Patreon Story Update #6 - Yterra (Patreon)

Welcome travelers!

We have been working on the game’s setting, lore and story for quite a while now and it is time we present it to you.

We will not spoil the main plot of the game with these, but spoilers concerning the setting and backstory are inevitable. So if you prefer to explore the world completely un-spoilered once the game is done, do not read any further!

Yterra
Lizard city

Deep in the desert, half buried by shifting sands, lies the gigantic wreck of a freighter. When it crashed on Kerpal, many generations ago, it left countless humans stranded on this alien planet, scattered in their rescue pods all over the continent. Eventually, this event would lead to the great war between the planet’s native lizard people and the stranded humans, which ended with the lizards being driven from the north and into the desert.

Immune to the scorching heat and well-experienced in traversing its hostile terrain, the bravest of them were quick to investigate the towering wreck and found it a prime location to establish a new city - Yterra.

Nowadays, Yterra has grown into their new capital and center of lizard civilization, under the guidance of the enigmatic lizard queen. The few humans who have seen the city with their own eyes tell of buildings artfully carved from the rock around the wreck and of a lush, artificial oasis, fiercely guarded by the queen’s elite warriors.

Yterran priests, easily distinguished by their elaborate robes, oversee the activities of the city, faithfully relaying their queen’s orders to the rest of the lizard population - not only here, in the capital, but all the way out to the old Gate City of Adûn.
