Hello Allies!

It's the second week of the month, which is normally the time when I'll ask you to choose between three games for us to compete in for our highly-competitve Intramural Tournaments. However, at the end of last week's Group Stream Night we were surprised by a complete fighting game starring each of the Easy Allies created by Adam Henry. Check this link out if you missed it: https://youtu.be/5l-kEoIVU6g?t=7987

To put it simply: There's no way we're not playing this for our tournament this month. We even finally figured out how to do dodge rolls and combos. We still need your input however, and it's to determine the rules of this tournament. There are 9 Easy Allies and 9 corresponding video game characters. Our options are:

You Be You - Each Easy Ally must play in the tournament as their corresponding character

Have a Draft - Numbers are drawn at random, then in that order each Easy Ally picks whom they would like to play as, as well as something they love about that person in real life. No one can select their own character

Random House - Nine names are put into Damiani's hat. Each Easy Ally pulls a name and must play as that character. If an Easy Ally picks their own name, or creates a situation where the person after would be stuck to play as their own character, they must redraw

I could see each scenario being very interesting, so I'm excited to see where you take this one. Group Stream Night is every Tuesday night at 6pm PT on twitch.tv/easyallies and archived on youtube.com/easyalliesplays

Oh, and we haven't worked out our specific time frame yet, but it's worth noting here that our 1 Year Celebration Megastream will take place on Thursday, March 23rd. Make sure you let us know what you'd like to see streamed on that day.

Love & Respect,
Kyle

P.S. If you care about the running score for EZA Intramural Tournaments of 2017, here they are:

January - Crazy Taxi - Winner: Michael Huber
February - For Honor - Winner: Ben Moore

You be you: When your character loses in the game, you lose in real life.

Input One

'Have a Draft' definitely seems like more of a positive experience.

Are the Sophie and Amanda DLC available yet?

Anonymous

Keep it canon. You be you. Jackman's Intent.

Anonymous

'Have a Draft' definitely most embodies love and respect. And is the most fun I think, playing as yourselves is expected!

Anonymous

I think it would be cool if you streamed games sent in by fans during the mega stream.

David Rodríguez Madriñán

Playing as yourselves would be using your classic references as weapons, makes more sense... Draft is getting a lot of votes because of course we want to hear you say nice things about each other!! But this is a tournament, you shall win or lose by your own memes and catchphrases!

I like the idea of a draft. Obviously L&R, but has the opportunity to become spicy as well. The more hijinks, the better.

draft for meeeeeeeeeee

You be you for sure :)

Jason I.

I don't like the idea of a draft only because someone is going to have to be picked last.

Have a draft for FRIENDSHIP

In the 1y mega stream, please work some time in for Ultimate Chicken Horse. It's a wonderful local multiplayer party platformer for up to 4 people. The goal is to get from A to B, but you build the level yourself with items from a random Party Box at the start of each round. There's traps and objects can be stuck together with honey/glue, so things can get out of hand pretty quickly. Please try it out. I've been wanting to see you guys play it since Easy Allies launched just a couple of weeks after it officially came out! As for the vote, I really don't know. Either of them will be great, but I ended up voting Random house since I think the surprise would be fun.

Draft is bad because the game may not be balanced and first choosers have an advantage. Random gets my vote.

Anonymous

You be You :) Also maybe you should come up with some stage picking rules, for example best of 3, first stage random and then and you go to the losers' character's stage.

Alexander Zyryanov

I'm sure that some characters are OP, so random is the way to go.

Draft for the feels

Draft the Love, Draft the Respect

I was in for Random House, but i'll change the vote to my second option, the Draft

Jay Rutley

You Be You but you can't be you in the losers bracket, you have to get out of the losers bracket to re-win the "right" to be yourself ;)

Anonymous

Exactly this. I say they combine the random and draft so they pick randomly and have to say something nice about the person they're playing as. It also removes the advantage of the first person who gets to pick.

You be You! May the best ally win!

I voted for Random because it could create nice unexpectedness, but apparently that option isn't going to win. You Be You would have been my second choise. And Draft I absolutely not want to see, so I was surprised by its popularity. Don't be fooled by that L&R package! :P (Okay, there is some randomness in that, too, as who gets to go first. So basically anything goes, when I think about it.)

BeardedScotsman86

I want it to be random, but it is too far behind, so going for draft pick.

For the mega stream I'd like to see some more For Honor!!! Mortal Kombat X also so Huber can feel the kill.

Anonymous

I voted "You be you" because I've got the feeling that it is closest to the creators intent. And when the tournament is over you can go wild and mix it up.

Anonymous

Draft would be much funner! Plus saying something you love about the other would be fun to hear

Anonymous

screen cheat would be awesome to see again last time was amazing! also the draft pleeeease itd be so much fun and so jolly

Michael Tucci

A draft would be the funniest thing.

Anonymous

Its gotta be the draft. Too much L&R

Anonymous

A draft is like gym class all over again.

That's why it's fun. We get to relive our youthful misery.
