WOW.....great idea about that stove back splash.

Jane Nunn

Yes please Love Percy and Isabelle, miss seeing them.. I am so glad she made it!! I am so very very happy for them Stephanie.. You must miss her..

Jane Nunn

Why not leave as your father did remove numbers maybe and just have lines and all in one colour. It would be a shame to alter them. Only Oliver is the one to do this if he would be kind enough,, Steph this would be absolutely wonderful!! Your father would be in the kitchen forever then! how marvelous! I am sooo glad you showed us

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie, you mentioned that you would need to get your Father's designs digitized. May I recommend DS Colour labs in Manchester. I've used them several times in the past to digitize my photo negatives and old family photos. Hope this may be of use.

Anonymous

Even if we didn’t see the full transformation, we can see this corner of the remodel entrance hall! (And some sneak peak in the vlog) ! It is SPLENDID!! 🤩

Anonymous

Stunningly beautiful! You should make a video for Sundays at the Chateau about the mural. I am sure you will have someone qualified to help you volunteer! 💙

Anonymous

Do you follow "Starched and Crumpled" on Instagram, Stephanie? She gathers and sells amazing french fabrics and you would probably find some perfect panels for your new bedroom if you wanted to save the Fortuny yardage for large-area projects in the room!

Anonymous

Thank you for answering my long winded question about your land! 😉 I love the idea of the gardens expanding! It was very kind of the Marquis to plan for future parking as well. I think the forest is one of the most magical parts of the chateau so it is wonderful you have so much wooded area all around you. Thank you!

Anonymous

Gee wouldn't it be interesting to leave some of the tiles just hand sketched just as a remembers of art unfinised.

Anonymous

So glad to hear your mom made it to South Africa safely and is reunited with Percy. It's wonderful that they can be together at last. Thanks for sharing the drawings of the tiles. How special to be able to carry out your father's plans. It will look beautiful. :)

Anonymous

Didn't Angel do tiles of the Chataue for her kitchen?

Jane Nunn

My cousin in France has said France has gone straight into full lockdown, how will this affect you do you think?

Jane Nunn

Thats hilarious I remember the pigeon prints I have been following you when you very first started and only had about 7,000 followers!

Anonymous

What became of fixing the structure of the terrace and front of the Chateau? I thought the structural items had to be taken care of before the cosmetic items. BTW...........LOVE the court yard and driveways. What a remarkable improvement. FYI........I miss "Mummy" already. She used to respond to me on here. Loved her for that. lol

Anonymous

I am so glad to hear that Isabel made it safely to be with Percy. And it would be lovely to see some of the videos they have made of their reunion. I am also in awe of your father's talent and the beautiful scene he has made for the kitchen. I always appreciate all your hard work Stephanie and for allowing us along on this journey with you in restoring the Chateau.

Anonymous

Yes please, would love to see Mummy and Percy together on a separate vlog. Hopefully they would be back in Lalande very soon. Enjoying all you vlogs , with love from Miami...... Ms. Attrix. I’m very excited that I received the card from Lalande. It will have a special place in my house. God bless you all.

Anonymous

Wonderful update. Thanks S 🥂

Anonymous

Imagine if Spode printed the tiles 😍

Jane Nunn

Sounds like Natty is in the perfect spot to supervise! haha

Anonymous

Thank you Stephanie, another fabulous Q & A session. I'm delighted to hear that the heating is going to be supplemented with additional 'burners'. Does the back splash have to be ties. There are a number of companies that do glass backsplashes with designs on them. Your fathers design coukd be 'sandwiched' in a glass panel. Or you could look at replicating it in mosaic. I hope Hanni can get back to the Chateau soon and definitely before Christmas, maybe she could bring Gerry with her. I love the idea of a Sunday at the Chateau curtain making vlog. 🥰👍

Maria Soberanis

Art restorers are very good at not painting themselves into paintings but trying to keep the artists original intention intact. Also, I personally would love to see Mummy footage to see how she's getting on. Happy for her.

Anonymous

Perhaps a professional graphic artist could help with the tiles. Anyone out there???

Anonymous

The tile artwork is beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing the drawings. Yes please to an Isabel and Percy montage. So very happy she made it to S.A. - talk about divine intervention! Am THRILLED you’re moving forward with the non-profit scheme - this work is a saving France’s heritage and not paying full taxes seems a fair deal. I dream of your garden and getting my hands dirty and look forward to the world healing and opening up. Love and light ❤️🇨🇦

Anonymous

Just a thought on tiling behind the range in the kitchen, why not leave your fathers work unfinished? Keep the finished pieces in the blue, but then fade it into the pencil drawings? It would maybe mean doing some very fine changes so that it would work, but it would be as if you are looking through clouds/mist and it slowly becoming clear.... P.s Just clicked how to describe what I mean, so it had the look of an exposed fresco .

Anonymous

I wonder if it would be appropriate to make your fathers drawings into tiles as they are, without any changes at all, as it would signify his last work. I hope you don't mind me saying this as I'm sure you have very strong emotions in regard to this matter. I think it would be wonderful to see this project completed in his memory but of course you must do it the way you feel is right and when you are ready. His work is absolutely divine. With love

Georgette Jones

So nice to get reports on what is going on, love the backsplash idea, any news on the bigger refrigerator ❓

Anonymous

Wonderful Q&A. It was a thrill seeing your father's art for the tiles. What a fascinating and talented man he was. Thank you so much. Sending love from Toronto Canada 😊💜🇨🇦

Anonymous

Doors hidden in bookcases; very Young Frankenstein!

Anonymous

Great update. It's exciting seeing all your dreams soon coming into fruition, especially your father's tile art. I for one would love to see a Kat interview. She's so down to earth and so witty.

Anonymous

I would love interviews with Kat and Phillip

Anonymous

Oh yes yes yes PLEASE! Footage of Mummy and Percy would be awesome

Anonymous

Great video! So happy Isabelle was able to leave before the lockdown announcement today 💖

Anonymous

I’m pleased to hear that your mother and Percy are safe and enjoying their time together, would love to see some videos. The increasing case numbers in Europe are really alarming but I’m sure you are all staying safe and following the health advice from your Government. Corona virus has really shown us the good in some people and situations and certainly highlighted the crazy. 🇦🇺💕💐

Anonymous

Thank you Stephanie

Anonymous

I’m a patron because I love your story . I wanted more videos. So glad I joined.

Anonymous

Yes, I would love to know what Mummy and Percy have been up to. I am so happy that she arrived safely to South Africa! I was thinking about her all week wondering how she is!

Anonymous

We have been very careful this past year and are able to increase our donation amount for 2021. I hope it helps.

Anonymous

Wendy! We have had these in our homes too. Really works well!!!

Anonymous

How very thoughtful of you guys. Hoping to be able to do the same. Every little bit helps.

Anonymous

Wow, always discovering something new - your father's tiles are just so beautiful and poignant. I hope one day soon they'll be out where everyone can be delighted by them.

Anonymous

Great Q & A Stephanie!! You are such a delight. 🤗 If you have already made a personal list of “TO DO’s” can you please share it with us? What I mean is you are getting better at delegating so why not let the qualified VOLUNTEERS come to your rescue? It would be a win win situation. 🥰 We all love helping you & LaLande & you in return have more time filming & editing to bring us these wonderful vlogs! 😉 For instance a few areas I heard need of in the Q & A: *** Computer Graphical Artist to convert your fathers Art from paper to computer. *** Tiler to complete the Art backsplash. *** Curtain Seamstress to make curtains to your specifications. *** Librarian to get your new library organized. (sounds like this box is checked) 😁 *** Another Ian to install units in fireplaces heehee Just some ideas to make your life a bit less hectic. Hugs from the mitten State (Michigan, USA) 🤗

Michelle Morrison

Please do share Isabel and Percy adventures! That would be so fun to watch and share in their happiness!

Anonymous

Yes, yes, yes, yes I would love to see all of the videos that Mummy and Percy have sent. Please give them all our love!

Anonymous

What great news that Mummy and Percy are back together again. I hope they’ll share a video soon with Percy dressed in his dapper outfits. This is totally random but I was wondering what happened to the satellite Hanni bought? Has it been installed?

Anonymous

I love that, in any confrontation , you strive to see the other persons’s perspective. I have found this to be THE most important rule/skill in communications over my life so far ❤️

Anonymous

thank you for sharing your father's work and idea for the back splash. I can't wait to see your final decision. I'm also excited to see your curtain tutorial - how you do it, your thoughts on design. While we don't live in a Chateau, we have a 100+ year old home with very large windows and I might venture on making something more complex with sumptuous fabrics. You have my vote for an interview with Cat and Phillipe! Thank you again for sharing your life and home with us! Bisous!

Anonymous

Thank you so much Stephanie for bringing so much happiness to your videos..it truly helps me so much

Anonymous

I can’t wait to see what Isabelle and Percy filmed in South Africa!!

Anonymous

Can Natalie work for the nonprofit in the winter as an employee to help you get the work going?

Anonymous

Thank you Stephanie. You are always so gracious and kind and very generous with your time. I honestly don't know how you do it all. 💛

Anonymous

Thankyou for showing your fathers work for the kitchen , that’s the most beautiful addition ever and he’ll be in the kitchen always , i love it 🥰

Anonymous

I would LOVE to see lots and lots of those short videos pieced together of Isabel and Percy's adventures, even their day to day activities. It must be SO LOVELY for your mother to be reunited with her husband! And as a nonprofit, I agree with Harlan. You should be able to use a bit of the money from establishing a non-profit to pay for an employee to manage those funds, do the accounting, etc. Lastly, thank you SO MUCH for sharing your father's vision of the tiles for the kitchen. It's going to be absolutely fabulous when completed and I'm sending positive thoughts for finding just the right person to channel his incredible vision so they can all be completed just as you feel he would have wanted. Teresa

Anonymous

Stephanie, the mural is amazing - I love it so much! 💙

Anonymous

Yes please. I want ALL 56 videos from Isabelle and Percy. 😆🤣Thank you for another awesome update. Question: how many bats does the Batman count when the Batman counts your bats?? 🤣how many bats do you have?? Does the count change very much?

Anonymous

Thank-you so much for sharing the drawings for the tiles. I am quite smitten with your father's work and find that in every scene my eye searches first for one of his paintings. What a wonderful artist, and what a lovely tribute to complete his final project!

Anonymous

We should all come together and reenact the scene in which your father depicted! Bring on the jugglers, the musicians, and I’m here if you need a circus artist! 🥰

Anonymous

Well done Stephanie ,Yes to Mammies videos and I am sorry your holiday to Ireland was cancelled but times are hard at the moment for travel in Ireland so Stay Safe.

Anonymous

You are very fortunate to have Nati. It wouldn’t be good for her to be isolated in an “office”. I love it when you say, “she misses nothing ....”.

Anonymous

what wouldn't be considered part of the "non profit" status? Is Dan considered part of the renovation's in a sense?

Anonymous

Wonderful video this week, thanks you! Love all the sneak peeks of the entrance hall. What an absolute beautiful project you have of your father! It’s an amazing idea and it just fills me of inspiration and creativity, only wish I could get a small part in helping it come to life. So glad to hear that Mummy and Percy are doing well. Darling videos of them are always welcomed, although I get the feeling they’re bursting to create their own channel of sorts but their technology skills are holding them back. Perhaps a format closer to Selmar’s not so professional, borderline Facebook-esque would allow them to share and be watched casually by those who’d like :) If I may respectfully ask, could you do another summary of how all the target projects are going? I can never keep track with so may of them happening at the same time! All my love and gratitude, Lia ❤️

Anonymous

Awesome updates!! The artwork your father did for the tile wall is absolutely enchanting. I’m sad to hear that adorable Hanni left. I hope lockdowns don’t prevent her from getting back to the chateau. Maybe she and Gerry can drive back together for Christmas, and vlog it...lol. 😜❤️ Stephanie, you are such an inspiring and open person, full of heart and integrity. I believe it was meant to be that Lalande came into your possession. Looking forward to seeing the completion of the courtyard and the upcoming holiday season at Lalande!! ❤️🌟❤️ P.s. it would be lovely to frame all your father’s tile sketches as an art installation somewhere else in the Chateau, too.!!

Anonymous

I loved seeing the work on your father's tiles. Something to consider is that toner litho transfers can be used on ceramic with underglaze versus a print or digital transfer. I've used this technique in my own art, and it would allow a more hand crafted approach while remaining true to your father's drawings

Anonymous

Thanks for keeping us all update to date with your plans. I have wonder how do you find privacy in such a busy environment? You seem to love to be with people but expect that you may need some down time to recharge.

Anonymous

Wonderful vlog, thank you so much. My heart feels happier now that your lovely Mummy is back with dear Percy, for all they are not with you. God bless xx

Anonymous

The tiles will look beautiful when completed and a perfect tribute to your Father. Looking forward to seeing all of the projects that will be happening to your beautiful home.

Anonymous

Another wonderful Vlog Stephanie ❤️ You are Soo generous with your time & efforts which I am In Awe of... You are so giving with everything... Thanku Stay Safe 🙏

Anonymous

I am so very proud of you Stephanie, it is such a joy being a Patreon of yours 😘

Anonymous

Well done!~k. In awe of your Father's tile vision for the kitchen! Love the dress you are wearing! I always enjoy your updates, I'm inspired by your knowledge and your vision for the chateau! Thank you . I'm so proud to be a little part of all your dream.

Anonymous

Thanks for sharing your father's tile drawings. That will be a magnificently beautiful addition to the kitchen. Yes, would love to see Percy and Mummy's videos. Hope her return trip to South Africa went well and they are enjoying their gorgeous home there.

Anonymous

Thank you for another wonderful update. Your father's paintings for tiles are amazing and I pray the right person will come along to make it reality. I received my card today, and it made my day. Thank you

Anonymous

Yes Hanni and Gerry on a road trip, that would a great sight to see 🙂

Anonymous

omg the wallpaper is fabulous!!! Can't wait to see the whole room! Some people have mentioned, and I agree, that you should contact an art restorer for the tiles. i even agree with leaving them 'unfinished' as it was your fathers last project but that is up to you. This should the next goal project.

Anonymous

Your splashback will be amazing. The idea that someone had about blending the finished with the completed tiles sounds interesting. Of course you need someone with a particular vision and in sympathy with your ideas to bring it to fruition. Yes to video diary for Mummy and Percy, live to see what they're up to in the sunshine, so glad they're together and also that Mummy left France before the new lockdown. Loving your new hair colour Stephanie has Annalise done it for you ? Much love from Worcestershire UK. Xx

Anonymous

Your Father’s artwork on tiles in the kitchens will be wonderful & of course you want to portray it as near as you can to how he envisaged the finished effect. How lovely that his talent surrounds you & lives on. It would be fabulous to see Mummy & Percy together ... such a relief & yet as you say you miss her there. I could listen to you all day as you are so interesting & passionate about everything & such a sense of fun with it. If I were Natie I would want to sit right there where she sits & not miss anything!

Anonymous

I had thought about the OH&S issue with the laptop as well. Must be so uncomfortable. Still whatever works for Stefanie . I have back issues from a working lifetime of desktops so there is no easy answer. My daughter uses a standup desk these days.

Julia Bowman

Stephanie...as it's just a 2 colour palette why not ask Angel Strawbridge about printing onto tiles as she has a machine which she did her own blue and white kitchen tiles...and if she let you use it then it would be wholly done by your family

Anonymous

Thank you for this Stephanie. I enjoy your enthusiasm and commitment to renewing the chateau. So glad that Isabel and Percy are safely together again in SA. I am impressed with your father's ideas for the backsplash. It's going to be interesting to see how you bring your dream to fruition. And well done you for sticking to your guns in relation to the size of the lake. Water police @#%* How archaic of them. It has to be as it used to be before they tricked you into draining it. so horribly unfair. I hope they agree sooner rather than later as winter would be the perfect time to refill it. Imagine boating on it next summer! love from Down Under xx

Anonymous

I think finishing your father’s tile masterpiece is the perfect way to complete the kitchen. Although digital (sublimation) printing is probably more cost effective, in Portugal there are many, many trained tile painters who would exact copy your father’s design and complete the missing areas with you. If you’re ever interested in researching this do let me know. I have a fine arts degree in ceramics (although tile painting isn’t my area), know many tile painters, atelier and factories and speak Portuguese so am able to get quotes and samples.

Anonymous

The tiles for the splash back are going to be inspirational and absolutely beautiful. I love everything you do, it enhances the chateau, the courtyard looks beautiful and i agree with Dan it looks truely wonderful when wet. Cant wait to see the plants go in, both round the fountain and the walls. XX

Anonymous

Thank you Stephanie :-)

Anonymous

If you come to Ireland another time I'd love to take you on a tour and maybe get you into a medieval dress and shoot some traditional longbows.

Anonymous

WOW Stephanie you were going to come to IRELAND!!! but it was postponed because of Covid. When you rearrange and get here next year that would make a great vlog. [and possibly a meet up] From an Irish viewer. P. S. love the tile idea of your father art work. I'm sure he will be smiling in heaven when his vision will be finally complete.

Anonymous

Thank you for the updates, Stephanie. I sit and watch with a smile on my face as I revel in the continuing progress of your wonderful Château and those who live there and their contributions. I was especially happy to hear that Mummy arrived safely in South Africa and that she and Percy are happy and well. Looking forward to seeing a few of their little videos. Your father’s tile project is amazing and I know you will take the utmost care in bringing it to fruition.

Anonymous

Hello Stephanie. Perhaps after his success with drawing the face for the St. Cecilia window you might consider commissioning Steve to have a go at working on your father’s splashback drawings?

Anonymous

Can’t wait for curtain making tutorial

Anonymous

Yes, we’d like to see footages from South Africa🌞🌳

Anonymous

Ok, if you work with a tile company to use the back splash design to sell to their other customers, you could turn it from an expense to a money maker.

Anonymous

Yes I think she said in the video she first mentioned the idea that Dan, Selmar and anyone employed working physically on the chateau could fall under the non-profit and thus Patreon funds. however probably not some more luxury items like a swimming pool.

Anonymous

When you make reference to "the marquis's kitchen," does that refer to quarters that you reserve for the former owner, or is that just a name you have given to those particular rooms?

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie thank you for all the interesting information. I adorn your fathers tile pictures of the chateau, they will be perfectly stunning in your kitchen. Have a great week. 🕊💕

Anonymous

Uhhh, I have only gotten to the part, where you are laying out the tile design. But i instantly thought of the man, who helped with the design of the face on the mosaic window! He was VERY talented, and understood to be mindful of the rest of the piece. He could examine all of your fathers work, as you have it all at the chateau, and come up with a way to finish it. I actually think, that it could be a matter of determining what parts of it are essential to create a complete image. But I would perhaps think, that if the chateau was completed, and then the background, maybe. Then some parts could simply remain in a sketch form, and still be put in. Make them so they stick out, but maybe they can just be a tiny bit transparent, or in some way be made, so they still look like a sketch on a piece of paper, taped to the piece. Ohh, I hope you understand what I mean. Because it is a part of its history. I would also suggest, that you perhaps have 2 of them made, one on tiles, and one on canvas, to frame and put up somewhere else?

Anonymous

I agree...your father's tile work is AMAZING. You're so fortunate to have so much of his art to enjoy. My father passed when I was 10 yrs old and I have many of his personal items that mean so much to me. I totally understand the feeling :) I'd love to see some of mummy and Percy's videos ! I was wondering how her flight went after the airport fiasco. Very happy to know she's safe and sound with Percy again. I do have a question that I probably should have dropped in the previous video but...I'm curious what would happen to the Chateau when you 3 owners have passed on ? I hope that doesn't seem morbid to ask as I hope you live forever ! :) I'm more curious on how estates are handled in this situation. Thank you so much for the videos ! We enjoy them SO much !

Anonymous

Thank you Stephanie for this Q & A. The tile backsplash with your father's artwork is going to be Epic !! Absolutely precious ! :)

Anonymous

I am so enjoying this journey of restoration with all of you. Its so inspirational and I think all of those that subscribe and your patreon's as well have the love of the arts, restoration, gardening, nature, cooking in them. I like many hope to come and contribute in some way. I have one question about the lake side and Chapel area. Every time I see it whether it be from a window or up close I envision wildflowers billowing in the breeze along the lake and perhaps leading up to the chapel in a very natural way. Would you consider this ? I love the idea of a folly. Thank you again , you are making life during these challenging times so much better with your vlogs and sharing the lovely Le Lande and all the wonderful people who live there. Making the vlogs is a lot of work and I so appreciate it.

Anonymous

Would love to see what Isabelle and Percy are up too 💕

Anonymous

Can’t wait to see Isabelle & Percy together again (no worries about quality of video, please!)!!

Anonymous

"charming" over quality any and every day - so YES PLEASE to any footage of Isabelle and Percy finally together-will be wonderful to see mummy brightening up in the warmer climes and the love of her husband xx

Anonymous

I am so sad my health is so bad, because I do have the skills, tools and equipment to help with your fathers tiles. I hope someone can come help with them!

Anonymous

Yes, yes, yes, to Isabelle and Percy.

Anonymous

My thoughts too, maybe she could advise I think they should be as your father had left them and put on tiles or mounted on white tiling and covered with a special resin that is clear and waterproof.🤔💕

Anonymous

Wow, to the kitchen tile backsplash. I'm sure that an amazing follower will be able to help you make it come to fruition.

Anonymous

So great to hear that Mummy and Percy are thriving together. I'm in love with your father's tile design. Absolutely wonderful.

Anonymous

What a very interesting Q&A, definitely a yes to snippets from Percy and Isabelle’s videos 😃🎬 so very pleased they are back together. Love your fathers art for the kitchen as I said further up have the original art put up and protected by glass or the like as a wonderful memory. I agree maybe Hanni & Gerry could do a road trip back together - for a wonderful Christmas and Advent vlogs. Thank you for the joy and happiness💕🥂🍾

Anonymous

Loved those tile drawings - it will look fabulous when finished. Looking forward to Cat and Philips interview I find both of them facinating.

Anonymous

Fabulous! Thank you💕

Anonymous

Do you have any footage of your father painting that you would like to share with us?

Anonymous

I love to hear your updates Stephanie. Such lovely news about mummy and Pearcy. I’m so overjoyed with happiness they are finally reunited xx. The plans for the kitchen backsplash & the fountain look as if they will be just perfect for the design your daddy started to create. I wish I lived closer to offer my assistance. I am an artist (of sorts) and love those challenges! Gosh I can’t wait until you find the perfect person to help you complete those amazing projects. Hope to see a Kat interview mostly. She is one of my most favorites. ALWAYS wearing a smirk/smile on her beautiful face. Her heart is kind and I see her shinning soul through her eyes. Philip is intriguing too. He would be fun to hear his interview. Thank you for all your work and dedication. I adore what you have going on regarding you life and your chateau. You spread so much love and joy into this world. You are truly an angel here on earth. Xx ~Aloha~🌸🌼Jennie

Anonymous

I would just love to come in May or June and get that library completed! Oh my gosh. A dream.

Anonymous

Wonderful update. I’m so glad Isabelle and Percy are together and am looking forward to their video. You need a video editor or a curtain maker. 😂 If you do the next round, I’m curious what happened with the septic situation. I know it’s a distant future project, but will you restore the rest of the attic and battlements? Did you get a chandelier in the front reception room as planned? Looking forward to the tile project as well.

Anonymous

Another great update thank you 😊 Can’t wait to see Percy and Isabelle’s adventures!

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie,

Anonymous

Could you provide a floor map of the Chateau so we have better idea when you're talking about the rooms. thanks, Alex

Anonymous

Which bedroom are thinking of moving to?

Anonymous

Many of us are curious about the satellite that Hanni bought. You are still using the "mobile office" for uploads, so it seems that didn't work out. Having internet is HUGE, as you know. Please let us know how/if that is progressing. Thanks for the updates.

Anonymous

Yes please

Anonymous

Lets see Isobel and Percy

Anonymous

I am SURE you’ve thought about this, but what about having Oliver complete your father’s tiles? He seems to have a complimentary style and a lot of respect for your father’s work. I loved seeing the tiles, by the way! I would have happily watched a whole video about them!

Anonymous

Also, I LOVE the dress you’re wearing and would love to hear more about it, too. :)

Anonymous

Great update Q&A!!! Loved it.

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie, thank you so much for a great update, such exciting progress. Do you still have the tiling of the terrace/shutter-dogs on your list ? Best wishes.

Anonymous

Question: You mentioned the fishery that’s on the other side of the dry moat. What is the fishery, can you take us there some time, and (probably a silly question) is it stocked with fish? Thanks!

Anonymous

Best news, that mummy is finally reunited with Percy 🌹

Anonymous

Have you ever thought about getting solar panels to reduce the cost of electricity/heat? I work in solar in the US and there's currently a lot of funding coming from the government to help people (covers 26% of the cost) and sometimes additional funding depending on the state. Not sure if France is doing anything similar, but if you were to own solar panels (as opposed to renting them) you'd be getting free electricity. I'm sure that a building the size of La Lande would require a large solar system that would be somewhat pricey at the beginning and would likely need to be put somewhere other than the roof, but it could be feasible depending on what government funding and/or grants are available in France. I'd be more than happy to use my connections and experience in the industry to help La Lande go solar if it is something you'd be interested in!

Anonymous

Have you been or will you go to the other Chateau de Lalande?

Anonymous

It's the name of a guest room, the videos over the last 2 years have followed the Reno of this room

Anonymous

For me, these tiles have got to be the big project goal for 2021! However it gets completed, this should be done. perfect!

Anonymous

Stephanie has mentioned switching her current larger bedroom and adjoining smaller dressing room around, such that her bedroom becomes her office/work area and dressing room become her sleeping area (if I've gotten that straight).

Anonymous

How about asking Michael Petherick to help with the backsplash?

Anonymous

The kitchen tiles are amazing! That is going to be stunning.

Anonymous

Great Q & A tonight. What a year with so many things happening. The.best of all is the amount of work on the Chateau already accomplished. I just love your Father’s design for the tiles, for me its such a delight and cannot wait in the future to see them above the hearth in the kitchen. Stay safe Stephanie and Love from the Dordogne xx

Anonymous

Is Selmar a volunteer or are you paying him per project ?

Anonymous

Are the utilities ie: water, electric, etc paid by Patreon money as it is part of the chateau?

Anonymous

I hope Hani can come back if she is in London as France has closed its borders.

Anonymous

Gosh I wish I could do the tiles fired on ceramic as a more permanent installation. It's pretty impossible since I live in Canada.

Anonymous

I've done murals and backsplashes from tiles and one can order decals in those exact colors that can be fired onto either handmade or commercial tiles. Perhaps there is a potter or ceramist near you that has the expertise to complete that project properly so it will last in perpetuity .

Anonymous

Another wonderful video, Stephanie! My jaw and heart are still dropped from seeing your father’s tiles! The balance between refined and wild at Lalande is magic. I love the forests...so lucky to have them. I heard that you wanted to keep some wildflower meadow space in one video...I’m reading a book now called A Buzz in the Meadow by Dave Goulson. He’s a British biology professor who bought 33 acres in France to let them remain wild and study the insects. He’s not terribly far from you, I think, in a market town called Confolens near Limoges. He might be a good resource or content for you. He also has a youtube channel. As always, thank you for sharing and I’m sending much love and good wishes for Lalande and it’s lovely inhabitants! Oh, and I received your card!! So much fun to get special mail from you in France!!!!❤️

Anonymous

Thank you, Stephanie. So interesting all of it!!!

Anonymous

The backsplash tiles will be perfect! How wonderful to have your father's art in the heart of the chateau. I'm wondering if the internet disc that Hanni bought has been installed yet?

Anonymous

Anna the actually drawings that Stephanie's father made can be digitized and made into waterlide decals that can be fired directly onto either handmade or commercial tiles to make a permanent glazed tile surface. This is easy to clean and heatproof and durable. I am a potter/tile maker and I've done a few backsplashes. I am too far away but perhaps someone closer who has the skills can do it.

Anonymous

What a wonderful day! I finally got my card from Stephanie! Love it.

Anonymous

Wow, how amazing are the tile drawings. Love them. Shame you cant use the original paper squares and then fit a persplex backslash over them x

Anonymous

have you thought about adding outdoor lighting, ive noticed some of your nightime vlogs seems very dark and not much visibility at night

Anonymous

what happened with the sattelite hannie brought in ?

Anonymous

He is paid now that he has the correct paperwork to work in France. His fees can come out of the Patreon money since they are for the restoration of the chateau.

Anonymous

There is a legal denomination in France for property called Societé Civile Immobiliere when the property is divided into shares or 'parts' and made transferrable between co owners, not sure if you have looked into this system, you probably have if you have a good accountant. xxxx

Anonymous

As another Stephanie I don't get angry and can look at all sides in any discussion but generally it doesn't linger and I don't get upset about things I can do nothing about, especially small things.

Really enjoyed seeing your Father's drawings for the tiles. It will be beautiful. Would love to see Mummy and Percy's videos. I am so happy for them. I am still apart from my husband but hoping it won't be much longer. Love the questions. Couldn't Gerry take a train?

If you go back further in the Patreon posts, Stephanie provided downloads of the floor plans. I've looked at them a couple of times to figure out where everything is.

I’m probably out on a limb here, but I don’t think I would have anyone complete the unfinished sketches in your father’s beautiful and idiosyncratic work of art. They will look stunning as tiles just as they are. Great vlog as always, and I’m so pleased that mummy is safe and happy. Stay safe everyone.

Has anyone found somewhere online to rent and stream escape to the château DIY? I'm located in the US so I don't have British TV. I'd love to see the lalande episodes

Anonymous

I haven’t tried watching it on Peacock (app on my phone & tv) yet but looks like it’s available there. It’s included with my Comcast internet/tv streaming plan but they also probably have a free trial available.

Hello Stephanie. I have very recently become one if your patrons. My only regret is I didn’t join sooner. I have enjoyed going through your previous posts and must say I eagerly awaited this weeks post. Thank you for the updates. So much is happening!

I really, really love the new hair color. It makes your complexion so much rosier.

I would keep your father's work as it is ,only change the colour of the pencil lines as you mentioned ,it will be a part of the chateau which itself will never be completely finished , Angela Strawbridge has a tile printer !

Anonymous

Thank you for sharing your father's plan for the oven backsplash. I love seeing his work. We might have an artist among the patrons who could sympathetically help with finishing the tile designs. Please do upload the videos that Isabelle and Percy filmed- I know I would love to see that!

Stephanie, I wonder will you be sad when there aren't any more bedrooms to renovate? I just love each one you've created and I imagine they are such fulfilling projects!

Anonymous

Oh! Today’s video answered all my questions about the dress!

Anonymous

I have a question, would you consider doing a Sunday vlog on Nostradamus, I believe he did a lot of work with plague patients, I would love to know more about him x

Anonymous

Dear Stephanie, I enjoyed your Q&A immensely, and also all your Vlogs. While watching your video today I noticed you sitting in front of a beautiful raised panel door. This door reminded me that I have seen old raised panel doors used sideways on walls for raised panelling. If you could manage to find enough of old doors it may work for your bedroom redo. One other idea for you. If Nattie does the bookkeeping and some project management for the chateau Renovations would Patreon money be able to pay some of her salary? Just a few thoughts. Thank you for all your wonderful Vlogs. Best wishes. Diane K

Your father’s drawings for the blue & white tile scene above the stove will have him with you in the kitchen, just as you have fondly recalled, working on his art each morning. Preserving the drawings just as your father left them would give the tiles that sense of his art as a work in process. Whatever you choose to do will be perfect. Thank you for sharing the intimate glimpse of this connection with your father.

It’s exciting to be moving forward toward so many renovation projects at the chateau. Love the mystique of hidden doors disguised as book shelves in the Library. Looking forward to the inspiration of curtain tutorials! The exotic touches in the Entrance Hall have me intrigued to see the full reveal of how the décor came together. Your vision for your dream Bedroom Suite is sumptuous. Together, we will make that dream come true for you! Absolutely, please share any and all videos from Isabelle and Percy!

Great news all round for the chateau. Your dress is beautiful ❤️ and I think you should get your bedroom and study/work room all done as you really deserve a place you can go to and work, and relax. Stay safe in lockdown xx

Hi Stephanie, I’d love to make a suggestion for an interesting vlog if that’s ok?

Stephanie, Thanks for answering all of those questions. Love the backsplash design. Wow. I'm a graphic designer with an architectural background and perhaps I could help you with the composition of the pieces before tile production? I envision a process where first the whole composition is assembled digitally to review it as a whole, followed by an editing process to make minor modifications until you are pleased with it. It's an undertaking for sure, but I see how it can be done with no risk of harm to the originals. You have my email.

Hi Stephanie! Greetings from Miami, Florida where my husband and 6 cats watch all of your videos! Of course, show us what Mummi and Percy are doing. It will be great to see. Take care and say Hello to everyone! Annie and her 6 cats (Moochie, Cookie, Julieta, TonTon, TunTun and Kukita)

Has anyone written up the recipes from today's Sunday at the Chateau?

Garrie and Cindy Garrison

Great Q&A! Add M. Potts to the interview list? Would Nick even consider, or Marie? I miss Marie and Antoine. Love your co-owners. Please and thank you for footage of Isabelle and Percy. She just did get out, didn't she? Loved the goat cheese today! Can Cat stay for a while? I love her. Philip too! And you're too sweet to send me another note. ❤ from North Carolina!!!

I agree with Louise, I think it's time you treat yourself now, you do so much for everyone else.

Yes! Stephanie has so many nice perks for her patrons!! Just love her and all the lovely people connected to the Chateau! I feel like I've been looking for this channel my whole life (33 years...lol I'm laughing because I know to some 33 years doesn't seem like much) and nearly a year ago I finally found it!

Mummy and Percy videos are a must!! ❤️

As long as they feel we are not being too intrusive into their lives. Everyone needs a certain amount of privacy and we would never want to feel anyone had to cross an uncomfortable line just to please us.

I got it! Thank you for my post card. So happy To be a patron. Loved loved the cooking show with chef Guillem. You are such a beautiful, warm delight 💫and watching your blogs is better than any tv shows ever. Hugs to you and all 🤗 ❤️

I got my postcard, too! Andit feels so special to hold it in my hand, the youtube worlds sometimes seem so far away. Anyway, THANK YOU, Stephanie and thank you for keeping me sane and distracted from everything else going on in the world. I love your channel!

Dear Stephanie, Isabelle, Nathalia and all you lovely people at Lalande, thank you for your postcard, I appreciate it a lot. And thank you for keep going despite all the ups and downs that many people experience in these days, or year. Much energy and wellbeing to all of you, and I would be loving to see you, Stephanie, working on a sewing project! 😊 So that content would be interesting to know more about, especially you are often doing projects with a huge amount of fabric! Much love and blessings, Irene from Austria

I have been looking for the Angkor Wat video... I have been there and wanted to see it through your eyes...

Q. Do you ever have any guests or volunteers romantically pursue you? If so, how do you handle it? Has it ever gotten out of line? Thanks!

Stephanie needs to get a bar like Ryan's uncle!!! Maybe he will sell it to her since they never use!!! Check it out!!! Very cool, and Stephanie style!

thank you for giving us all the joy with your wonderful videos! I am an American citizen but I was born and raised in Versailles next to the Palace and I missed seeing my “castle”. I used to walk in the Parc and gardens almost everyday. My Mom is now 98 years old and I have been going to see her every year but I could not go this year because of Covid19. But hopefully next year I will and might be able to come to Lalande also!

Anonymous

Great suggestions and as I am a professional seamstress would love to help with the draperies but, alas, Covid! Hopefully soon all will be better. I cannot imagine the wonderfulness of working with the fabrics Stephanie has - utter joy!

The court yard is look beautiful, I wouldn’t put rose climbers in the beds though. I’d put a standard roses or lollipop bay trees in each and if needed a twisted metal support. Love Dan’s idea of making the fountain more of a pond..... I could see irises growing in there.

Didn't I see an episode where Dick's wife Angle was transferring images onto tiles for someone?? I think she has the whole set up to do this.

I think a little yellow shining through would be a nice touch. As you love yellow & someone had sent you a plate of the blue & white with a couple of yellow touches.

Oh, I just got a great idea - so now I think I just might know, where the pidgeon paintings are being used 😂 It'll be fun to see if I'm right 😁

Hi Stephanie, any updates on the Church Pews, Chicken Houses?

Hi Stephanie, One Hundred Stars has a Venice Scarf you need to take on your up coming trip..

My lockdown diary for today -  Morning: watch last night's 'Cadeaux at the chateau' vlog. Afternoon: watch Stephanie and family in ETTCDIY on Channel 4. Evening: chat with fellow Lalanders whilst watching 'The chateau diaries' Youtube premiere. Seems tolerable:)

Please make an updated video of all the restoration you have accomplished with before and after for all your new followers so they can fall inlove with you as i did...just a thought

Can we get a update on all the targets? 😁 maybe by the years end? To see how far we have come.

Greetings! Does anyone know the full name of the recent artist, Andie, to the chateau? I would love to see more of her art and find out about buying a piece or a print. Thank you so much! 🐝

Ramon

Are you aware that some fans from Facebook and so are making some kind of merchandise with Lalande label? And I am afraid to say not really good quality ones.(fake toile and bizarre calendars...) You might want to consider to protect your copyright.

Anonymous

Hello Stephanie! I'm sure you have enough people volunteering to help with the tiles. I just wanted to offer my capabilities as well. I am an artist and have done master copies in the past where I learned other artist's styles. My etsy and instagram are RobinSunArt if you would like to see my work. Whether you need my help or not I am so glad that you will get the assistance to finish your father's work. It will be so special.

A harmonium is a sort of mini-organ. Nice to have, though a pipe organ would be even better!

Your Father's backsplash is amazing!

You've probably seen the movie TheTourist with Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie .......?

I cannot wait to see the backsplash in the kitchen come to life!!!
