I've recently begun digging into After Effects and a few other programs and just spent the day doing an interesting little experiment. With some luck, I may be able to subtly animate veins. I'm doing a test render now. The render will take over 8 hours for 1:30 minutes of video. This requires a monster of a computer. I won't be able to do this often, especially since it will really only work in high contrast environments and when there isn't much movement. But if it works the way I hope, this will look neat. Fingers crossed :)

Awesome!

WickedWizz

Looking forward to it!

Wow, that's awesome sounding! Can't wait to see how it looks on your girls.

CJoe

If you succeed, it will be a awesome addition to certain video portions.

Can’t wait!

It worked!! It's extremely subtle. Probably barely visible without a high resolution display. It looks neat on a 4K screen. The downside is: this takes an incredible amount of memory to do and my computer isn't really up to the task. So I'll probably save it for a few select shots (like growth scenes). Or maybe I need to downgrade to 1440p. How many of you actually watch in 2160p?

CJoe

FHD only for me, not yet a 4K user. :)

You are going to love upgrading. 4K is beautiful. Even 1440p to 1080p makes a huge difference. Oddly enough 1440p to 4K doesn't make as big a difference to me. I think I'll stick with 1440p for most projects now, because of a slightly better frame rate and much faster render times.

WickedWizz

tbh I don't think a upgrade from 1440p to 4k is even conceivable on a 22' monitor. And I personally think I would not recognize a difference of 1080p to 1440p on a 22' either. My display can't reach that resolution anyways. When the time comes I'll have to invest into a new monitor then so be it, but I'll hold off until then~ Please check your dA notes btw ;) If I could I'd send you notes here (I figure you would check by here more often) I'd do it, but since that's not possible I'll have to stick to dA.

Imo 2160p is overkill and goes beyond the amount of detail offered by the textures or geometry in SL. It’s better to go for HQ 1440p renders instead of using tons of horsepower for 2160p that only offers a marginally better experience.

Really looking forward to the results, I am a freak for vascularity.
