Adele stars a young woman living alone in Humber City, which is being terrorised by a serial killer who invades homes and strangles women to death. After getting home after a long day, Adele relaxes by taking her shoes off and giving her sore feet a foot rub. The phone rings and it's her friend, just checking in on Adele to make sure she is okay. Adele reassures her and goes back to reading her paper.

A trash can is knocked over in the alley outside and Adele looks up, startled. Perhaps if she wasn't so distracted she would have sensed the killer sneak in behind her. Perhaps she would have sensed the rope tightening in his hand. But the first she knows of the danger is the strangler's rope being cast over her head and tightening around her neck.

Adele thrashes around in her seat, desperately trying to break free from the killer's grasp. The woman struggles to breathe as the City Strangler chokes her. Her eyes bulge and her tongue lolls from her mouth as she gasps for air. In the struggle, her feet thrash and writhe.  Adele's eyes well up with tears as death closes in on her, slowly dying by being choked and strangled. As death finally takes her, Adele slumps on her sofa, eyes wide open, tongue protruding - another victim of the City Strangler.
