Hey everyone,
Time for a new dev update.
Now that the last UE4 release is done, we are moving forward with the UE5 update and all that comes along with that. Level department is already cleaning up and removing old deprecated levels and assets and code is preparing all areas for the move. It will be a long road ahead of us but we are looking forward to the end result.
Level: Level is busy starting the cleanup process for our maps and assets. As mentioned in a previous post, this means that we are removing the Demo-level from the game so the next release will no longer feature that map. Additionally we are continuing to polish the Umbar houses.
Code: Preparing the move to UE5.
Character: The Blackwing model is finished and it looks mighty! We started the rigging process for the Gobbler creature so it will be reaching the animation department early next week. We are also happy to announce that we have begun to update old hairstyles with the help of an amazingly skilled freelancer.
Animations: Something very exciting happened this week, we had our first Mocap recording session with the talented team over at OnPoint studios. The goal was to get several animations for NPC routine activities, idles and some extra spice - sexy dances. In the coming weeks we will need to process this data to pick the best parts to clean up and transfer to our character rigs.
Design: Our designers focussed this week on reviewing our combat system designs with the additional help of an external consultant.
