Thank you very much for this video :) Sending lots of love from Brussels to La Lande!

Love when you post these videos! So happy to be a patron for you and the Chateau. Xx 🤙🏽🐚💕

Your daily vlogs have been the highlights of my days. I work in healthcare and watch them on my lunch break. Thank you so much for raising my spirits!! I love seeing my name at the end also. XOXO

Laura & Jack

Thanks so much for this. I have a soft spot for the chapel, so can’t wait to see the next blog!

Anonymous

Do you ever look at the private messages sent to you here on Patreon? I'm rooting for the lake! 🙏

Anonymous

Thank you Stephanie. It is wonderful to hear your plans and as a patron to be part of your journey.

Anonymous

Thank you for answering all those questions. An island in the lake would be really lovely plus a swimming pool - I'm afraid I'm with M. P. with this. I'm partial to sipping some wine sitting in the sun by a swimming pool in the heart of France.

Anonymous

When will we see your first book?

Anonymous

Ooh love the moon garden idea.....that is fabulous idea!

Anonymous

I just love simply sitting down at your kitchen table with you and chatting. This was quite nice!

Anonymous

I love the idea of the night garden! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and plans with us...

Anonymous

I have a friend who installed a lake with a small island which they use for picnics, and fun times with her grandchildren. It's definitely a cherished part of her property.

Anonymous

Thank you. It is so lovely to hear your answers but also the areas of interest for the patrons. It sounds like you need a PA just to deal with your emails..😀

Anonymous

Big fan of the night garden and the island in the lake. If you do look into getting a swimming pool, I highly suggest making it a salt water pool. The maintenance is so much simpler, the water is softer and more buoyant and the chlorine levels are so low it is far less damaging to skin and hair.

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie, just a thought, have you thought about merchandise. I have a few ideas like the pattern from your lovely chapel to be printed on a scarf. A picture booklet containing photos of interiors and history of Lalande. A car air freshener in the shape of Lalande. I know that sounds silly but we all use them and would get people asking what it is. Word of mouth a great recommendation.

Anonymous

Hello. Thank you for doing this for us! GARden ANSWER ON UTube is an amazing daily blogger who did a moon garden for the same reason u wish to do one. Check it out for ideas. You will also love her! ( She’s in OREGON IN THE US WHERE ITS VERY HOT & dry) Love your channel and all your great chateau family we get to share w you.

Anonymous

Ooh scented candles with smells of the chateau! I’d buy all the merch!!!

Anonymous

Love your blouse x If your peacocks ever have chicks I would really love one xx

Anonymous

Oh and I sent a PM on here asking for a birthday wish mine was on Tuesday. I’ll remember to put in the comments next time 😊 Enjoyed the Q&A too!

Anonymous

Question for next time....What does the full Estate cover and do you have to do any management of the wider estate or do locals help? I ask because I love it when we go on walkabouts and we see places I didn't know existed...although based on the walk to the flour mill not sure Im the only one lol :)

Anonymous

If you stay as a guest and Nick was there would he avoid people or introduce himself as Nick

Anonymous

Dear Stephanie, Thank you so much for this q&a! It's a perfect format given the time differences. I do hope there will be some archaeological survey and reconaissance done eiither in advance or alongside with the laike survey. It would not be difficult at all and there would be qualified professionals who would be interested in doing this.A mapping and recovery could tell you so much. Thank you💗⚜️💗

Anonymous

Thank you for this Q&A, as everything else you do I enjoyed it. It makes me look forward to the vlogs about wallpapers and fabrics, and I am not a bit surprised that you and Michael will do a cookbook together, great idea. It is horrid to hear about trolls putting fake nasty photos of "you" in your comments. I know that we all feel very protective of you and everyone at the Chateau, we will keep our eyes out for you. Thankfully you have thousands of friends, and there will just be a couple of people that don't wish you well. I guess one needs to bear in mind that they are probably very unhappy and just need someone to take it out on. Some might even feel envious of you, for various reasons. Don't ever let that get you down. You thank us for making it possible for you to restore and bring the Chateau back to glory, and we thank you for letting us into your life, inspiring us, showing us various wonderful things, making us smile, and talking to us like to a friend. It works both ways, and I cannot wait to see the lake, the pool, the mill...the gardener! :-D My mother and I always say we are so lucky that neighter of us watch reality shows, as we fortunately enjoy the same tv shows (British crime, and house building/restoration/hunting programs) but now I must admit I AM watching a reality show, yours! And now also Michaels, loved his rose cake. I always make desserts with rose flavour, but this one was new for me. Anyway, I bid you a very good night, and also your mother! Love from a friend in Norway :-) Ps! I LOVE the midnight garden idea!!! wow. also, imagine how wonderful your island will look in moonlight on the lake! You and Michael can vlog us over there in moonlight. The island will be so amazing for you to plan!

Anonymous

What little things would you like to have at the Chateau but can't get now or even later ?

Anonymous

Hi Steph (hope the abbreviation is acceptable, spent most of my life in Bristol where names get down to single syllables)

Anonymous

Are there any plans to use the grounds for large outside public events such as Brocantes, Concerts or Car Calvacade meets?

Anonymous

I'd like to know all about your Mommy. Her life story, if she would be willing.

Anonymous

that was great thanks for sharing so much . can't wait for the vlog on my question ..take care xx

Anonymous

Thank you Stephanie for being so kind to your patrons. It's a privilege for me to be a new patron of your chateau. I've really enjoyed your videos. I also watch Michael's. Best wishes for you and your loved ones during this difficult time in our world. I can't wait to see your completed upcoming projects. Judi

Ahhh!!!! I put my comment on the video. I must admit I was very excited to hear my name on the video😊😊 I think it is a great idea to have the pigeon pictures in your tower stairwell as it would be such a shame to split them up. And I love the naturalness of these videos!!

Anonymous

I think the lake restored would be so fun for your future guests! They take out a boat and enjoy the beautiful weather and have picnic on the new island! I am sure when they dig out the lake they can move the extra dirt to make the island.

Anonymous

where did your love for fabrics come from and have you always liked going to charity shops and bracantes? xx

Anonymous

How about closing off the roof area that is open - that was the oil pouring place, etc., so you can cut down of hot air leaking. It can be done cheaply such as plywood. Dick mentioned you need to cut the warm air escaping so you be warmer. Also it would help to get rid of any pigeons or BATS - so you can cut the roof getting worse.

Anonymous

What a lovely video. Thank you for your answers. Please keep this format, since it’s much less stressful for you & no pressure on us patrons to “meet” at a certain day time for a live chat. It’s also exciting to hear that you will do a full vlog for some questions. Looking forward to the ones you mentioned as an example. I think it’s a great fun about Nic being elusive one of the many things that brings out the atmosphere and the homely life at your Chateau. I think you have a great viewpoint about restoring the lake. It definitely is your opportunity to make improvements and also have professional advice. Lovely idea of a little island somewhere in the middle. Your enthusiasm and love for the Chateau is quite catching!

Anonymous

Thank you Stephanie!!

Wonderful video and so great to hear about some of your plans - the night garden sounds gorgeous. Do you think it may be time to hire an assistant... it sounds like you have a lot on your plate that is just impossible for you to address. I imagine someone like Marie - who is organised and is happy to get on with the job behind the scenes but is also a lovely addition to the Lalande family.

Anonymous

Many thanks Stephanie

Anonymous

Would it be possible to use the overflow from the lake for generating electricity? Could save money in the future.

Anonymous

Just an idea. Sounds like you could do with a Personal Assistant. I do that for a living (although I live in Australia and am devoted to my boss so can’t offer my assistance, lol wish I could) and I love it. A personal Assistant can really help you to focus on things that only you can do and will help with keeping on top of everything else. Popular YouTubers have a team so don’t feel bad about asking for help. It can help you mentally and emotionally:)

Anonymous

Thank you for the answers, it's been really informative. I love this format of Q&A, much more practical than a live chat. Looking forward to the future ones :)

Anonymous

Your enthusiasm is infectious! Thank you for sharing!

Anonymous

Already offered VA services on a PM Stephanie ❤❤❤❤

Anonymous

YOU DID IT! $5500! Here comes the lake survey!

Anonymous

YAY! You hit the second target 🎯. Congratulations 🍾🎉🎈🎊. This is so awesome to watch and apart of Amazing. Thank you so much for the videos and taking us along on your journey. 😊👍🏻

Anonymous

Please don't worry about adding extra things on like you said at the end of this video. The simpler the videos, the less time you have to spend on them, and the better it is in the long run. We don't want you to get burned out with those 16 hour days!

Anonymous

Loved this Stephanie and no you didnt sound rushed or garbled, in fact I had just thought how very well you explained things in your answers. 💕

Anonymous

Loved this video Q&A and look forward to more! :) Keep carrying on, Stephanie! :)

Stephanie, Thank you for the intimate chat that feels as though we are sitting down with you at your kitchen table for a cup of coffee or tea. Your creativity and passion for LaLande is so inspiring. Whenever I have a large household project or cleaning task that I previously would have found daunting, I now simply think of how you would handle it and imagine that my work is all part of the “chateau life.” One can dream!

Anonymous

Oh!!! I have been watching carefully to see when you reached the next target. Congratulations!!!!!

Anonymous

They are not allowed to get rid of the bats as they are a protected species but I understand it is not a big colony and from memory they are mainly now in the basement.

Anonymous

Really interesting thank you Stephanie 💕💋

Anonymous

so exciting to see the vlogs on interior design :) XX

Anonymous

I absolutely love the "sitting down and having a chat" kinda content! So there's no need to load yourself with more work x

Anonymous

Love these chats ❤!!! Thank you for your precious time 🙏.

Anonymous

Many blessings for the Leland Family. Admire you so much.

Anonymous

Just loved you having a chat with us & you had your lovely peacock mug in use too! Your love of the chateau has rubbed off on all of us. No questions from me ...just love hearing about everything. Thank you xx

Anonymous

I’m so excited to have joined this wonderful community today. Stephanie, you have made lockdown so much more bearable with your vlogs and I always look forward to seeing them. Thank you!

Anonymous

Congrats on hitting your lake goal. Exciting things to learn I am sure. Quickly, is that a Bordalo Pinheiro sardinha (sardine) on the Spode wall behind you? Was it a Portuguese souvenir?

Anonymous

This was so fun! We made popcorn and gin and tonics and watched it last night! You should tease the Q&A video on your social media to show people what they’re missing!

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie! I was wondering if you would be interested in doing book recommendations/what you’re reading as a sort of book club either here on Patron or on your main channel. I have heard you mention your large book collection and would love to hear your recommendations. Thank you!

Anonymous

Have you introduced us in a vlog yet (I have not finished watching all of them as of yet) to your chateau chats?

Anonymous

Question. How many bedrooms can you rent at a time as a B/B? How many people can stay at a time?

Anonymous

Are you planning on having your sheep sheared?

Anonymous

I am so delighted to see your patrons increasing, and to hear how your plans for the chateau have been able to expand. I have been inspired to do some of my own long waiting sewing and furniture restoration projects after viewing your vlogs, and Michael's. My tasks seem so puny now in comparison to the gargantuan projects which you have both undertaken, and plan for the future. You, Mummy, and your lovely guests have the most wonderful energy, and you have all helped to brighten this strange time we are living through. I look forward tremendously to your posts each week, and to the renewal which the chateau will experience. All the best!

Anonymous

Thank you for such a man informative video. You have said that you couldn’t write a book as you hate writing however the way in which you present all of your blogs is very reminiscent of a good history book or script for tv and appears to have so much preparation with references to authors and quotes. My QUESTION is how do you prepare for your vlog and if you write a script would it be possible (with a volunteer) to turn those scripts (or transcripts from vlogs) with pictures into a beautiful coffee table book?

Anonymous

Oh, I also love the idea of book recommendations/book club

Laura & Jack

Just finished watching the YouTube live with Isabella. Such a delight and I can’t wait to come help with the garden. Just built a new raised herb garden here at home. I love digging in the dirt (regularly volunteer at a Canadian veggie farm), washing dishes, reading, writing and walks etc. You are both bringing such joy during this strange time. Thank you!

Anonymous

Loved the q&a! Very excited for the future vlogs that were discussed. Be well!

Hi Stephanie. I was wondering about Patreon payments, If each new month actually means that you get a new payment, does it mean that you now have close to $10000 in your funds, since it's a new month? I don't want this to come across as intrusive question about your finances, I'm just confused about how goals on patron work, and if you need $5500 per month for the lake survey or one-time $5500 amount and then next month's amount is added to the fund for the new goal? Feel free to skip this question if you find it intrusive, it's not my intention to make you feel uncomfortable. I'm just new to the whole Patreon thing and curious.

Anonymous

Stephanie, Great Q&A! Looking forward to the 2nd half! I’m so excited for all the new projects! Oh how I wish I could become your full time gardener! So much to work with! However I’m most excited for the day I get to visit Lalande with my daughter! xx

Thank you for the chat! Loved it. What are the main points one should look for regarding buying a chateau? Especially regarding the house as such? I've noticed many chateaus have oil heating. This is something to consider since it has to change. Not environmentally good or financially sound. I was thinking, would solar panels be a choice? Not at the chateau itself, due to building restrictions, I'm guessing, but on the outbuildings and they feed the chateau. What do you think? I would like to have a business based on saving animals who needs a loving home. So I'll need lots of lands. An estimate would be at least 10 h. I would focus on dogs, but I'm considering donkeys, sheep etc. Usually when buying a house, one would check, sewage, electricity, structure och roof and I'm guessing the same goes for chateaus. What else is important? And what does it mean when it says it's listed? Does that mean no structural work can be done? I would love some advice from you. Lots of love.

Anonymous

Since I know you love charity shops ......where is the nearest to you and What/Where is your favorite charity shop. Thank you.

Anonymous

What a great Vlog really interested to hear other peoples questions and so excited to hear the answer to one of mine - my husbands ears certainly pricked up when he heard our name. Thank you. What do you think makes the Chateau a happy place it certainly doesn't come across as creepy at all - everyone seems to have that aura of peace, happiness, productivity etc. xx

Stephanie, I am dying to know how was "moving day" from England to La Lande: did you move at once or in small trips? Did you do the move alone, or did you hire a moving company to bring your things? How was the first night at La Lande as the owner? I adore the vlogs!

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie, I really enjoy your vlogs. I especially enjoy your mother. Would she be comfortable sharing her love story with Perci (spl?)

Anonymous

how many animals do you have on the property, how did they get their names, and are the plans for any more?

Anonymous

Stephanie, I would like to send Mummy a wind chime for her green house. Do you think she would like it or will it make problems scaring away the birds? Thanks so much ...take care !!

Anonymous

Loved this Q&A and looking forward to the next one.

Anonymous

You will definitely get to a million subscribers! Better warn Nic right away. Meanwhile, what colour are his eyes? :-D

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie, would you consider a work away who can help you get on top of the email/admin? I would love to help out but I have limited mobility so I've often thought I can't volunteer as I can't help out with physical activity. But I could certainly help you get your inbox under control! (I'm a security cleared civil servant with diary management experience!)

Anonymous

What perfume did you put onto the welcome cards? My daughter and I would like to smell like the chateau!!

Anonymous

It happens. Don't worry- waiting hours and hours away from home to upload is a nightmare! Enjoy your vavagin!
