Well gee, that line in GoI saying “the army first fielded was drilled by the professional NCOs of the peacetime army” made it seem like the army was better fit than the conscript-filled battalions of 607. Now it’s hard to gauge whether the army improved or deteriorated over the war. I guess it did both in different ways
