Hello allies! Today Brad and I discuss an anime we deeply love: One Piece. We've both been watching/reading it for years and are excited to finally get to talk about it in detail.

Admittedly, this episode has been the biggest challenge for us simply because One Piece is so huge. Because of that, we elected to speak broadly about the series and offer personal experiences. The next series we discuss will be much smaller in scope.

One Piece games usually get the short straw compare to Naruto, I think mostly because the world and the fights are so grand, I mean the entire GTA5 map in one single fight big, the only good (not excellent) ones I think are the unlimited advanture games, the newest being Unlimited World Red if I remember correctly.

Also One Piece is a manga, not an anime, keep that in your heart and you will realize most of its flaws are due to imperfect/inadequate adaptation than the fault of Oda himself, he admittedly has nothing to do with the anime and only 2 movies.

Pacing issues with the manga is also due to its format, read whole arcs in one go will make most pacing issues disappear before your eyes.

Great episode but I just wanted a clarification. Ben mentioned his favorite arc being "Alabasta with Nami". Did you mean Alabasta with Vivi and Crocodile, or Arlong Park with Nami and Arlong? Think some things got mixed up there.

Hey Brad and Ben! Thank you so much for your efforts for this episode! :D I want to give you guys some feedback and some suggestions; - The other anime recommendations at the end of the episode are great! You should do something like that for the anime you're currently discussing at the top of the show as well :D really sells the 'why you should watch this' part very well - Like others have said, One Piece is huge and this episode was kind of all over the place. I know this show is still growing so hope you guys will find a nice structure to have a more fluid discussion in future episodes~ - Maybe you can always do a run down of your favorite characters, things you like about the series (music, art style, fight scenes, magic system, etc) and have that in mind before you start the show so you don't end up having to put each other on the spot when you start recording - How about focusing on only one or two arcs (one arc per person? especially in a gigantic series such as One Piece or Naruto) for each EZAnime episode? I think if you focus your impressions and reactions on a per-arc basis it would be much easier to have a focused and in depth discussion - This way, you do not need to be super vague about things and discussing the anime wont be so daunting. And you can always come back to an anime and discuss other (or newly released) arcs in future EZAnime episodes Just my two cents. Hope you guys read this! Love and Respect :D

Oh and Nami isn't greedy she's just worldly, and I can point to her actions on Water Seven, Thriller Bark and Sabaody auction house to easily prove my point, money is just a tool for her to use to help the crew and friends she come across when necessary (meaning when you can't just brute force the problem) as she understands the importance of wealth better than anyone due to her (horrific) upbringing and lets be serious for a moment whom else in the crew can be entrusted with financial management anyway...

For games, Unlimited Cruise 1 and 2 for Wii are definitely the best. They weren't released in North America but they were in Europe.

Great suggestions I too get a feeling that they've gotten a bit overwhelmed by the sheer volume of One Piece, a bit of structure would help them out greatly especially help getting rid of the awkward pausing throughout the video in between topics . Also I feel like they were a little too careful about the spoilers, I mean if you bother to put spoiler warning on the title then why not go all out?

I never watched anime and the amount of seasons is intimidating, but I will give One Piece a chance :)

My recommendation is, just start watching. Don't worry about the number of episodes or how long it will take. Just watch and take in what's being shown. If you like it, continue watching. You could actually end up being glad that there's so much to look forward to.

I only read the first few volumes for Once Piece and then dropped off. Like Ben, the art style wasn't my favorite and the terrible English dub pushed me further away as well. I've seen a handful of the more recent episodes though and hearing the discussion here I would probably enjoy it a lot if I went back and gave it another go. Great recommendations at the end! Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei is a wonderful series and the art style is so unique. I think Kitus had some excellent feedback on the episode. I'm sure there wasn't much time to prepare and fitting a huge series into a 50 minute episode is daunting. I'm glad you're focusing on some short format anime for the next episode. My only other note is the silent outro was a bit jarring, not sure if a musical outro would work for this show but the silence definitely stood out to me this time. I'm so glad we're getting a break from long running series! I think I mentioned it before but maybe every 3-4 months put up a poll of just heavy hitters and do a slightly longer episode for those so you can still give those shows the attention they deserve but not overwhelm yourselves. I'd love to see an EZAnime and Movie podcast crossover special, at some point in the future, with talk about some favorite anime films! :) Thanks for the episode! We're gonna be spoiled this month with the bonus Jojo!
