This game did have 4 weapons! The axe, blades, spear and barehands!

I gotta comment on your read on the secret panel on the back of Loki's shrine at the end of the game, because it seems like you all misread that. Granted, they don't do a very good job of framing that moment well and I've heard others not really getting it either. It shows people worshiping Kratos as a benevolent god by putting up a statue of him and bringing offerings to him. That's why he was so touched, because it's the ultimate redemption arc where he finally becomes somebody who people love and revere, as opposed to the monster/tool that just kills everyone. It goes back to the scene where Odin chews Kratos out on having been a god in the past and how nobody revered him because he was always just focused on his own interests (which is really ironic and hypocritical coming from Odin btw). That's also why I think we're not gonna have another mainline God of War with Kratos in the lead. His story is done. He's now truly on the path of settling down and finding peace. I honestly wouldn't want him to get thrown into a conflict with another pantheon by this point. Not after all this growth he has gone through. He's suffered through enough by this point.

Yeah, that was my understanding of it too, but maybe we didn't dive enough into that specific topic. I'm still not sure on what it means for Kratos in future games though. -Bloodworth

to add onto this it, after going back and looking at that scene it seems to be painted over(kratos being worshipped) by i assume angrboda, the original metal embosing style like the others is still underneath and looks like the orginal scene of kratos being dead in loki's arms with what looks like Thor standing over them. as in they did change fate and this is what angrboda sees as his new fate.

Don’t forget the bow and Ingrid. The weapon handles as well.
