TLDR: More short contained Thieves Guild missions, less distractions and hangups. Sorry, to clarify. Bringing the gang into town was a great decision and giving them all these new characters and situations to interact with is great. I guess my problem is that momentum is so often slowed by getting into arguments over what to do next, or by Ben having an NPC be pedantic about something instead of just letting the players have their way and move on. Perfect example is Therese using an illusion to make it look like she ate the candy, and Ben immediately calling her out on it, and not letting the encounter progress until his character got what it wanted. What could've been a 5 second gag turned into a 5 minutes of forcing Therese to eat a piece of candy. What’s worse is that this same thing happened last episode when she tried to sneak her weapons into the thieves guild. And then there's the whole Pomper and Moof thing. How many episodes is Huber going to devote to trying to bring Moof back to life. Couldn't his character be trying to do something more substantial? Ben could find an excuse to bring Moof back to life in a second if he wanted. The Thieves guild setup is the perfect plot device to send the gang off on short contained missions. Not everything has to devolve into getting arrested, chased out of town, Red Dragon ultimatums or offending NPCs. It would be amazing if the Allies agreed to just focus on completing a small mission before getting sidetracked on their own personal distractions. I know the Allies love to RP, but it gets exhausting when the same encounters happen over and over again and when plot progression stalls over dumb little things. I think they need to remember that the point of the show isn't just to service the character's RP motivations but also to entertain the audience with an interesting narrative.
