventurers' Guild's reception to submit the request, it seemed like they had overheard the previous conversation and were quite disappointed.
It turns out that I was considered a promising newcomer by the Adventurers' Guild.

I had achieved outstanding results in the test to reach the Green Rank and showed a solid mindset.
While other adventurers were all showy, I stood out for being polite.
It’s apparently also because I own a Magic Bag that can carry a large amount of baggage and am a skilled Tamer with a capable Familiar.

They even went so far as to suggest, "Why not continue adventuring alongside your merchant work?" But when I explained that gathering materials and magic stones while performing adventurer tasks was tough, the receptionist’s shoulders slumped.

Right now, since I'm working with Red-ranked adventurers, submitting materials and magic stones won't increase the points required for promotion.
Although I should be able to manage alone as a Blue Rank, the Trade Guild can't overlook losing me just because I didn’t have guards.
Well, just let it go.
