Now in Production: The Definitive (And Not at All Facetious) Sonic Timeline (Patreon)
Content
Hello everyone. As always, thank you for your support and tolerating, I mean, enjoying what we do. We will potentially be slowing our uploads some for a while going forward. While ultimately that is a good thing, unfortunately, the reason for it is due to banking recording of a new series of videos we will be releasing. We'll still manage to fit in the odd LP and discussion video, as an example we recorded a quick thing on the Tokyo 2020 Olympics game tonight and I have a 3DS Generations playthrough ready for us to tackle soon.
You may have heard David mention his incredibly detailed Sonic timeline, and if you're very active in the Discord server you've seen a glimpse of it, perhaps. After a lot of "Man, what if we made a video going over this timeline?" quips from us, we sat down and actually thought about how to do it. We quickly realized that it would take much more than a single video to truly cover all of it. At present it is a sprawling 5451 x 2809 image with many branching paths and alternate timeline considerations. That said, it comes from David T. Lurker, and is therefore absolutely official with no room left for debate. As an example, our raw audio recording for Episode 1 is roughly 57 minutes, and...this...is all that we covered in it...
...needless to say, we are going in-depth. We recorded roughly 3 hours on Saturday and another 2 hours tonight. It will take me some time to piece this together, and I want to have at least most of it completed before it goes up publicly. We hope to release this week by week. Our $5 patrons will be receiving the videos as they are finished, of course. I will need to begin scraping together footage for practically every Sonic game so this will take some preproduction time so that each video is at least a little more than us panning over the flow chart. This won't be a high production edit job, but due to the resources I'll be gathering will take some time.
So far we're very happy with our discussions and we believe you'll enjoy them too. Essentially if you have ever wanted me, Stephen, Stefan, and David to all go over the series' stories in depth and go over the tons of ways in which they do and could connect, this is for you. If you have enjoyed our groove over the last few LPs then this is more of that, just with more focus...and a lot of David talking, since it is his timeline after all. We aim to brand each video as if it could be standalone and we will try to make them as easy to hop into as we can, but this is a series at the end of the day. I am not one to talk about projects before they are completed, but I wanted to mention this one early so you all know what's up and what to look forward to. I'm using a lot of words here to describe what we essentially already do in LPs, but for those who prefer the LP format I wanted to make sure it was known those will be more infrequent for a while.
Uh, yeah! So that's all for now! We're having fun and excited for these, that's the main gist of it! Please take care, and be sure to tip your waitress. Sonic Colors Ultimate's early access is in about 6 more hours, oh man! Wonder if it'll be good! Let's complain on the internet about it.
