Val is a rogue I made for a D&D campaign I got to play in. And while the campaign ended up being an absolute trash fire, I still have a new character from it that I love.

TLDR for Val. She's an aasimar rogue that participated in a small team of heroes that was trying to stop a literal apocalypse. She grew up with a lot of religious trauma because the local nobility tried to forge her into a political/religious symbol to use for power. One day as a young kid, she sneaks out into the town she was never allowed to explore alone, but is attacked by some dark, shadowy monster that left her scarred and... infected? The local church couldn't find a cure, and over the years the infection began to slowly spread as a visible scar across her upper chest and neck. Realizing she was now basically a defective symbol at best, she decided to leave her hometown and snuck out forever.

Over the course of the actual game, the party Paladin eventually was able to break through her prickly exterior and gain her trust and affection. It was basically like one of those feral cat videos you see on YouTube where relentless gentleness and kindness does the trick. So now Val has a super healthy relationship with someone, but she's forever a tease because her switchy brat streak is a mile wide. In this doodle, she's stolen a tunic from her pally and is trying to bait him in to fun time.

It is just a sketch, and probably won't ever be anything more, but since I do have more doodles of her in more precarious states of dress (and undress) I figured I'd also share those here :)

The Phoenix King

Great character concept and design, well done!
