Thank you Stephanie! It is absolutely, as you said “Magical “. Wonderful choice of wall paper!

Anonymous

Who ever imagined we could get soo excited about a loo but we sure are- wonderful and many many blessings and joy to all LaLanders be they living there or virtual

Anonymous

Wow…….wow……wow…….how absolutely beautiful…… well done and ‘enjoy’ xx

Anonymous

Oh and look who is going to Argentina!😊👍❤️

Anonymous

I love it! I always love to use a patterned wallpaper but after 4 weeks I have to take it off again 🙃

Anonymous

I cracked up when your uncle said "wafty wafty" hahaha

Denise Behrends

You managed to blend artistry and luxury, creating the effect of stepping into a glamorous scene within a painting.

Anonymous

Very pretty results here! Btw, did I miss the new flooring??

Anonymous

Holy Shyte...😳😏 maybe I should say holy bejeweled shyte?! Lol 🤣😂.so happy it's done! Now I can come and visit. I was holding off for a proper loo.. nothing to do with covid... 😉 thanks Amaury and gang!

Anonymous

sooo pleased to hear Amaury and Nati going away for proper holiday and you Steph and Philip soon we hope xxxx

Anonymous

Wow, the wallpaper is beautiful! Hope to visit the loo in person someday. 😊🥰

Anonymous

The downstairs loo has been like the proverbial stone at the bottom of your shoe! So glad for you that it’s done…and it looks great. Action man Amaury. Wish both Nati & Amaury a great holiday!

Anonymous

This may be a really stupid question, but are you repainting and guilding the panelling? Love it as it is with it showing the years but obviously it’s very worn. Just wondering what look you will go for

Anonymous

The toilet is impressive and I’m in love with the wallpaper! Where is it from? 🙏🥰

thechateaudiaries

No, they’re very different people, with different approaches and techniques. Both are lovely, but Amaury was able to finish where Selmar couldn’t, because he was able to do the coving himself. And sadly Selmar can’t get back to celebrate the reveal with us because of restrictions - he and Tatyana were supposed to join us for New Year’s Eve

Anonymous

What a joy for you all to be part of such a talented, hard-working, kind and fun-loving bunch!

thechateaudiaries

Selmar made the flooring a few months ago, and it was an extraordinary labor of love. He chiseled down existing stone slabs and it looks as though they’ve been there forever!

Anonymous

Its going to be AMAZING!!!!

Anonymous

The loo looks amazing and the grande salon will look stunning. Very exciting! Amaury is very talented indeed. What a lovely, satisfying and historic project to be able to work on. Can’t wait to see the result xxx

Anonymous

Brilliant it all looks amazing ! The toilet is finished well done xx Have a great time Nati & Amaury. X

Anonymous

Oh Amaury is so clever! Really tremendous work... he absolutely deserves a holiday 👏.. as do you all! Love from Italy 🥰

Anonymous

Love the paneling but I still think It would look better with the small pieces added and the bigger pieces cut… but I am sure Amaury has his opinion and he knows what would look best … cannot wait to see the finished room , thx for the update❤️

Anonymous

Yay for the loo! Q for the LaLande crew - where did you get the amazing wallpapers for the loo and the entrance hall? Ive looked at Degournay but I don’t see the right ones there. They are simply lovely!

Anonymous

Lovely vlog! The Firestarter alarm was hilarious! Poor you though...3.30am? hah ha, what a pair. The panelling will be lovely.

Anonymous

Are you going to sand, paint and gild the paneling? Before or after it goes up?

Anonymous

Great video! The downstairs loo now works! How exciting for you all. And it’s beautiful as well! What more could LaLanders need? And the panelling will look spectacular. And how wonderful that it fits so well. Meant to be. It was fascinating to watch Amaury and Philip work it out. Philip has such a special spatial talent as well as an almost photographic memory of the individual panels. Quite remarkable! And he worked well with Amaury who was visibly excited at the thought of the work ahead. What a team you now have at LaLande! Can’t wait to see the work progress in 2022 with your team of Amaury, Philip, Dan, Davy, Kirstie, the chapel restorer and co! You must be thrilled Stephanie! (And I did note Amaury and Natalia’s trip to Argentina. I’m excited for them both. What a perfect match!)

Anonymous

Is it not possible to put the panels undernieth the beam and be able to use a slightly smaler skirting?

Julia Cobb

The paneling is beyond gorgeous! The downstairs loo unbelievable. I thought you’d sneak in a picture of the beginning of the project just to see the transformation of it. It is a jewel box! Job accomplished! So happy that Amaury is meeting Nati’s family. That’s so exciting. Hopefully Nati or Amaury will film while they are there. This was such an incredible video. I love to see the fruition of years of planning. I was thinking how even 5 years ago you had no idea how any of this would ever be done. Now, with all our small donations together we have helped you realize your dream. It makes me teary and so happy! Thank you for sharing your life with us.

Anonymous

So excited to finally see the completed downstairs loo! It is indeed a jewel box of a room. Also, the working out of the paneling was very interesting. Many thanks to Stephanie, Selmar, the talented Amoury and all those who had a hand in moving the renovations forward.

Anonymous

Love the paneling! However, while I do agree that the wide panel looks a lot better without the bottom panel, I think it is nice to have it with the more slender panels; otherwise I fear there will be too little a link with the doors and the other panels that just have ‘squares’ (I mean no baroque things)? If you would have the bottom panels under the slender panels, I think it would make the room more coherent, and the wide panels could stand out more (like the fire place and the mirror without bottom panel) to put art or nice cabinets in front! I hope it is clear what I want to say, English is not my native language. Either way, it will be beautiful and I trust in your vision :-)

Anonymous

Omg the downstairs loo is so beautiful, I could move in and live there....

Anonymous

The downstairs loo is absolutely stunning ✨💖✨ and love all the progress in the chateau

Anonymous

Stephanie you are so talented. You create beauty everywhere!!

Anonymous

It’s going to look fabulous when finished

Anonymous

Loo looks fantastic, I love it 💛

Anonymous

So exciting to see the downstairs loo completed! What a gem! All the great work that went into it - Selmar's stones, the wallpaper, plumbing, gorgeous coving and beautiful fixtures.

Kelly S Larson

The downstairs loo is a beautiful jewel box from top to bottom. Will you be sanding and painting the paneling in the grand salon? I can hardly wait to see work progressing in there. Also, can you tell me where you got your beautiful red Latvian cape from?

Anonymous

The Patreon notification in my phone showed me "It's finally happened!" nothing more and I immediately thought "downstairs loo!". Don't know why it was the first thing I thought of. It's not something I think about often :)

Anonymous

Absolutely love the downstairs loo! It looks amazing!! It’s so glamorous!!

Anonymous

The paper is gorgeous and I'm especially in love with the mirror. Everything ties in so well! It was really nice to get a vision for the Grand Salon, it's amazing that anything makes that space look small!

Anonymous

So excited things are falling into place. A lot of hard work coming to fruition. What does Scotman think of the loo?

Anonymous

So beautiful. Great plans for panelling.

Georgette Jones

The loo is wonderful❗️The paneling is beautiful, the bar b q looked yummy and you are all loved ❣️

Janese Carstens

I’m with you Maria! I was in the middle of a video call and wanted SO badly to hang up to watch the unveiling of a bathroom, of all things! 🤣 I remember last year when Stephanie unveiled the wallpaper as a patron video and thinking “I wonder how long this will take to finish?” Watching these videos have made me practice patience in my own life much more intentionally.

Anonymous

The downstairs loo has arrived!! Bravo Amaury it looks wonderful ❤️ was that my favourite men’s cologne- Christian Dior’s eau sauvage 🥰 to see you all nutting out the paneling and seeing it in situ- go team 💕💕💕 l could see that Philip had a excellent sense of position and measurements too. Love our sneak peeks 👏👏

The loo looks fantastic! Hope you and all the LaLanders have a wonderful New Year. Thanks for continuing to share your journey with us. It's still an elixir with a shot of happiness every time I watch a vlog. May you receive every blessing possible in the coming year. ❤️

Anonymous

What a vlog!!!! Thank you Stephanie. First the big reveal of the Downstairs Loo, then the new look for the Grand Salon, then the Boxing Day BBQ, and finally YORKSHIRE PUDDING washed down with port and rum spiked mulled wine....OMG. I'm going straight to the kitchen with rum and port in hand to spike my mulled wine. 🇨🇦

Anonymous

so exciting!

Anonymous

Its a Christmas Miracle!!- the loo is finally finished!!

Anonymous

Spectacular!!!

thechateaudiaries

Yes, we will be sanding and painting. And my cape was actually from Estonia - I bought it in the Christmas Market in Tallinn a couple of years ago!

Anonymous

Great progress happening at the chateau!!

Anonymous

Wow the loo is gorgeous 🥰& the Grand Salon! So excited to see when Amaury is finished - bravo Amaury well done! Dan & Amaury near the end gave me a good chuckle! I’m so happy for your progress Stephanie❤️Happy New Year🎉

Anonymous

THE LOO!!!! So happy to see it finished...and what a beautiful room it is - fit for a chateau!! The Grand Salon is going to be stunning. Amaury is indeed extremely talented and it is so wondereful he will be staying, he will be pivotal in getting things moving ahead. Thank you to the whole Lalande Team for the open door into your lives. I have cherished every video. Enjoy your New Year and try to rest up in January....even though I will miss the constant stream of videos. Cheers from Australia!! xxx

Anonymous

The loo is so pretty! And the paneling is just so beautiful! Stephanie, are you considering doing anything to the beams in the ceiling? You have mentioned you like the decorated ones 😊

Anonymous

What terrific progress!

Anonymous

My all time favorite video! The glorious loo AND the astoundingly gorgeous paneling. I do hope you're not going to touch the finish. No sanding or painting over that historic patina please.

Anonymous

Just a quick thought. Do you HAVE to cut down the doors? I believe they can stay as they are, they can be wider than the opening as they’re opening inwards. It shouldn’t be a problem visually that when you open them the walk through is actually narrower than the doors.

Anonymous

Great vlog Stephanie the downstairs loo is fabulous I bet there will be a line waiting to use it as everyone will take there time in there the panelling is going to look fabulous and it was lovely to see Phillip so excited about it to and the BBQ looks scrumptious Yorkshire pudding and sausages heaven I look forward to further progress in the new year excellent

Christine VR

I don’t know how you do it, but every video I end up smiling so much and feeling incredibly happy - it’s magic! Never thought I would be cheering for a loo but by golly that is indeed a glamorous throne room! LOVED the group effort sorting out the panelling placement. It is going to be sumptuous!! Can’t wait! What a crew, everyone pitching in, ear flaps down and fortified with a cauldron of mulled wine and Yorkshire pudding/sausage burgers! Missing your aunt and uncle already!! Thank you Stephanie for a yet another lovely glimpse of life at LaLande.❤️

Ashley Johann

I know there is a bromance joke between Amaury and Dan but I have to say they are more like brothers teaming up on their sister Stephanie. The look on their faces when she brought up the alarm prank was priceless!

Anonymous

Well, I saw your response above Stephanie. It will be sanded, painted, and gilded. It may just be that my phone doesn't show the condition. I sincerely believe that you have a level of taste and knowledge that is beyond reproach. It's going to be spectacular.

Anonymous

The downstairs loo is absolument magnifique !!!!! Everything seems to be happening so fast. The panelling will be in place before we know it & you'll be organising Amaury & Nati's wedding in the renovated chapel ; ) It's so exciting. Love to you all.

Anonymous

Oh wow! So much in one x video! I absolutely love the downstairs loo and can’t wait to see it in person! My mind was reeling after watching the jigsaw puzzle of the grand salon paneling. Oh my goodness! No wonder Amaury needs a holiday (well deserved!). May you all have a very Happy New Year! Much love from Cathy in Victoria.

Anonymous

We are so happy too!! I wanted to mention that I really like Maria too. You have such wonderful people around you because you attract them with your positive energy. Wonderful work everyone!

Anonymous

Michael needs to learn how to control the vents under the coals. When blazing like that, close vents by75% and the Gil flames will die down

Daniel Hammond

So glad that the panels are not being chopped up. If they had been made recently, it would not matter, but now they are historic artefacts with an artistic value beyond their functional purpose. And it will be nice to have leftovers for another room! Thank you for the video.

Anonymous

Love the loo. Love the Grande Salon paneling…sublime. Love the family. Y’all are blessed. Wishing you a very Happy New Year. 🎊🍾🥂🥳❤️

Anonymous

Stunning powder room!

Anonymous

The loo is beautiful and the paneling is going to be truly stunning. This video left me with a big smile on my face. Thank you for all you share with us.

Anonymous

I can see a movie filmed in there!

Anonymous

A real gem ! Well done to all

Anonymous

What company made the wallpaper for the loo?

Anonymous

tres fabu

Anonymous

That was so lovely, all of it! Thank you for sharing. :) Happy New Year to everyone at LaLande.

Anonymous

Vintage emerald green perfume bottles would look so nice with the Art Deco sink.

Anonymous

The downstairs loo was so worth the wait, and the panelling is stunning. I’m so happy that it’s going to fit without having to cut it. What a very grand salon it will be. Please will you consider adopting me? 😂

Anonymous

The wall paper just makes the Loo look spectacular. Just love saying Loo. (-:

Anonymous

It was magic watching all that was going on tonight. I felt as if I was in the rooms with you and kept making comments and answering your questions all on my own, that was how much Iwas immersed in the filming. How exciting the forthcoming trip to Argentina, hope Covid doesn’t get in the way as it is spreading. And you have been lucky with all your visitors. Thank you Stephanie and Gang.

Anonymous

What an all-around beautiful vlog. The loo is so pretty & finally you can use it. I cannot wait for the panelling to be completed. It will be stunning.

Anonymous

Amaury & Nati, have a wonderful vacation in Argentina.

Theresa Romero

The downstairs loo is so so beautiful! What a little jewel box it now is!, with the gorgeous wallpaper, breathtaking venetian mirror and sconces, and exquisite chandelier. I really adore it!

Anonymous

Just love the loo, the grand salon is going to look fabulous xx

Anonymous

One of the things I love best about LaLande is the all hands on deck of every project, every shared meal, every day! This video perfectly encapsulates how everyone is celebrating the season together…but they’re also still working together, planning together, and of course (my favorite) problem solving together!

Anonymous

This was Brillant. The loo is gorgeous and watching all of you working together to lay out the paneling in the Salon was wonderful, All of you work so well together and so happy that Michael Potts was there to be a part of the planning.

Christine VR

Wouldn't the panels that don't fit in the Grand Salon be absolutely gorgeous in Stephanie's bedroom/boudoir? Just a thought.

Janese Carstens

Stephanie…I am happy to be your co-conspirator to get even with Amaury and Dan. My brothers did the same thing to me when I was much younger. They set an alarm and put it in a tissue box near my head. I slept so hard that I was so out of it when it went off at 2:45am. I kept saying “I can’t hear it!” when I sat up and then “it’s louder” when I laid down. 😂 It took me longer that it should have to find the stupid thing. All that to say is I had great ways to get even with them that I would love to pass on to you!! 😈❤️ Message me for some harmless yet hilarious retaliation options! Happy New Year! 💥🎆

Anonymous

Stephanie, have you given it a thought if you don’t cut the doors down to fit the door way. Build up a frame for the doors to fit the frame even though the passage way will be more narrow.

Anonymous

The downstairs loo is a triumph! Well done!! I absolutely agree with the decision not to cut the paneling in the grand salon. It's going to look spectacular when it's finished. I hope Nati and Amaury have a wonderful time in Argentina. Not sure if they would be interested in showing us some of the sites while they're there, maybe for just the patrons? The El Ateneo Grand Splendid in Buenos Aires is truly spectacular. Obviously, their time with family should remain private. Stephanie, I'm really glad you are taking some time off in January. You guys seriously worked your butts off for us in 2021. Now that you are starting a new channel with Oliver soon, I hope that means just 3 videos a week from you (one Cadeaux, one Chateau Diaries, and one Patron video), and then one a week with you and Oliver. That's a lot of awesome content for us to look forward to. Maybe you could encourage your subs to check out the other chateau vlogs during your break in January, so people can spread the love a little while you get some rest? P.S. I hope you and Nati liked your fairy ears. Sending you love and hugs. <3 <3 <3

Anonymous

The loo is stunning!! I'm sure the grand salon will be as well!

Anonymous

OMG! Most beautiful loo ever!! And the paneling is going to be epic! Bravo!!

Anonymous

The downstairs loo is Gorgeous! Wow! And the panelling is going to be stunning in the Grande Salon. I can't wait to see that. Stephanie, I so appreciate that you have such a commitment to the preservation of the panelling. No vandalism. I think of the saying "if only those walls could talk". I think there's something to that. They have hundreds of years of life in them, and they deserve to be respected in tact in all their glory.

Anonymous

The loo was well worth the wait it’s just stunning and the little finishing touches will be the icing on the cake ! What finish are you doing on the grande salon panels ? I hope not too new and glitzy

Anonymous

Stephanie, what did Isabelle say about the loo? Remember her standing on your bed unwrapping the rolls of wallpaper for you. Your joy is irresistible. And as always, thank you Amaury.

Anonymous

Amaury is simply extraordinary, although he and Dan together is like watching two juvenile delinquents that have been let out of school. Stephanie, if you ever feel in need of a side hustle with which to earn a little money for the brocantes or whatever, just have someone create an app for the Apple Store that plays Amaury’s voice talking about carpentry and measurements on a loop to zen us all out into a blissfully calm and meditative state. Whether or not you then have him whisper hypnotic suggestions in our ear about Patreon contributions is up to you.

Anonymous

The downstairs loo is stunning and I still can’t get over how beautiful the wallpaper is 👏👏👏. I have loved every minute of watching all the changes that have happened to LaLande. Amaury is a carpenter extraordinaire. I though Selmar was an artist but Amaury has surpassed him in my book. Wow, just wow 👏👏👏. I can’t wait to see how the Grande Salon will turn out.

Anonymous

The new Loo is like a little jewel box! Well done! The Grande Salon will indeed be very very grand! Very exciting! Happy New Year!

Anonymous

The loo looked fantastic. Great job. And can't wait to see the panelling up, thank you for showing us how it might be

Anonymous

Awesome! Thank you for sharing. The panelling is magnificent and the downstairs loo is out of this world.👍🏻Happy new year everyone🍾🦔🍸🏰 heres to health and happiness for 2022🎉🎊

Anonymous

It looks beautiful!!❤️

Anonymous

Sidebar: I already commented on the Loo and the paneling. Just wanted to wish Amaury and Nati safe travels ❤. Also Stephanie if you're watching Netflix...I'm watching Season 2 of the witcher and it's really good. For Philip Jungle Cruise on Disney... Skipper Frank is throwing Puns left and right. It's also a good watch. And on Amazon Prime The Wheel of Time is good too.. Much Love xoxo Laura ❤❤❤ 🦔🐁🐇🦌🦔🦔🦔🐿🦊 not forgetting some woodland creatures for Philip and the gang 🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔🦌🦌🐇🐁🐿🦊🦔🦔🦌🦌🦔🦌🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔😎😎😎👍😉

Anonymous

Its often the little things in life (like a beautiful loo room) that give us much joy LOL!

Anonymous

Amaury is referencing Pretty Woman where, at the end, he goes to her apartment and "rescues" her! :) Love that movie with Julia Roberts and Richard Gere!

Anonymous

STUNNING, just MAGICAL and STUNNING!!! Thank you so much for sharing it all with us. I'm still wondering if Phillip's play is still going on, and when. Wishing all a Happy, Healthy, Magnificent New Year!

Anonymous

What an exciting update; thank you so much for sharing it all with us!!! 🥰 (PS: The movie is Say Anything, with John Cusack. But, we’re very worried that Dan won’t be able to focus on wooing Amaury properly after today’s studio disaster… Kidding aside, mixed emotions today: THRILLED for the progress at Lalande; heartbroken for poor Dan.)

Sabine Goetz

A jewel box is the perfect description of the beautiful loo. The wall paper is magnificent. It is also very exciting to follow the transformation of the Grande Salon. Thank you for the peak into what is happening.

Anonymous

Two major projects have just taken giant leaps forward...you must all be SO happy and excited, as we are for you! What precious moments in the life of Lalande! ❤️

Anonymous

Oh what a beautiful toilet it has become, will B&B guests use it? Is it secret or can you tell what you paid for the panel to the big salon. It will be exciting to follow the process when the puzzle is put together. Looking forward to a fantastic 2022. Greetings Marianne Sweden

Anonymous

Love it 💕❤️♥️

Anonymous

It would be lovely to visit Mummy & Percy in SA, but I'd be very cautious about any travel during current Covid spike.

Anonymous

Thank you Amaury, it looks wonderful! You're a legend xx

Jodi and Scott Barck

Loved the updates and the parts about the grand salon. Going to miss your aunt and uncle in your videos. Once again my husband who "doesn't watch" liked how Amaury is so hard working and has that tape measurer handy every time. I like him he says haha👍

Anonymous

For posterity, it might be a nice idea to have a photo of all the La Landers who contributed to the Downstairs Loo and perhaps attach it to the back of one of those lovely mirrors, something like you are thinking of for the names of patrons on the panelling in the Grand Salon. I know Selmar put his heart and soul into the stones for the floor. Stephanie, you and Scotman did an amazing job of the wallpapering, Amaury worked his magic on the coving and piping and I'm sure there were more people involved as well. 🇨🇦

Anonymous

The downstairs loo looks fantastic, and the grand salon is going to be spectacular! It's funny how the grand salon looks taller in its unfinished state. Perhaps you could use one the overdoor panels on the hood in the kitchen. One might look nice made into a trumeau above the mirror of the fireplace in Chambre Perse. Even a grand bed crown for Bonne Maman. I wish I could have a Yorkshire pudding. My mom always made them small they barely peeped out of the tin and always called them batter puddings, but they were delicious. Happy New Years!

Anonymous

They might have to make the china pantry into a nursery instead lol.

Anonymous

Stephanie please please please buy Michael a gas bbq....(as a backup) As a chick from the land down-under, we use them all the time, with great results. Oh and if you need any help devising a retaliatory prank against Amaury & Dan....let us know. I’m sure all the patrons can come up with something fitting 😂😂😂 Oh and that downstairs loo....”she’s a bit of alright” 💐💕🎉👋 Happy New Year lovely lalanders 🦚

Leah Hamdaoui

WoW !! What a reveal !! The most beautiful bathroom I have ever seen. AND the GRANd sAloN is really looking promising. Amaury is a godsend to you with his craftsman talents and his parents are both such lovely warm characters. SO enjoyed seeing Michael Potts, if only he could be there more. Love to you ALL from the Sunshine Coast in Australia

Anonymous

❤️❤️🏰❤️❤️

Anonymous

Ha ! I was thinking the same thing as I saw Michael battling with the charcoal one. Here in the south of France we have many, many"grillades" (bbqs). Although it's traditional to fuel them with twigs from vines we too have moved on to a gas bbq & it's life-changing !

Anonymous

What a great vlog to wake up to! The loo is amazing, beautiful and luxurious, and so interesting to see you all planning the grand salon, thank you so much for showing us so many goodies in one vlog! Wishing you all the best for the new year and excited to see all your projects developing :D

Anonymous

Amaury, You might be interested in carlrogers YouTube Channel especially (Father & Son RESTORE 300-year-old Barn.. [80 Day Timelapse]. Some ideas for the construction of the covered walk way and using wet (Green) Oak local sawn. Best regards Si.

I’d like it to look fresher, with newer gold, but without it looking brand new. It’s going to be tricky to get the balance right!

Anonymous

Mr Potts only a South African will be making a braai in the winter loving it. We had one last night in normandie. It was a very damp night

Anonymous

Hello all I am a South African living in London…missing the braai! The downstairs loo is amazing and so original. I love the flooring of the salon also - can you tell us more? What about Thermaskirt E heating? It might be very suitable.

Anonymous

I am really relieved to hear that you are not going to butcher the historic paneling. It would have been such a shame and wouldn't have looked right after all. So thumbs up!👍

Anonymous

I don't know how you had the patience to wait do long but it is beautiful!!!

Anonymous

Please buy Michael a gas barbeque?

Anonymous

Your Aunt and Uncle must be very proud of Amaury, everywhere looks beautiful.

Anonymous

Absolutely stunning and so exciting to see the paneling coming together

Anonymous

Happy New Year to you Stephanie and to everyone x x

Heidi Panella

Oh that downstairs loo!!! Absolutely stunning, I LOVE the mirror. The wallpaper, the crown molding, everything is gorgeous, great job by all involved. Super glad it's all done! Amaury, you are so skilled at your craft. The paneling is going to be amazing, can't wait to see it all done. Have a wonderful holiday, and Happy New Year to you all XOXO!!

Kathleen B Schmidt

You could not have planned the placement of the wallpaper in the downstairs loo any better, seeing how the trees and the sconces frame the sink. It was serendipity, considering that you started the panels at the door. Amaury did a spectacular job finishing the job. Fabulous!

Gabrielle Baalke

Wait--is Amaury left-handed? Explains everything. (And the movie is 'Say Anything' with the indomitable John Cusack. One of the absolute best scenes with a ghetto-blaster ever). <3

Anonymous

I’m sure you will get the balance just right for the panelling it’s going to look glorious

Anonymous

Just gorgeous

Anonymous

Absolutely stunning! Valerie xo

The loo's a triumph!! So many projects coming to fruition. Can't wait to see what 2022 will bring now the "A" Team are getting in to gear.

Anonymous

wow what a beautiful bathroom! what a triumph!

Allie Murray

Yay! So happy the loo is finally usable and absolutely gorgeous. Looks stunning!

Anonymous

Superb! And who, other than Amaury, would go to the trouble to move the toilet so it is just perfect.

Anonymous

I loved the walk through of the panelling! Off topic, but will we be getting another bloopers video of the advent series like the last couple of years?

Anonymous

The loo is lovely. I’m in love with the wall paper. The panelling is a big wow 🤩. Thank you so much for your advent series. I enjoyed it so much. It was apart of my personal “ getting ready for Christmas “ . Each day it inspired me to do a little more to get ready for my own celebration. I don’t write much but please beware I have watched you from the start of your series. You and Philip along with everyone there are my go to people each day. Love ya all. Best wishes for 2022. I’ll be watching. Debbie Mollison.

Anonymous

Way off topic here, but although Ruth has been mentioned several times, she is rarely, if ever caught in the vlogs. I didn't see her in ths Patreon video and I noticed an empty dhair at Christmas dinner, is she getting camera shy? Also, loved the ending with Amoury and Dan's exchange. Downstairs loo is magic!

Anonymous

Your bathroom is such a beautiful jewel 😘🇨🇦

Anonymous

The downstairs loo is just beyond beautiful 🤩, can’t wait for the Grand Salon to get underway, I just want to hang out with your Uncle he is a character and dear Mr. Potts once again you make me smile 😊

Say Anything is the movie Amory was trying to think of - the bathroom and grand salon look amazing! Can't wait to see all the paneling in - so beautiful

Happy New Years La Lander’s and enjoy the beautiful new loo!!

Anonymous

It will be splendid once finished! What abt having the extra panelling in the main stairs perhaps. Happy New Year :)

Anonymous

Amaury is amazing!! Such a great work ethic and I see where he gets his humor from. Uncle Stephen is hilarious 😂. I seriously don’t know how you’ve coped all this time without Am the Man there. Sure the 3:30 am alarm was a bit annoying 🤣but hilarious!!!

Anonymous

the Downstairs Loo is really gorgeous! Such a team effort that has really paid off! Spectacularly! I'm so invested now I want to know what color you plan for the radiator cover?! White to match the moldings? A dark Prussian Blue? I am so excited to have a glimpse of how the Grand Salon will come together too. What an incredible time at the chateau and I'm so thrilled to be a witness to the love and progress. It's both encouraging and inspiring. Safe and happy travels for Nati and Amaury to Argentina. Also wishing a safe and happy journey home for Michael and Ruth, and of course, for your Tante et Tonton too. I hope they return soon and often! They are so lovely. Happy New Year to you all!

Anonymous

S, it's lovely! What a triumph. Sending Happy New Year Vibes from Sydney Oz to all the La Lande crew. 🎉

I'm with Uncle Steven - don't mess up good wine. Love your aunt and uncle - Thank you Stephanie for making my Christmas even better. December has been filled with the joy of your lovely videos - THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL THE SMILES YOU BROUGHT FORTH FROM ME :)

I’m watching the video on YouTube and the part where you are sorting the China. For some reason (since my new phone) I can’t comment on YouTube. My daughter is my tech, so I’ll ask her to fix that for me. Anyway I hope someone will see this in regard to the “salad plates”. Those are actually bone plates. When meat is served with a bone ie chicken, steak, the half moon plates are for the discarding of bones, so they aren’t on the dinner plate or put someplace that will get a grease stain ie tablecloth. I have a couple of sets and they are very practical, especially when serving chicken.

❤️😃👌🏼 love the old panelling 😍 and of course the downstairs 🚽😃👌🏼 and I would have loved to join your Boxing Day barbecue 😘

Well, I jumped and spoke too soon. I scrolled down the comments on the YouTube video and saw others had mentioned the bone plates also. I didn’t want you to not realize their original purpose, because they are so practical when used for bones. I think they would be perfect for other things, too. Salad, relish, dipping sauce, the sky’s the limit.

I think Amaury was referring to the '80s movie, Say Anything with John Cusack holding the radio over his head playing Peter Gabriel's In Your Eyes.

What a beautiful loo! There will be a queue to use it. The panelling is going to look STUNNING! Are you going to restore the gold features or leave it as it is?

Everything is looking so beautiful, just as a chateaux should!! Absolutely love the paneling!

Worth the wait to get such a spectacular downstairs loo! It looks so inviting! You are so very lucky to have Amaury working with you, he's such a perfectionist, you know anything he touches will be a work of art ( not just a pretty face :p ) With all the work Selmar put in in the beginning getting the floor perfect and you and Gerry with the papering , you make a great team!

If you cut the doors down, wont the room not be symmetrical?

Wafty Wafty, and a cauldron of wine. I love Lalande.

I’m out of here. The ridiculous management of each project is wasting my valuable contribution. The downstairs loo was not funny. To take a year and only able to complete part of it due to Amoury. You should have made blinds, ordered the radiator cover and light bulbs. Now flitting off to SA with the heating not a priority. If you wanted to save this chateau a different approach is needed. I do not know why other patrons are not wondering where their thousands are going whilst you buy expensive wine and designer clothes. Very disappointed.

The "extra" paneling belongs in the bedroom where Michael Petherick painted trompe l'oeil paneling!

The cast iron garden chairs that you showed in yesterday's vlog would look good painted green. Similar to the color of the pergola on the terrace or maybe darker like a dark teal. Happy New Years!

New Patreon here - and my only regret is that I didn’t become one sooner. 🥰 You really go beyond what other content creators do, and I just want to say that you’re leading the way for your niche on YouTube and Patreon! 👏🏼 Happy new year to all the amazing La Landers in and around the Chateau.❤️🥂I hope and think 2022 will be a good one! 🦚🦔🤩

That is such a beautiful bathroom, it’s just spectacular and the right person finished it to put his own stamp on it. Love it.

Ok, did everyone see how proud Amaury’s Mother was? She was beaming at her son and his amazing talent. She is simple adorable. I’ll miss her so much.

The loo is like walking into another world! A perfect reprieve. It’s gorgeous Stephanie.

Since Amaury has magically transformed the downstairs bathroom into a little slice of paradise, I can see that one and all now will have every reason to skip to the loo. But please, one at a time!
