Hi Stephanie, thank you for sharing your beautiful life with us. 🤍

Anonymous

Congratulations! In the 19th century celery was considered a luxury vegetable.

Anonymous

Stephanie, thank you so much for all the attention you provide to your patrons. I truly feel that my contribution is making a difference. More than that, you make me feel that I matter and involved with the projects. That means so much. This past year has been so difficult, but you and that gorgeous Chateau inspires me and gives me hope. Thank you!

Anonymous

I bought a pump action spray bottle to water my seedlings, seems to work fine, bought it at Leclerc Bricolage for about 12 euros. Great news about the sweet peas, over the years mine have never come up, I planted three packets the other day, new region, new garden so fingers crossed ! xoxoxo

Anonymous

It's nice to know so many nice people through our association at Lalande.

Anonymous

Stephanie Do you have any plans to sell merchandise such as tshirts, stationery, or China with LaLonde images?

Anonymous

Yes, a spray bottle or mister is great for seedlings. Love it!

Anonymous

Such fun to see, because it is still winter here in North Idaho. If there are holes in the bottom of the seedling cups, then you can put water in the tray and let them drink from the bottom up(?)

Anonymous

I feel like Dan's getting pushed out :(

Anonymous

Ahh Is Dan moving on? 😥

Anonymous

Stephanie, your voice is exquisite and so is Jenny’s handwriting!💖💖💖💖

Anonymous

Stephanie is there a hose that can go in the greenhouse? There are mister nozzles for seeds. I would send one but not sure the hose size there, etc. Otherwise, a spray bottle works well for tiny seedlings.

Anonymous

Wow. She is a force to be reckoned with in the garden. So organized and passionate. This will be an exciting spring.

Evelyn McElroy

The tree surgeon was totally fascinating. It’s so exciting to see all of the work being done and Spring right around the corner!

Anonymous

With regards to the uncooperative watering can and the seedlings, I use a spritzer (spray) bottle to mist delicate seedlings. Maybe that would work for you. Given the number of seedlings, maybe 3-5 spritzer bottles would be useful.

Anonymous

PS I loved seeing all the projects being worked on! Beautiful symphony of restoration! 🎶

Anonymous

Maybe at one point you already explained about all your english helpers and workers/tradesmen and why they came to France and where they live, is your area 'rich' in Brits ? xoxo

Julia Cobb

This is absolutely marvelous! What a difference €€€ can make. It’s wonderful seeing such essential work being done and soon completed. I’m so happy to see work being done on the fruit trees, I’ve been worried about them for some time. Cannot wait for Scotsman’s apartment to be completed as well as the outside drainage. Drainage has certainly been a time consuming redo.

Anonymous

Best one yet.

Anonymous

Just Fabulous I can’t wait to be able to make plans to visit

Anonymous

Thank you for a great video, Stephanie! It’s so uplifting to see all the exciting projects 😊

Anonymous

Amazing activity all over the place. ⭐🤗⭐

Anonymous

I use a spritzer as well and it’s much gentler on those delicate seeds and seedlings. Great idea!

Anonymous

Fabulous update. I hope Dan is still staying and the others joining him are to help while Isabelle is still away. Delighted with the ongoing renovations and decluttering. I think the plans for the lower apartment are very exciting. The woods look so much better and thankfully the chapel will be save from possible fallen trees. I was confused about the drains as the camera never panned down to show what you were talking about but hopefully it will be shown in a regular episode. All in all its fantastic that so much is now happening after so long. 👍

Anonymous

The energy at Lalande is palpable! We can feel it all the way to the US! It’s so lovely seeing all the happenings and to feel a wee part of them. How on earth do you find such interesting people to work with? So. Much. Fun.

Anonymous

This was great. Holy cow how impressive. I was wondering if you could throw a thank you party for all of these hard working contractors? They are helping and yes are getting paid but a party to thank them and acknowledge all that they are helping to accomplish would be fun to see.

Anonymous

Of course he isnt. But he doesnt only just work at Lalande

Anonymous

Lichen is not like mistletoe, in that it isn't parasitic so it isn't taking any nutrients from the fruit trees and doesn't penetrate the bark so it shouldn't be any harm. However, if you want to minimize lichen just keep the trees pruned and cleared around it to let in lots of light and oxygen. Enjoyed the update!

Anonymous

It’s great to see Jenny maintaining momentum in the garden. You can never have too many helpers in the Garden🌼

Anonymous

Yay for more gardeners! Love the progress so far and it’s only barely spring (here it’s definitely still winter... -26 today!).

Anonymous

So lovely to see so much work going on can't wait to see all the new apartments and renovations

Anonymous

How adorable is Jenny! And she has such lovely handwriting. So what is the next step for the downstairs loo? The digging, the french drain plans, the cistern, were all quite the detour!

Anonymous

Alouette appears to be the french name for Larkspur

Anonymous

I’m so glad to see targets being met, great job Stephanie. Looking forward seeing the ‘afters’.

Anonymous

hi, thx for the video update! exciting to see so much happening! i'm a new patreon from austria, on youtube i comment as "ariel blumenduft" and i have been following the chateau diaries from the start, bless you holy algorithm of the youtubes! when i watched the last episode of the chateau diaries and we saw the room of doom being cleared out, i was a bit disappointed that you didn't show more of the "treasure" that must have been in there, i just love rummaging through old stuff, but we saw a bit today and i think the wooden doors are beautiful! i also got very excited about the beautiful wall appliques that phillipp found in that wood storage box! how is the spring cleaning going? what else did you find? no matter if it's trash or treasure, i'm interested in it! can't wait till you clear the attic, please show us whatever you'll find! also, i understand that you no longer set goals on patreon and i think that is a wise decision. you currently have so many things cooking and a lot of it has been delayed due to covid so it's good to concentrate on and finish what has already been started. BUT - and i don't think i even need to tell you this - don't forget to have fun and buy some beautiful stuff, so here comes my suggestion: spend some of that patreon money and buy some beautiful antique urns for either on top of the columns at the chateau gate or on top of the handrails of the grand staircase in the garden that would add SO MUCH BLING to the chateau! and maybe a pair of antique stone lions for outside the entrance hall door? i'm pretty sure something like that would be quite expensive but that's what we're here for, decadence and beauty! speaking of decadence and beauty: what is happening with the remodeling of the petit salon? and the powder room? i am excited to see what you'll come up with! i heard your plans for the winter salon and i must admit that i'm a bit sad, it's my favourite room at lalande, i love the green walls and how dark and cosy and victorian it is but i'm sure the library will be beautiful as well. everything you touch turns into something beautyful! have you thought about turning a completely different area in the chateau into the library? maybe an area or a room that is not currently being used? like what about the area where the costume cabinet is? on video it looks big enough for book cases and a seating area if the cupborads were moved? anyway, enough of my unsolicited advice, and irrelevant opinions , thanks for your videos and keep up the great work, hugs from austria :)

Anonymous

WOW!! Gerry's Apartment will be epic!

Anonymous

It's amazing to see the transformation that Lalande is going through since you started this vlog! Now it is like a community with all sorts of people there, and us viewers :)

Anonymous

Is anyone having difficulty to play the video?

Anonymous

PS: dear phillipp, as much as we all love seeing stephanie, when you are filming her and she explains and points at things, that should be a clue for you to film the things she is pointing at and talking about ;)

Anonymous

These are my favorite types of videos! I love seeing the hustle and bustle in these patron videos the energy is just so great! I of course also love the more stylized and narrative videos that everyone gets week to week on the channel, but these are such a treat as a patron to be able to feel fully up to date and in nearly real time. Thank you Stephanie for continuing to keep us all in the loop with the exciting things all around you!

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie, I love this style of video! It's amazing seeing you just walk around and show what progress is being made. I wondered if you would consider showing us the progress of the downstairs loo and terrace. Have there been any developments with the carpentry for the Winter Salon? 💛💛💛💛💛

Anonymous

How truly beautiful to see how plans are emerging into fruition, blooming lovely I extenuate. I had a vision of the moat, bridge and lake in all its glory, maybe soon perhaps xx

Kimberly Dale

Your gardening style Stephanie is a lot like my own... I 😂 Laughed so hard when You watered the Sweet Peas

Kimberly Dale

I got my 2nd card in the mail today by Michael Potts...Was such a beautiful surprise 🥰ThankYou ThankYou 🙏🪴

Kimberly Dale

Love to all at Lalande... Philip must return... I can’t imagine Lalande without him now🥰

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie, Lichen is said to be clean air and damp areas? I have a lot in my garden. There as several different types. That tree, looks like plum, needs a good prune to get rid of damaged and crossing limbs, especially where the fungus was growing. Also seems to grow where mistletoe grows freely. in mistletoe areas! That tree looks like plum and they flower at different times. Xx

Anonymous

How marvelous to see such forward momentum! Thanks for conveying the sense of excitement with all this industry Stephanie. I have a couple of questions I hope someone can answer for me: did I miss the video that explained that the charitable status for the chateau has already been established? And vis-a-vis planting sunflowers in the first two beds when you enter the garden, don't they grow to enormous heights - won't that obscured the view of the rest of the beds? Or is that the intent?

Anonymous

You are gaining momentum Stephanie, I think we in for a year of abundant transformation.

Anonymous

👍🍀🎖

Anonymous

So excited to see the garden come to life with the warmer weather coming! And the new room addition/remodels are so exciting to be apart of. Thank you for sharing ❤️

Anonymous

idk know about the sunflowers but you didn't miss the video about the financial update, i have been waiting for an update on that as well. i'm guessing either it's still in the works or there's just so much going on at the chateau that stephanie has lots of other stuff to show us and we need to be patient :)

Anonymous

Thank you Stephanie for a nice behind the scenes video. I love to se all the boy’s big toys being rolled out at the moment. 🚜.

Anonymous

Beautiful, especially the greenhouse. I Iove it when seeds spring to life! By the way, the Alouette seeds are Larkspur in English. Very much like Delphinium, but not as sturdy-looking. Bravo Stephanie! 💕 By the way, I love how all of the British are slowly-but-surely starting to appear, each with their own specialties. It is a wonderful sight x

Anonymous

Hmm - I've been a patron for 6 months and have received 0 cards in the mail.

Anonymous

I am so excited to see all the work that is being done.

Anonymous

Huge congratulations on your new seedlings, Stephanie! So exciting to see all the work going on. It’s as if the chateau is waking from a long sleep.

Anonymous

Yes, I was hoping he would pan down to the bottom of the building. Hopefully he will get better if he is staying on long term. I much prefer Stephanie's filming style and the balance of her talking to the artisans and then filming herself.

Anonymous

I was told once that Lichen on the trees is an indication of clean air so I don’t think it’s anything to worry about. The gardens are going to look spectacular with all the work going on there. So glad the Sweet Peas are coming up! X

Anonymous

Can you tell me was the tax free status granted yet? Would love to have a list of the things that are happening in the Château this month it’s so exciting

Anonymous

just found these magnificent beasts online and they scream: " buy us, stephanie!" . in my humble opinion the look of despair on their faces is just because they haven't found a new home at chateau de lalande yet! they want to live on either side of your entrance door! https://www.englishsalvage.co.uk/antique-19th-century-pair-of-stone-lions_item_25171

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie, much interested in the logging operation and Selmar's plans for the cut trees. You said he was planning a log cabin in the wood shop behind the tennis court? Are there other plans to mill your trees into beams or planks or other lumber? Or panelling inside the chateau?

Anonymous

What a beehive of activity...so fun to watch , how is the automatic watering system for the garden coming ?

Anonymous

I feel that with every month you are growing, evolving and becoming more focused -- so good to see!

Anonymous

Did the surveyor locate the geothermal system? Is there a drawing or plan of it we could see? What a wonderful investment in this old place and the planet. So interesting, thank you!

Anonymous

So enjoyed this video! Thank you for sharing all the excitement!

Anonymous

Love the variety of people involved at Lalande. So far, Nick the tree surgeon takes the cake! Reminds me of shoppers in my local super market here in the Las Vegas Valley. The world would be a dull place if we were all alike (and I’m a chubby retired white guy, which is about as generic as you can get, haha!).

Anonymous

Is the tennis court going? If so, let’s get rid of the fencing at the top of the garden wall!

Anonymous

Also, the lichen shouldn’t harm your fruit trees, but once you clean up those tiny branches and suckers you will allow more light and airflow into the tree which should reduce some of the lichen anyway 😘

Anonymous

It is wonderful and exciting to see all the work being done all over the chateau! The green house to the garden, to the future apartments, to the lake, to the forest behind the precious chapel, the dry moat, and the drainage along the walls and the future work on the terrace . I like to think my tiny contribution is helping. It makes me feel I'm in not only your dream come true, but mine too! Don't loose that spirit that has brought you to this point , continue with your inspiring , fun, and beautifully adventure filled and informative videos! Evolve, but don't change your format which is so refreshing and so you as the Chatelaine of de La Lande. ~k

Anonymous

What a lot of lovely people you have working for you or helping you & they are all doing it with a passion. Absolute joy watching this & I’ve only been a Patron for the last 12 months ...you must be feeling wonderful Stephanie to see what is being done & also what is going to be done in the years to come. Thanks for sharing all this in your wonderful way xx

Anonymous

Lee, I lived the last 6 years in Las Vegas, so I know exactly what you're talking about!

Anonymous

I really miss Isabelle but I’m glad she’s not there to see the “tree swing down past the chapel” when they cut it down. 😳😂Might be a bit too much for her😬 LOVE LOVE LOVE all the progress. Stephanie it’s happening! It’s really happening!! 😆

Brenda Mcgee

Wow Stephanie such amazing work happening loved the greenhouse Jennie doing a wonderful job greenfingers too the apartments are going to be extraordinary just love doors the chateau alive with sound work in progress a man’s haven chainsaws diggers so happy Stephanie we can help you fulfill your and your parent’s dream of restoring Lalande to grand magnificent love this vlog such a treat my day is complete❤️😍🥰👏👏🌸🌸🌺🌺

Anonymous

Once completed, I would love to see the diagram of the garden beds. It's very interesting to see the development of the whole garden! Curious about the bees in the tree. Can't wait for it to be sculpted into a peacock! 🤣

Anonymous

It's amazing how much is going on right now and wonderful to see the progress of so many plans at once. Thanks for sharing the update with us. It's going to be an exciting spring with so much to look forward to watching come to fruition :)

Anonymous

Love all the updates going on and its so exciting that there are so many, it will make a huge impact!

Anonymous

Super exciting seeing all the progress! I love seeing all of the personalities coming together to make it all happen too! What will all the cut down trees be used for? Will Selmar amaze us with his crafty creations? Will they become furniture or firewood? There's so much! It should last you a while! I can never get enough of your videos! Thank you for sharing with us all!

Anonymous

Was wondering if there are any plans to renew the benches in the grounds and garden. Might be nice to consider a formal type of seating such as a Lutyens bench near the Chateaux buildings and maybe something more rustic in the woods. Maybe Selmar could make something suitable?. Nothing worse than going for a walk in the woods and finding there is nowhere to sit down and enjoy the vistas and views. There are 60 acres after all😊

Anonymous

Lichen will not harm your trees, but it also doesn’t grow on robust healthy trees. So it may be an indication that a tree is in a decline for some reason unrelated to the lichen. Removal causes more harm than good. You can try pruning to see if it changes the circumstances for the tree.

Anonymous

We share in your joy seeing things done around the Chateau....it's so tangible now Steph. you must be thrilled - as it is also for us seeing the incredible change. Guessing we all are thinking how wonderful it would be to visit and see for ourselves one day - blessings and love LeLande

Anonymous

Hello, just been back watching some of the old Q&A patron videos and there's something I'd love to know if you've ever considered! I think it would be amazing for the Chateau to have a ballroom. I know you have such extensive attics, so I was thinking of your converting one of them. Imagine live music and dancing on a good floor! I'm sure Selmar would be over the moon :) The workshops you could host!

Anonymous

Found this article on lichen and moss https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/fegen/fruit-tree-lichen-and-moss.htm

Anonymous

Glad to see all the work going on. You are rightly proud of all your success! God bless you all.

Anonymous

Wow! So much is happening! It's great to see. I'm so happy for you. I think the gardens are going to be so beautiful in the next few months.

Anonymous

So many people so many jobs new hires and a new dog to maybe show up in the videos:) thank you for keeping us updated. Love the progress and hello to the Ians

Anonymous

so exciting! Amazing

Theresa Romero

Lichen is self- sustaining, so does not harm trees. However, it tends to grow on trees that are in decline. Good to have an arborist check the tree, to find the problem.

Theresa Romero

It’s so exciting to see all that’s being done. It appears all jobs are being handled very well. How fun it all is! 💗

Anonymous

Stephanie, I am so happy for you! Exciting plans at work. Thank you for sharing all of it with us💕

Anonymous

So fantastic to see all the progress!! Spring brings new life in a multitude of ways!! 🌸🌳The old brick floors in the stables are just spectacular, I don’t think I’d noticed them before. Wow!! Also, just wanted to mention that artichokes are a massive commercial crop in California. They require mild winters, and cool misty summers, so they are grown by the tons along our moody coastline, sold en masse globally. Perhaps the winters and summers are too harsh for a healthy crop in central France? Anyway, LOVED seeing the garden updates, and Jenny seems like a lovely lady. What we all need now is a good long video of Stephanie in a floral dress riding that quad through the wending groves of trees, along the riverbanks, and across all the general grounds of Lalande!!! 😁 Wishing all at the Chateau a wonderful rest of the week. 🌼🌼🌼

Anonymous

omg he's probably in earlier videos that I've missed but the tattooed pierced tree doctor is my new favorite character! Brilliant!

Anonymous

Thank you so much.. I knew delphinium wasn’t right but couldn’t remember what it was. Larkspur, of course x

Anonymous

Amazing to see all the work going on. If you’re to have a season this year, when does the major work have to stop?

Denise Behrends

It’s exciting to see the work in progress on so many projects!

Daniel Hammond

Thank you for the video. At first, I was worried about the trees getting the chop, but now I think you are making the right decision. they are just too close to the chapel.

Anonymous

Congratulations Stephanie, on your Patreon placing, you deserve it! I’m a bit confused with the layout for the two new apartments that Ian is working on. How will the bottom one be private if the only access to Gerrys is via the staircase in it. Or will Gerrys apartment become a double story?

Anonymous

I did first off, it kept cutting off at Jenni in the Greenhouse, but corrected itself on the 4th try. Hope yours sorted its act out 😊

Anonymous

I was worried when you first started talking about another gardener coming in, that Dan was leaving! But I'm so happy to hear he's getting help, and that you'll be able to keep the big projects going along with the walled garden maintenance!

Anonymous

I like these video's the most. It is so great to see all the progress. Thank you Stephanie these video's connect the most I think. Lots of love Andie

Anonymous

ha, I'd thought the same but figured I'd misunderstood. Glad I wasn't the only one! ;D

Anonymous

so exciting to see all the progress being made around the chateau. Thank you for showing us dear Stephanie x

Anonymous

So great to see it all happening x

Anonymous

What a handsome chap that dan the gardener is, 😊

Anonymous

its so good Stephanie exciting to watch all the things in the garden love your plants coming up you go girl your blogs keep me sane .xlove jackie

Anonymous

Stephanie, You must invest in a quad bike 😉 imagine racing through the grounds at speed. Mummy would love it! Haha 💛💛💛💛💛

Anonymous

LOVE everything that is happening at the Chateau! I just have a question about Gerry's apartment, is it funded with patreon money? If so I don't feel like that is fair, even though I LOVE Gerry. It is the same with Michaels house from Doing It Ourselves.

Anonymous

I love all the vlogs but these recent ones have been so wonderful. Really, the greatest reward is seeing your excitement and gratitude. I love it!!!

Anonymous

I can't wait to see those tall trees taken down safely around the chapel. Exciting how everything is moving along now! Love these updates, thanks so much Stephanie :)

Anonymous

Very exciting time at the Château! And I am so excited for you all! Just like a beehive… Lots of activity!

Anonymous

I thought the funds for renovation were used to bring the chateau tip top for generations to come. Especially making the floor sound and making the room able to use. That apartment would likely have many inhabitants over the course of the renovation funding money. It's nice you've gotten invested in the specifics of renovating the chateau...not sure if I'd go so far as to claim unfairness, Jarvis is at minimum an open book. I'm thinking of this because of the tabloid website that really jumps to rip the chateau owners over any possibly imagined slight...some of their posters have shard that they're on the patreon page, too. I have read some of their content a couple times...it's as ugly in specifics as Michael Petherick claimed. A few posters seemed to be flat out looney and delirious over any possible lie Jarvis might have made. I found it intense and reaching, at the least. I hope you're not one of the fans getting lost in that site, doesn't seem like an overly productive use of spare time. Our planet has the longest list of real and actual problems needing serious attending to ....plus it's actually scaring some of the chateau inhabitants, making them curb their openness and what they're willing to share with us. I think a lot of fans who've benefited from the beauty shared notice some of the rural carefreeness from the early episodes is gone...that's one of the things I thought might happen because of the harsh accusatory statements from that tabloid website. Bit of a bummer, wish the people on that site would realize what they're crushing. If you're on that site yourself, I'd caution that habits of dark hearts can be hard to shake....it was pretty ugly on tattle...the US govt has very recently funded studies with psilocybin for healing pervasive emotional illness. Not to imply you're emotionally ill, I'm thinking of what I saw on the tattle tabloid, your step to claim unfairness reminded me of it. The study had better results than they ever expected by a huge margin, unprecedented success compared to any other traditional pharmaceutical prior. What with the progressiveness of the West Coast, it will very likely be available on the market in 10 years. Makes one wonder if tabloids will still be around in 15 years.

Anonymous

That's interesting, makes me think of all the trees I've seen with lichen. I wonder what the arborist would find out there? Nice tip ;)

Anonymous

My sentiments exactly. When she showed the apartments starting, I was totally surprised, I thought those would be a ways off because so many others tasks have been mentioned. I actually thought one of the scheduled works for March she'd mentioned would be all the paneling ordered from the joinery. But really that makes the most sense, start the apartments alongside all the other projects since there will be so many apartments in the end. That does mean there is the excitement still to come, of the joinery people coming back with more information. My #1 of interest is decorating the fixed terrace and situating the seating/ eating areas.

Anonymous

Yes, I very much miss Isabelle and want her and Percy to get their vaccines and get back. Their perspective contributes dimension. I love how Isabel gets heated about the little things, and how Stephanie handles it. I've been doing those tactics with my mom the last several years with glorious results, she can be a full unharnessed nag on the worst days, so it's good to see different peoples' strategies to deflate these types of situations.

Anonymous

hmmm, with what you said about the artichokes, I wonder if they could install one of those mini hoop houses hanging low over the artichokes? Or something else like that if it would help. I'll have to keep my eye out for some CA artichokes

Anonymous

Thank-you so much for the update! It is wonderful to see the activity, excitement and progress! A question: it seems as though the irrigation in the garden is still an issue. What are the plans to remedy this?

Anonymous

I had an exam until midnight last night, and was cramming all day. So of course I came on here to watch the new video update afterward last night to wind down from all the stress. I think I fell asleep before the update ended, bc this morning I was reading comments about the tattooed guy and the quad and had no clue what that meant. I'm all caught up now, and yes, those two are utterly spectacular, Stephanie, you should come up with more trees to manage. I can already see Michael Potts strong arming you into his new play toy quad buzzing around the chateau acreage. Does anyone else notice how many people are employed in this update, or at the chateau?? That's AMAZING, all this extra funding will really help your region and trickle down through the economy. Rural areas truly need this and the impact can show quick. So nice. Employment is always a plus for all the local families. Go Chateau Lalande, we can witness the patron generosity being carried forward.

Anonymous

Thanks for the update! It must be both exhilarating and daunting to manage all the concurrent projects. It's nice to see that the insulation and drainage projects are being done in a way that will enable more apartments to be built, and to improve the bedrooms that already exist in the Chateau. It's apparent that more housing for all your long-term residents will be needed when the B&B opens again.

Anonymous

Regarding lichens in an orchard - they should be benign but that much lichen is an indicator of trees in decline. They may want some super-fertilizer and a spray with copper to reduce the lichen.

Anonymous

Excellent, fun to see it all happening! Inspiring, I shall make lots happen around here too this summer...

Anonymous

After one year of watching Chateau Diaries I was just able to become a patron this Monday! I am so so excited to see all of the behind the scene. I have been very naughty and already watched all of the videos from the beginning ... it was really emotional to see everything unfolding. And I am so glad I can see more of the chateau. You are all so inspirational. I am definitely decluttering my own place tomorrow!

Anonymous

I’m super curious about this too. I’m French and I never knew we have so much Brits in the countryside of France !

Anonymous

I’m also curious about the French drain. I don’t know anything about it. I’m curious how it works.

Anonymous

I think she said that the work on the terrace will start the second half of march. I’m super excited because it’s a beautiful terrace. And for the winter salon she said she is still waiting for the quotes (not sure it’s the right way to write it) for the library.

Anonymous

I’m really interested about the garden beds too. I would love to do the same in my walled garden, AKA my tiny terrace with huge walls and almost no direct light 😂 well I did managed to get a few tomatoes and I made a canopy of green beans (I was so proud) 😂

Anonymous

I believe some plans for the attics were mentioned in some of the recent vlogs (last month or two). I honestly don't remember if it was a solid plan or just talk about possibilities.

Anonymous

I think I remember that they have a working tap in the green house and they’re going to take water from there to do the irrigation system.

Anonymous

I noticed in one of the very early vlogs that you have loads of homemade cans. I would be very happy to see a video of some of this canning happening. I’m really interested in what you are producing with your own garden. I find the idea of using every part of a veggie or fruit super interesting. I do freeze apple peels and cores to make apple jelly. I also freeze veggies scraps and peels to make vegetable broth and I keep radishes leaves to had in soup or to make pesto. I also forage for blackberry’s in a forest near Brussels to make jelly.

Anonymous

Wonderful to see spring unfolding - and to think we have been following you intently for a year now (almost) - marvellous to see so much happening to the chateau.

Anonymous

Stephanie, I understand you want to help your British fellow citizens, but speaking French as well a you do, I wonder why you never, ever, hire French workmen? Are they not as reliable? Ah, and your 1/2 French too, so...

Anonymous

the guys who made and installed the new doors in the entrance halle were french, the lady who restored the chapel windows is french.....?

Anonymous

a good idea is to do companion planting as well as planting mixed nutrient requirement plants in order to preserve the soil quality

Anonymous

Thats not always proven, I think in Monty Don's French Garden series he visited a garden that has solely been planted with onions by monks for the last 400+ years. Companion planting is mostly only good for pest control if that's a problem, crop rotation if there is ph problems with the soil. But I trust that Dan knows exactly what hes doing.

Anonymous

Love Nick the Tree. What a great guy. Hope he gets an invite to the Easter party!!

Anonymous

Hello - I’m new to the Patreon Account and so excited to be here.

Anonymous

Well done to all your wonderful competent trades, they all know their stuff xxx

Anonymous

Hahaha, yes, all British expats are being employed, but they are in France! This bothers me to be honest, French workers are suffering, especially in rural areas.

Melissa LaFond

So excited to be back as a patreon! Things are getting better here in California and work is returning to the studios where I work doing hair. Glad to have my place back at my favorite Chateau ❤️ Such exciting things are happening and I cannot wait for all the Lake work to really start.

Anonymous

Ever since I learned you could sing I've been waiting with bated breath to hear, "O Mio Babbino Caro.” The seedlings may or may not have been moved, but I was. To tears in fact. All it took was 4 seconds. I felt growth in My Heart and it nurtured My Soul. Thank You. xo Lee

Anonymous

They were without one for a while but mention someone who had retired or lest in a much earlier vlog

Anonymous

Just so very happy for you Stephanie! Awesome to watch as someone's dream comes true!

Anonymous

Oh, also, if the Sunflowers are the tall type, won't they block the view of the rest of the walled garden when you enter? Would think they would be better planted against a wall for extra support.

Anonymous

So excited to see so much work being done, the tree surgeon has opened the forest and let in light, the chapel will love the trees gone and let the light see the back of the chapel once more. When do they come to start the terrace? The Ian's are doing a marvellous job, with the internet, and making two new apartments, Gerry's is going to look wonderful, new windows are going to let the light flood in. How fabulous to see all the activities going on it’s amazing what goes on especially with the weather being so good. To see the trees being sorted by the Chapel is great plus it gives you wood for the winter fires, once that group at the back of the Chapel are cut down the view will be really great. Will you be getting more chickens or are you waiting for Selmar to build the hen houses? Is it possible to date when filmed your vlogs, as one minute Phillip is going away and the next he is filming so is he back, or was that before he went? some scenes just seem out of order🤷‍♀️ You’ve certainly done very well on your seed planting the garden is going to be glorious in the summer all that colour. Will you do any bottling of your vegetables? Shall look forward to more vlogs just so much to see - thank you for keeping us informed real pleasure to watch.🍾🥂💕

Hello Ralph and Ann! This is Natalia writing. There's plans to sell some merchandising in the near future, and I'm sure Stephanie will let you all know about it when we have it! Thanks so much for your support! <3

when is the chapel work starting? Everything is looking wonderful and I cannot wait to see the finished results.

I was inspired to look up my china after watching Stephanie explain the history of different shops she went into or of a certain plate she owned. Sometimes it takes a little "nudge" to find things in our own space to keep us busy. Oh, and yes, I did the same when I joined....binge watched everything!!

Glad your are back to work. I have worked all the way through and although that caused a different type of worry, I at least had an income. Welcome back.

How are you doing to find so many British people in your French countryside ? They all run a business in France ? It's incredible, it's like being in England... never a French around ! Good for you because this way you can all understand each others. But it's strange.

Stephanie speaks French as do others in the household, I don’t think it’s a matter of communication but preference, versatility and availability for what I understand

Michael, are you ok?

Thank you Stephanie and team. Wonderful video as always. I love the garden plans and Jenny is so interesting. You have a great team of skilled workers there, and although I love trees I’m so glad those next to chapel are coming down, I would worry every time there was a windy night! Keep up the good work and very much appreciated ❤️

I'd pay close attention to the lichen asap! In the American South, the lichen is.Spanish Moss, which can be fatal to the host. You'd be wise to speak to neighbor gardeners to discuss and solve, else an expert horticulturist would be worth consulting.

Anna Timm

Hi Owen! It’s highly unlikely to be spanish moss, which grows in tropical and subtropical humid climates, and in the US, doesn’t get further north than Virginia! In Northern California, we have a lichen called Lace Lichen that my southern grandmother allways confused with Spanish Moss. Anyway, the idea that Spanish Moss kills trees seems to be a bit of a misconception. University of Florida seems to have some good info on it if you have any trees with spanish moss you are concerned about: https://sfyl.ifas.ufl.edu/natural-resources/sustainability-spanish-moss/
