Really enjoy your vast knowledge and interesting people featured in your vlogs. Thanks for keeping us up to date. You're hopefully taking time each day for yourself even with your busy life.

Anonymous

Thanks Stephanie. Now I need to go grab a glass of wine and snuggle up to watch your update! Xoxo 🍷 and a gratuitous hedgehog for Philip 🦔 I'm feeling generous so I'll throw in a squirrel 🐿 😉😎👍

Anonymous

Recieved my first patreon cards in the mail today!!! Thanks for the update. I am so glad to be a part of your wonderful work on the chateau!!

Anonymous

I received my cards yesterday, I was thrilled!!!

Anonymous

Stephanie, I absolutely love the advent vlogs. Please continue featuring french artists (santons, Poisson) as they are an opportunity to learn more about French culture. I wouldn't mind a short course on French Champagne as it is very much a celebratory Christmas drink. Next, top liqueurs, cheeses of France like the Mont d'Or served at Christmastime... Much love and gratitude for all you do!

Anonymous

Thank you, Stephanie. I love watching your updates here. Regarding future Christmas videos, I have only one request. I know that Cat is absent this year, but I would still love it if yourself and Philip, plus anyone else, would like to sing some carols for us. Maria is such a skilled pianist so she’d be a wonderful accompanist ❤️

Julia Cobb

I’m so excited for all the new work. I was thinking that you will still be working on this after I’m gone. I really want to see it finished especially the towers. Can you put the towers back after the lake is restored? Wondering about how far they are from the edge of the lake.

Anonymous

Spectacular episode Stephanie! Very interesting to hear Davy's thoughts, learned so much! Thank you for letting us see the plans. Onward! 💕

Anonymous

Love the future plans ❤️

Anonymous

Such a large project with so many moving pieces, dependencies, and so much excitement. And besides all the actual work, the most important part is stakeholder expectation management. You are doing great! All on top of advent!

Anonymous

for the second tower (in the woods) could you build the framework with wood (or steel) and make it an "outdoor" tower with lights instead of the stone? something that could be lit up at night and maybe move the bell to that tower? It might not be in line with the original history but it could be a unique artistic structure at the edge of the water...

Anonymous

I’m just curious. I noticed the tall trees for the courtyard are no longer shown on the blueprints. Are they something that has been changed in the design?

Anonymous

Today's patreon video was in still photos. I could hear sound ,but, no could see no movement Was there a technical glitch on your end or perhaps mine?

Anonymous

All looks amazing! I’m loving the Christmas videos even if I’m a natural grinch 👀. My only change would to be maybe once a week a bit more of traditional chateau diaries (not a criticism I just find it more interesting!)

Anonymous

Wow! What an update. This is the first time I’ve been able to visualize the garden plan in full, especially the location of the English garden behind the chapel and the extension of the terrace toward the chapel. Davy is so good at explaining the reasoning behind the design. Thank you for the triple dose of La Lande goodness today! Stephanie: please pace yourself🌲

Anonymous

Davy is hard at work, as is everyone else! Busy, Busy, Busy! Amaury has to drink a lot of tea with honey and 🍋 🍋 🍋 🍋

Anonymous

I loved seeing the garden plans all laid out. Looking forward to seeing the update on all the projects next week as there is alot going on! I'm loving the Christmas diaries but I would love a regular chateau diaries occasionally. Just a small break from so much Christmas. But I'll happily watch whatever you put out either way

Ana Maria Sierra

Stephanie, I’m enjoying the Advent vlog very much. It brightens my holiday so much, especially since the family and friends I loved so much and with whom I spent Christmas past have either passed away during COVID times or I cannot travel to see due to the risks. So I am living vicariously a happy and cheerful holiday thanks to Chateau Diaries. I do look forward to hearing about the holiday music you plan to introduce and progress with the chapel. Greetings from Mummy + Percy would also be nice. Thank you and happy holidays! 💕💕💕

Anonymous

It all looks amazing but poor Amaury! I've missed him in the past few vlogs. Please tell him not to be too much of a stoic. He sounded very unwell. Sometimes a day in bed is exactly what is needed so that he really can get well soon.

Anonymous

Fab, S. That Davey is a treasure and so is Ian! And A. 🥂

Anonymous

There is no doubt that the gardens will be stunning. How exciting to see it all slowly coming together...

Anonymous

Tremendous!!

Anonymous

Really appreciate enjoyed seeing the master plan and learning about the elements of garden design. Excited to watch the projects unfold

Anonymous

Or……instead of stone towers, Stone Gazebos. Four stone pillars for the corners, with a tower roof and maybe low, bench height (for seating) stone walls…..it would be absolutely lovely to sit and have tea or a cocktail overlooking the lake…a romantic meal for two or a cosy place to sit and read a book or a romantic place for a couple to stand and exchange their vows or a place to place long tables for lakeside dining………some lights strung about….saves the cost of all the stone for towers and is more useful then two enclosed towers. 🙂 Love the garden plans!!

Anonymous

You were so right Stephanie, seeing it all together makes the whole thing so much clearer in my minds eye! It’s exciting to think of all the work that’s about to be done and yet still continue to dream of what’s to come after. Not just the garden works, but also seeing the recovered paneling being treated for future projects even as Amaury works on the grand salon. Or seeing the insulation go in that will keep Nati’s apartment warm which will in turn keep Jerry’s apartment snug above. So many exciting moving pieces, it’s truly a joy to get to watch you juggle them all with grace and good humor!

Anonymous

I can not wait to see it all done!! You definitely have a dream team helping 💜

Anonymous

Amaury said “There’s only so much Netflix you can watch.” Thank God I’m here to correct this misinformation!!! That’s just not true Amaury. It’s quite possible to watch Netflix until your eyes roll back into your head, slumping in place while you become an inert object. This is informally known to most by a boxing term, “being out for the count.” When you awaken, you may discover that you’ve watched movies that no one in their right mind (or on earth) would ever watch, and snacked the entire time. It’s quite possible that getting to this sublime, meditative state is just a matter of experience, like becoming a Master Carpenter. I hope this fact check helps anyone confused by Amaury. He’s ill, maybe has a fever. Speaking of helpful explanations, 👍 thanks for sharing Davy’s garden layout Stephanie!

Anonymous

Today I watched Cadeaux, Chateau Advent and now the Patreon update…and still, I could keep at it because I love it all!! But, I probably should go get some laundry done or something!! Thanks for being a big part of my lazy day today! You guys are the best! Love the garden plans!

Anonymous

Stephanie,so excited for all the improvements. But, I just loved the vibe of your whole youtube channel.😘

Anonymous

So…how’s that downstairs loo coming? Selmar is gone so who is installing the toilet? Why are we seeing Davy’s plans again? This was already shown a couple of months ago. Also, Amaury still had his mustache which was shaved off at the end of November. How long ago was that filmed? Why can’t we get an update on the paneling that he is currently working on? Are there no regular Chateau Diaries during Advent? I’m getting really concerned that your patrons aren’t getting any answers to any of their repeated questions. This definitely didn’t seem like an update to me. Just another long video looking at Davy’s plans. Again.

Anonymous

A closing thought: Stephanie, if Ian has to belly crawl his way through a bunker into WW I & II trenches to support the French Resistance, shouldn’t he be armed? You should at least cough up a helmet, a grenade and a bayonet. I think a cyanide pill if captured is optional, but it’s his choice.

Kelly S Larson

I really enjoy seeing all these plans but would also love to see the plan done up in Microsoft Project or something like that to see how the projects will get put in order and when they can get started. Is Davy the project manager or will you hire one? I really can't wait for the facade to get fixed up too. Thanks for the update and 3 videos today ❤

Anonymous

would be fun to see Mummy & Percy's tree (if they have one) in S. Africa ~ especially loved the Paris gift advent vlog and the Tree de Joie episode. Always fun to see Michael Peterick back as well

Anonymous

What's the name for the type of garden behind the chapel?

Anonymous

Love the update and appreciate everything you and everyone does at Lalande. 💕 Sad there are negative comments no matter what, but just ignore them as much as you can & know that we’re behind you & so thankful for all you do! 😍 Lots of love to everyone at Lalande from FL, USA! :) ❤️💕

Anonymous

Oh my! This is all so exciting! Great minds at work Thank you for sharing all of this with us. xoxo lots of love from Cathy in Victoria

Anonymous

Dear god the complainers in the comments are outrageous! You guys are doing great.

Anonymous

This was an absolutely wonderful Patreon video, S! I LOVED seeing the plans and listening to you and Davy talking about all those plans for the lovely grounds and gardens and lake/natural pond around LaLande! SO informative. You can't always get to every single project but you did a GREAT job on touching on MANY of them and as a Patreon, I really appreciate that! THANK YOU! I look forward to the future Patreon video where you explain other projects as well!

Anonymous

I was surprised to see the "new" oak paneling. Maybe I missed it but I hadn't heard any reference to other paneling before. Where do you intend to install it or is that a Channel 4 secret that can't be shared? Also did I hear you correctly that you intend to buy more paneling for other rooms? Can you tell us more about these plans?

Sabine Goetz

Thank you Stephanie & Davey. The plans were very helpful to envision the dream!

Leah Hamdaoui

How exciting !!! Looks and sounds amazing and following the planning, the process and realisation over the next few years is an inspiration. I'm really enjoying the Advent vlogs Stephanie... it would be lovely to see a vlog in which you all sit around and talk about your memories of 'special, memorable xmas's in the past and the various traditions you remember from your childhood Xmas's :-) love and best wishes to you all from the Sunshine Coast in Australia XXXXXXX

Anonymous

Yes, and lovely to hear Isabelle's thoughts on her walled garden? I'm sure she will appreciate Nic the woodsman's professionalism and his not being uneasy with saying when something has been done wrong, to the point of correcting it. Those poor trees. Happy Christmas Isabelle and Percy.

Anonymous

Thank you for the lovely update. The exterior plans are beautiful and it will all be amazing. Quite an extensive project , looking like a ten year plan. You’re going to need more gardeners.

Anonymous

Spring will be beautiful with all the new plantings and pruning by Nick. Though maybe not the green thumb of Lalande you are the Roman goddess Flora.

Anonymous

Hope the chapel can begin. Waiting for that so much! I love the ceiling.

Anonymous

Loved it Stephanie

Anonymous

I’ve not heard her mention buying this “new” oak until just now. She has said in other vlogs that she wants paneling in as many rooms as possible and is always on the lookout for it. I don’t think it’s a Channel 4 thing, she just found it for a good price so she bought it for a future project.

Anonymous

I love the thoughtful planning but have a serious question. I remember before Dan was hired that you said it was really hard to find a gardener. Dan is part time, Kirsty too. Are you making moves, as in trying to contact and hire a full time gardener for all this (and for planting in spring of English garden plants) bc this is a ton of time and money and it deserves the investment of full time. Otherwise it is a waste. Start looking now for one needed in spring? Or is Dan going full time?

Anonymous

I would like to know more about the space under the chapel. If it was for heat can we put up walls and stairs and think about a boiler or something to keep all the money and work up to temp. we don't want the walls to sweat and mess up the new paint. gardens are nice but buildings are #1 . I want to see it fixed so bad I just love that little chapel.

Anonymous

My question is…where will the sheep live in this design? Something I’ve always wondered, Stephanie, are your dreams and ideas for the Chateau to be self-sustaining in the future, thinking beyond YouTube And Patreon revenue. Expansion of gîtes, or bed.n.breakfast, luxury hotel, spa, investors, events….? I love all the plans and the Advent is a joy to watch. I love seeing you and the team working on small projects, too, and loved to hear about a spring cushion making session. People have sent so many trims and I love seeing what you would do with some of that, as big projects take so much time. I’d love another updated tour of the guest rooms in the new year and how you might freshen them up for the upcoming season.

Anonymous

I didn't have that problem. Maybe your internet bandwidth dropped for a bit?

Anonymous

If you hop over to Marie Wilk's YouTube channel, Cat is visiting her right now!

Anonymous

I love these updates

Anonymous

Sooooo exciting to see Nic work on the gardens. :-)

Anonymous

OOPS.. Plz. disregard above comment. Wrong. Nic. LOL :-)

Anonymous

ha ha ha "I got wood" Amury is too darn funny. lol :-)

Anonymous

I like how Stephanie has Nati present as her Executive Business Assistant at meetings. It shows Stephanie values her opinion and doesn't micro manage Nati or Philip as her Executive Personal Assistant.

Anonymous

I totally teared up when Steph said she missed Selma. :-)

Anonymous

God love Stephanie for dealing with local planning board. :-)

Carrie Miller

Thank you for all the videos and updates! Does the local area/village have any holiday traditions? Where will the sheep live when the car park is built? We're doing Secret Santa with the faculty and staff at the school where I teach. I drew the new Spanish Language teacher...so I've decided to make him a Tio de Nadal/Catalonian Christmas Log (along with an explanation sheet since he isn't from Spain). Thank you for the inspiration! I'd be at a total loss if not for the advent vlogs! Speaking of inspiration, I loved the Rituals Advent Village so much last year that I bought one for myself this year. I live in a 600 sq ft apt, so space is too precious for a full Christmas Village, but the advent village calendar has been wonderful! Merry Advent! Oh, and I hope Amaury is feeling better!

Daniel Hammond

Do you know what the time-frame will be for the Grand Salon to be finished? It will look amazing. The garden is going to be amazing. Totally wonderful! Already I am excited for the videos!

Anonymous

I'm excited to see the extension of the terrace wall around the chapel. That is really going to be a major change in the way the place looks from the back. The projects that you've already been working on like the main courtyard and walled garden look great!

Anonymous

Thank you for the great update Stephanie ! I am really looking forward to the lake !

Anonymous

Ian you are truly a master builder. Nothing is impossible with you around. Happy Christmas to you and your family.

Anonymous

Getting there with the garden takes years but you have to start somewhere . Looking great the plans of Davey ! just one thing watching the video, not that important but caught my eye, that kitchen cupboard , the big one could need some paint on the doors and spode door knobs !

Anonymous

Time to rewatch A Little Chaos. ❤❤❤

Anonymous

The plan is so exciting. Thank you for sharing.

Anonymous

I think Dan is pretty much full time now. He mentioned ages ago that his work elsewhere had stopped as he had more work at the Chateau.

Anonymous

You can see the framework for the pleached trees In the courtyard on the intro to the advent videos. This work has must have started, I'm sure it would be on Davy's plans ,maybe not that obvious.

Anonymous

Thank you for the extended piece on Davy's plans ,it was good to see all the other plans finally on one large sheet, much better to see one large overview. I appreciate the fact that for Chateau ,Chapel and garden plans to come to fruition will take a LOT of time. I know I will not see how it all will look eventually as I'm 70 next year but hey ...I'm here for the journey and I LOVE IT . This is what it's all about for me ,seeing the processes. Loving the Advent vlogs. I'm sure when Amaury feels well again we may get a peek into what he's doing. He may not want to give a running commentary on progress and no need to ,just the odd glimpse.

Anonymous

Thought for the day......To own a Chateau ( or be a Patron of one ) one must cultivate patience in all things 😊

Anonymous

I would love to hear about your childhood Christmas' and also Amaury's especially if you spent any together 🎅

Anonymous

Wonderful to see the garden plans on paper. It is going to be amazing!!

Anonymous

I just love seeing you all bring this beautiful building and gardens back to life. It’s so wonderful to watch. Thank you ❤️

thechateaudiaries

That’s interesting, I hadn’t considered putting them back in a more ‘artistic’ way, it’s definitely worth thinking about

Anonymous

Love the plan x

Anonymous

What a great plan and to have it framed at Lalande. Yippeee. Love all the ideas. ❤️🇦🇺

Anonymous

I am loving hearing and seeing all the plans, especially to the garden. Q: Does Davey have 3D software which would enable you/us to see ie: the wall he's planning to extend the terrace with? That would be amazing to see it as if walking through the garden. ;-) The only thing I disagree with is changing the 'moon garden' shape to square. Perhaps it can be a mixture of the English and the French garden with a bit more whimsy? All in all, it's so exciting ❣️

thechateaudiaries

The restorer is planning to install electric heating in the chapel. The area below the chapel is for a wood fire heating system, and I definitely want to restore it so that it can be seen, but I don’t imagine that we’ll actually use it

thechateaudiaries

The sheep will stay in the field opposite the chateau as the car parking will be in the furthest half of the field, so we’ll still be able to see them! When they need to rotate to a different pasture we’ll be able to use the old orchard and parts of our two other fields (none of which are shown on the plan as they’re not included in the redesign of the gardens). Future plans would be interesting to talk about! I do see the creation of the new apartments in the stable courtyard as a security for the future. The installation of solar panels would certainly help too. And yes, I’ll try to do more guest room tours in the spring!

thechateaudiaries

The sheep will live in the same field opposite the chateau, near to the car park, for most of the year (I’ve given a more comprehensive answer to the same question above). We also have a secret Santa system here for Christmas (well nearly, except that ours isn’t secret!) I’m so happy that you decided to make the Tio de Nadal! I think that the Rituals advent calendar is the prettiest I’ve seen (and the products were great!)

Anonymous

I'm always interested in the gardens. It's good to have a professional like Nick there, not just for his work, but for his knowledge and advice. I like the idea of re-grading the lawn. Stephanie, let us know when you might be doing a big planting, as mentioned, and I could come up for a week to help out (note for Nati).

thechateaudiaries

We’re in a major debate about it in the house. I think it should be repainted, but it’s the original 19th century paint so some of us think it shouldn’t be repainted. The fierce debate continues!

thechateaudiaries

I certainly hope you see the garden plans finished! Though none of us will see it truly established. There’s an update on the grand salon in tonight’s Chateau Diary 😊

Anonymous

How about having Follies built instead of the towers - I have a friend ( Phil Game) who builds follies and tree houses and lives in Sweden who would love to work on a project at the chateau. His company is called Pure Folly https://www.purefolly.com

Anonymous

I think Stephanie’s generosity in saying ‘we are so blessed’ with the things that can be attained. I agree with Stephanie the follies & mill can be in the far future as everything is so costly it’s best in my opinion to pace yourself.

Anonymous

posted that before you mentioned the word Folly !

Anonymous

Spring is going to be amazing at the chateau! I'm loving advent as always but I love the Spring gardening and the overall life that blooms in Spring. And Easter with the Grand salon finished, gasp! I can't wait to see the evolution of the drone shots to come, you should work on an ongoing drone timeline video to show progress of the outdoor projects.

Anonymous

It must be so great for Davy to have control of such a large and varied project, especially for such a fun and participatif client. It is a huge project but broken onto small parts it's easy to see how they will proceed. xxxx

Anonymous

You could 'build' the towers as a frame in metal of wood on a stone base like a silhouette and then grow vines over it so that you have the shape but not the expense. A cross between a modernistic approach and 18th century trellis work found in many chateaux.

Anne Green

Great monthly update again thank you 👏🏽 Also I really enjoyed seeing the whole garden plan and hearing Stephanie and Davy discussing it all and how the different projects impact each other so what to start first etc - fascinating 😁 xx

Anonymous

I’m actually the most excited about the lake coming back and the island 🤣🤣

Anonymous

This is such an amazing plan! It's so exciting!! But does this mean that restoration of the mill is also a 'folly'? It was so lovely when you and Michael P had the picnic there and had the home made quiche. Such a beautiful area.

Anonymous

Could you film a tour of your top favourite Christmas ornaments?

Anonymous

SO WONDERFUL to see it all. LOVE the beautiful Plans. Davy has done an AMAZING job! I did notice that I didn't see the tall trees in the front courtyard on the Plans. I had hoped you would just stand the tall veg garden trees there to get an idea of how tall trees would look and see if you liked them. Can't wait to see how the paneling is going! Thank you so much.

Anonymous

Your daily Advent vlogs are so enjoyable to watch. Stephanie you are so talented and creative with your vlog content. You should be paid for each episode by a national TV station as they are so good!! I look forward to watching every day ♥️♥️♥️. Thank you and Happy Advent 🎄

Anonymous

Oh, I forgot while I was watching you talk about the large garden behind the Chapel, I was wondering how everything will get watered? Actually, all of the different areas too.

Anonymous

Wonderful update! The trimmed box hedges by Kirsty look fabulous. Nick, the Tree Surgeon is such a wise woodsman! You are so fortunate to have him. You can tell he cares about forests and gardens. Hope your cousin is feeling better and how wonderful to have another caring artisan who appreciates the value of restoration! And then Davey and his expertise…and Philip, Nati and Dan and all the rest. Such a talented team! Loved seeing the huge plan! Enjoy the process!

Anonymous

Great update full of exciting plans. I'm delighted that the English garden will go in first but hope you will hold a MASSIVE party once the lake goes back in as it will transform the grounds. Imagine all the Great Gatsby/Versailles parties you'll be able to hold once it's there !!!!! One little question. Will the new car park not be a bit too far away from the château rendering it a bit impracticable on a daily basis ? I'm really enjoying the advent vlogs as well. Btw, perhaps Amaury should get involved with the associative café in the village to help improve his French (if he ever has time bien sûr !) Bravo to you all for the interesting & entertaining content. Bisous from French Catalogne

Sofi Hultin

Quite curious how the lake is coming along. Any good news?

Anonymous

Thanks for the update. I'm thoroughly enjoying the advent series. I look forward to it every day. :)

Anonymous

Loved listening in on the garden plans and all the details. It really helps seeing the complete plan. Fascinating from beginning to end :)

Anonymous

Thank you for the great update. The garden plans are wonderful and I'm with you, I think the towers needs to be put back as they are part of the original chateau. I will be happy when the day comes that I can again support you at the top level, but until that time I will continue to support this project in whatever way I can. I feel privileged to be part of this restoration.

Jodi and Scott Barck

Stephanie connect with YouTube channel Garden answer. They are working new 5 acres and Aaron is great at seeing future needs and installing infrastructure needed in order. I know they watch your YouTube channel I've seen them comment in your Instagram. They have almost a million and a half subscribers. Check out they're property. Husband and wife team garden show. Will give many ideas that you need. You really need what they are doing.

Jodi and Scott Barck

Also an idea about the towers is what about using the future rebuilt bases as raised beds for annuals and have a plaque displaying the original look of the towers. That way it's useful, pretty and observant of it's history without large costs and even more money

Anonymous

They are good, tv would ruin them and Stephanie would have no control unless of course she had her own production company 😉

Anonymous

It is so fun to see it in detail. Thanks for sharing.

Anonymous

Jodi, you're absolutely right! Aaron is a genius infrastructure planner!

Anonymous

Idea about the future towers; as work is being done around the, i.e. the lawn and lake, keep an eye out for the old stones. I’d venture to guess a lot of them are still in the immediate area. This could help save on costs and keeps them as original as possible:) I’m team towers all the way!

Anonymous

Stephanie, there may be evidence underneath the earth that covers the former tower sites, even if the complete foundations are no longer in situ. Careful excavation of the sites may tell you their approximate sizes. If the full foundations are intact you’ll have the exact dimensions.

Anonymous

Wonderful garden plans! Love Davey's idea of combining the rear terrace with the height of the chapel. The first time I saw the chapel about 18 months ago when I found your channel, I knew it needed a terrace but didn't think of connecting it to the rear of the main range of buildings. It will be a big deal to do it, but a brilliant solution to the ground levels.

Anonymous

The menfolk of the chateau shine all the brighter when they are doing what they love and are appreciated for their knowledge and gifts. Nick absolutely lit up when Stephanie said she was happy when he's there, Amaury is in his element and with all the wood (!) and all the support his heart desires, and Davy has settled into an easy groove and his professionalism is at the fore after seeming a bit stiff and uncertain at first in the swirling activity of the chateau. Brava Stephanie and Nati for holding space for these men to be their best selves.

Anonymous

LOVE hearing from Nick about the forest//trees/plants.

Jason Dubey

Hi Stephanie, thank you for the awesome update! This was very interesting and informative. Having visited Lelande and meeting all of you, the vlogs and updates are doubly enjoyable! I can't wait for the future swimming pool. Keep up the good work! Your love of Lelande is palpable!! Best Regards and Happy Holidays! Jason Dubey

Anonymous

Heat in the chapel: in Portugal we use propane tank heaters in the winter. They are very cost effective, can be rolled from room to room and would work wonderfully in the chapel as requires no electricity. I believe the one I own was made in Germany and the brand is called, “HotSpot”. I recommend this heater. I have had mine 11 years and it’s quality is tried and true. Random pool table: Once you have over it out of the grande salon and until you have it drilled for the modern pool pockets it would be a lovely table to set up the PlayMobile. You have such an impressive collection that would be wonderful to have out of Nárnia and available for all to enjoy year round.

Denise Behrends

I’m holding out hope that the stone towers will be prioritized to be restored sooner rather than later. Of all the elements within the garden plans, the restoration of the stone towers does feel the most historically significant. When your vision, Stephanie, comes together with the expertise and creativity of everyone on your team, along with the backing of your patrons, anything is possible! Although it may take time and ingenuity to restore the stone towers as depicted on the original engravings, I would stay true to your dream.

Anonymous

It was so nice to see the full plan. Dave’s has done a beautiful job of planning it all out. Look forward to seeing more areas progress.

Anonymous

Wow so lucky to have Davy… I love his vision for all of the Château grounds and I love that down the road the towers are still an idea that may come true, I think it would be honoring to the history of the Château to have those put back 1 day … great vlog

Anonymous

I love you all!!

Anonymous

You keep us all dreaming Stephanie. A great update! the advent calendar videos are so enjoyable. Thanks for all you do!

Anonymous

Oh....the sheep, I miss them. LOL And Phillip, more woodland inserts!!!

Anonymous

Thank you for the informative update! Davey continues to amaze me... the ability to have vision and practicality at the same time is very rare, indeed! How you juggle all of these often conflicting projects is beyond me, Stephanie!

Anonymous

Thank you, Philip! Access for equipment/yard machines/diggers and more has been a big concern of mine all along. "Never close off access." Also, emergency equipment access, eg ambulances, fire trucks to the back facade of the chateau/chapel, heaven forbid!

Anonymous

First things first! It was so nice to be able to airplay the YouTube video straight to my tv without getting buffering ever 10seconds…. So good to see the full plans of the Garden together on one printout, the two towers would look lovely reinstated, but definitely need to be the last things to do. Maybe when the lake gets reinstated, you could put in the foundations for towers? As the lake edge will need work doing anyway, then the foundation’s could have gravel on top and urn/planter for now…. Im still not sold on the barn courtyard being planted over, I feel it should reflect its past use. Cobbled or a pebble design “the lalande peacock motif”, but as stated it will be the very last thing to do and there’s many a year for minds to be changed….

Hello 🙂 I am wondering If you have talked to the previous owners after you started planning for the renovations? Maybe they have some insight about the original history of some of the features In your renovations. Or maybe they have histories about things happening In chautau, that can be helpfull and fun to take In to the design. ❤️🏰❤️

Anonymous

Hello again 😀 I was thinking….. it would kind of be awesome If you made a woodlands creature building/temple on the Island In the lake 🦔🦔🦔🥰

Andi_ish

Hello, Stephanie! I quite enjoyed revisiting the plans today. I actually have a question about something in the the Chateau Dairies episode that just came out. You mentioned when speaking to the architect about restoring a window and putting in a statue in the other bricked up space. A new window and a statue sounds lovely (I am all about restoration of original features!), but so much thought had gone into getting the windows and Juliet balconies very symmetrical. It seems like restoring those spaces would throw that off quite drastically (or perhaps I cannot properly picture it). Just wondering if that was just a random idea to add to the the planning commission blueprints as a 'just in case' or if you had been thinking about that quite extensively? Merry Advent to all!

Anonymous

Enjoyed the update on the Chateau! Things are certainly moving ahead (apart from the chapel 🤷‍♀️🙏🏻. If I was Ian I’d be using one of those mechanic car trolleys to slide under the floor on his belly. And perhaps Kirstie needs fingerless gloves for her working hand. Here’s some Christmas songs from Australia to enjoy! https://youtu.be/fCNvZqpa-7Q https://youtu.be/BOWtK6HYCSE Merry Advent!

I'm loving your Advent Calendars past and present videos.. they are bringing me so much joy as I usually am alone for Christmas..thank you and God bless 🙏✌️

Wow I am so looking forward to visiting in the summer. 🥰

Anonymous

It was so interesting to see the plans of La Lande. I feel that putting a hedge along the front would spoil the view of the chateaux as you arrive along the road towards it. It was so lovely to see it when we visited this summer. I also think you could incorporate a subtle image from Stephanie's Dad's paintings in the garden. Such as a flowerbed in the shape of a curved triangular shaped face or any other detail. Also symbols of the peacocks beauty or feather designs would be good. I think although some elements of the past are good elements of the recent past and now are also good and should be included.

Love seeing the plans , very exciting……I have a question, did I see a DYI episode about work being done on the natural swimming pool ❓I am really enjoying the Advent shows but also worry you are going to get run down again…..take care of yourself❣️

I’m new to Patreon and don’t know how to reach the community of LaLande, but I would love to trade plants and seeds as I have fallen into the addiction of gardening this past year! Is it just in the comments?

I'm sure someone else has said this, but if you need to redo the slope of the lawn, maybe you want to do that first, and then use the top soil from that project to fill in the top soil for the jardin angalise?

Lovely to see the plans,I think getting on top of chateau repairs has to be the most important before major expense on other things.you have done so much in the 15 years it must be good to now have a clear picture.

To save you money can the top soil not be got from your land like the sloping lawn.

Can anyone please tell me when to expect the welcome card? It's been around 6 months and I was just wondering when I could expect it. Thanks so much!

I have been contributing since April and have not received a card yet.

Love the plans…just checking (maybe I missed it?), but does the plan include the orangery Stephanie once mentioned? Or does it just show where the terrace would continue outside of the kitchen?
