Yesterday I packed Noodle in a box and shipped him to the European Space Agency. This felt as fancy as it did horrible, as I had to dismantle and freight my child in a brown box >.<

The reason for this is that I begin an artist residency at ESA's Robotics Facility (ESTEC) on Tuesday for the month of June. The residency was granted through ARS Electronica and you can read more about the concept / philosophy behind my proposal here:

(SO EXCITED) While abroad, I will continue development of my very serious nonsense involving tasting appendages, all while acquiring feedback and insight from the engineers and scientists who work there. If you're curious what this involves, check out my recent videos introducing this body of work!

Needless to say, this is like some sort of dream. I'm nauseous with excitement- but anxious over the traveling and nuance in regard to the unknown. As of now, my bags are packed... I leave tomorrow and will be reunited with Noodle on Tuesday in Noordwijk, Holland. =]

My goal is that Noodle be a creature of the world that I collaborate on in many different places. I hope my progress at ESTEC is but the first of many endeavors to help my child grow up big, strong, and ready to achieve great things... (like doing uncomfortable things in space).

I apologize for the lack of communication lately. The year so far has flown by in preparation for this adventure. Know that I appreciate your continued support. It never goes un-noticed! You are Noodle's God-parents!!! <3 <3 <3

I send love! Wish me luck in the coming weeks. I will try to post about my adventure as its happening!
