Good evening dear Patrons!
Its time for another update. We want to recap briefly how far we are with the January build, what’s done, what’s in progress, and what will come in a later build:
As we’ve mentioned in numerous previous posts the builds you know from last year were a basic technical prototyping version. The actual game development started right after- and with the success of said prototype and our patreon campaign. You surely have noticed yourselves that those builds were lacking crucial interactivity that you would expect in any game. Things like npcs with an AI capable of at least basic tasks, an actual quest system that could communicate a story through versatile quests, a dialogue system to properly narrate the story that we want to tell with this game, a sex system that feels rewarding and immersive.. and sexy, a combat system, an inventory and an item system with items with different functionality, a working save/load button, a proper world design, more npcs, more playable characters, more video and sound settings, performance optimization, etc. etc.
So here we are, almost done with the first version of plenty of development builds to come. We have spent lots of time working on a few of the bigger tasks mentioned that are required for a game to be called a game:
NPC AI - right now it already has basic functionality and we have built it in a way where we will easily be able to extend its features as we need.
Quest System - this one is pretty cool already. Our programmer has done an awesome job to design this system in a way where it will be nicely scalable to make really complicated quests of very different types. And to design, implement and extend questlines with relative ease.
Dialogue System - already is able to properly implement non-linear dialogue sequences and reads the quest states of npcs. We still have to test how well we can scale the dialogue content once npcs have dozens or hundreds of lines of dialogue throughout the story.
Item System - Also quite far, our item system features several different item types like weapons, food, apparel, utility, quest based item, etc. Its been designed with future scalability in mind.
Sex System - this is still deeply in production and will surely grow with the amount of content and detail we want to introduce in our adult content.
These are the key aspects we will implement in this first release for 2018. It wont be much in terms of content and probably wont look as pretty as the previous stuff, but it will hopefully work as a proof that the basic functionality of our game is already in good hands and will only get better over the months to come.
As a rough ETA we'd say the release will happen around the 28th this month.
