HYPE!! that intro music sold me instantly!!! keep it up EZA :) Side note, Damiani really needs a better mic haha

Anonymous

Cool Idea guys -- It would be sweet if it was at least an hour.

Watching now, but quick bit of feedback, it would be nice to have whose view we're watching to be on the screen someplace. (I know I could remember the character name and then associate that with a person but not this quickly.) Other than that, so far so good. Looking forward to more. :)

Ok...I shut my mouth for a long time because...well love and respect... but Damiani shows nothing of those things just mentioned to any of the allies. It's constant trolling and he's constantly overstepping boundaries of "casual" trolling while beeing completely oblivious that everybody is annoyed by his behavior. This video was cringe worthy to watch. Really sorry to write this because everybody else and even most Patrions are awesome personalities but I think somebody needs to start this conversation. Damiani : Being the "Troll" of the group is not "cool". This is not how one should define their personality.

Oh man, did that ever make me want to try to get back into FFXIV! I played the game for a month when it initially released, and never really went back for some reason -- this totally reminded me of how fun the game is! Great new sow allies!

I'm a Eorzean too, awesome video! Loved it! pls more :p Greetings from the Jenova server o/

I really want to like this video, but I actually find it kind of frustrating. I guess I'm having trouble determining your intended audience for this video? I don't know anything about Final Fantasy 14, and I'd be interested to learn if this video was about teaching me these thing, but it really feels like this video is for people who are already familiar with the game. When the bubbles started up in the boss fight I was genuinely curious what the mechanic was, but it was never explained, and it felt like Damiani was pandering to an audience that already knew how the encounter worked. So, if that's your intent here, to make a video series for people who already know the game, then I can't really comment, but if it's intended for people who do not know the game, then I can say it really missed the mark for me. If the video explained things about the game as it went on that would help unfamiliar people out, even simple things like explaining the classes or a little piece of the story leading into the dungeon or quest. As it stands there was nothing wrong with this video, but I think there's a very cool opportunity to make this series both fun and like a digital tour of the game, but right now it's not really either.

Truth be Trolled should be a catch phrase! Damiani Hijinks lol.

I think more FFXIV may be fun to watch, though I wasn't a big fan of Domiani's humor in the run. I do like Dales suggestion about adding the players names would make it easier to watch and enjoy. Also it was nice to find out the Allies are also on Gilgamesh.

Anonymous

I had someone pull the whole Pirate Bar room as well on one of my Sastasha runs. We came close to finishing them off but succumbed in the end as well. Can't wait to see the first Trial.

Anonymous

All this video did was make me want to get back into the game so I could foster everyone's skills by being the "Rock" of the team, either as a tank or a healer. The troll is much too strong here.

James Post

Starting to get the sense of the fictional Damiani who swooped in on the girl that Bosman liked.

I enjoyed it. I just got into FFXIV two weeks ago and as a Gladiator I felt Ben's pain. And a little trolling amongst friends can be fun. As long as it's not every single episode. Going forward I'd love to see some Fates and exploring.

Anonymous

I don't understand the hate...I don't have a clue about final fantasy xiv, but I like the idea of the allies working and playing together. The humor and exploration has a nice touch. Overall, as the fellow allies mentioned...having the characters name shown to know who we are seeing and a bit of a back story behind the mission before starting it would be awesome. Keep up the great work and thank you for the unexpected new show 👏🏽😎

What was the goal of the episode? High jinks? If that's the ultimate goal then let those things happen naturally. They're much more genuine and will resonate with the audience as a whole in a more meaningful way. Forcefully trolling to create those situations was almost painful to watch as the reactions from Ben summed it up best; "I've never been in a PUG this bad."

Anonymous

Like the idea, think it was a bit forced. I'd prefer to see it being goal driven like all of you levelling new characters together with the goal of reaching cap and recording the highlights of your adventure.

Anonymous

This is a good idea but the execution could be a little better. I have a few suggestions but I've never played this game so some might not work. Player names on the perspective of the characters. Less cluttered UI (I know the UI is precious to MMO players but it makes watching uncomfortable.) Better camera angles (Ian's camera angle is forgiving for newbies like me but when it switches to Damiani I can't tell what's happening.) More structure to what is talked about (We come here for you so wild and off topic opinions are great but for newbies to mmos and FFXIV we don't know what's happening and the extra context will help lots.) Players calling out what they are doing every now and then would also be helpful. There was an old WoW show called Project Lore, obviously they had studio sets and facecam so it's quite a bit different than what you're going for but they had a good way of presenting WoW to newbies and keeping it enjoyable. Look forward to seeing more in the future.

Since I have no idea how to interpret any of the things going on in this game, it's hard to keep up with Damiani's trolls sometimes. I think it's hard for the allies as well lol

havik

this is really cool!

Anonymous

This is far from being the best video from EZA. You can't really understand whats happening and too much trolling from Damiani. I am glad this was just a "pilot" episode.

Anonymous

Not a fan of this show, would rather have them talking about trailers for half an hour instead

Anonymous

That seems to be Damiani's thing and it makes videos really annoying

Anonymous

Just watched it. It's definitely a cool concept with great potential, but as a newcomer to FF XIV, I felt a bit lost. Would like to see where this goes!

So as a Patron, I really do feel like I'm obligated to give an honest feedback. It's not the excessive trolling from Damiani that bothers me so much, nor is it the lack of communication to the viewers in explaining what's going on, who is doing what , etc., (it's all a bit of a mess to say the least), but it's really just the whole concept of this show that just isn't working for me. I can't speak for others obviously, but for real, I could barely keep my attention span in for the full duration of the episode. I always WATCH the weekly podcasts, even though there's hardly ever any action on camera that is important to observe, but yet, this whole episode of this show, I looked at the screen maybe a handful of times. It was just too dry and dull for me. I also don't feel the enthusiasm from any of the EZA guys who are playing; they all sound like they're just being forced to play more than anything else. As a whole, this show would probably be better live as a Twitch Stream, and even then, it still lacks the excitement that other streams from EZA have. I apologize if I have come off too harsh, it's not my intention. P.S. A little trolling is great fun and all, but excessive trolling can come off as douchey, which is why I believe a lot of people are pointing it out. Damiani, you may want consider simmering down on the troll level.

Nut Kon

Damiani, there's a difference between being a troll and being an ass

Anonymous

I actually enjoyed this. Damiani can tone it down a bit, but I loved it because I am currently playing this game. Which probably explains why. I appreciated it anyway. It was a first episode too. So I never expected it to be perfect. More would be good though. Cheers.

Anonymous

This didn't work when Game Grumps did it, and it doesn't work here either. Watching the Allies play a game that they clearly have no enthusiasm for while Damiani acts like a cheeky jerk isn't entertaining to watch. You guys' time is better spent elswhere.

Anonymous

Sorry to say this but I gotta agree with many people, this doesn't seem to work. For someone who doesn't know much about Final Fantasy XIV (I played a couple hours with the free trial), this doesn't excite or entertain me. It feels like the idea was great on paper, but you didn't have that much fun doing it, and we don't have much fun watching it. Not a big deal guys, 99% of your content is entertaining, but this one shouldn't continue (at least on that format, maybe a progress report of some sort...)

Anonymous

Hey guys I see a bit of critism already and the last thing I want to do is disscourage you from trying new things but after watching this i'm a little confused as to what it's even supposed to be or who it's aimed at. It kinda of feels like this may be better suited to a stream rather than a show as for many of us who not are not huge fans of MMO's or FFIV it was extremely hard to follow or make sense of what was happening at times, since we were just jumping around from place to place and it didnt help that almost nothing was explained either. In a weird way this almost felt like a stream with the best parts cut out, which for me is hearing you guys discussing and sharing your opinions on aspects of the game. I don't mean to sound harsh but this felt like the most un-EZA show that you guys have done, it lacked personality imo and just kind of felt flat and dull. Sorry if this comes off as very negative it's nothing personal, just my honest opinion. If others like it by all means continue with it, it may be that its just not for me.

Damiani PLEASE get a new mic!

Took the words out of my mouth, I'm a main tank in any MMO I play and that's the kind of person I dislike running into. Usually "That" Hunter in WoW that pulls and wonders why you didn't grab aggro when it's a pack you don't need to pull. Granted it's with a lot less scathing hatred because they're friends, but the way it felt watching that was like he's intentionally trying to make them dislike the game, I had to stop watching right before the 2nd captain fight when he overpulled in the bar area. Maybe I just don't "Get" his humor, but if his intention was to try and get these guys into the game....he missed the mark, poor ben was trying extremely hard to not look bad, I totally felt for him there. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, maybe this was the show idea all along, maybe it wasn't meant to be serious, maybe it was an intentional troll to prank the crew, no idea. But I was kind of excited to watch them play, cause I personally love FF14. Just....I dunno, turn the trolling down a notch. It's like intentionally giving people bad info when they're genuinely seeking help.

This has been an issue since the first video, constantly came up in the comments and even during Cup o' Jones. Get. A. New. Mic. Damiani. Jones already said it would be no problem. Aparently you don't care, but there seem to be people who like to listen to what you have to say without their ears falling off. I don't expect Damiani to listen to CoJ or read this (again... I am super disappointed by lack of love and respect towards the Patrions comments and Allies produced content...and he made clear several times that he doesn't give a f¥€$) but if someone would tell him....again... that would be dandy.

Anonymous

well, Bosman is also a troll, but he knows when and how to do it. Don't mistake my comment for "full hate" on Damiani, he's a knowledgeable guy, I loved his video on Zelda. He just goes into troll mode every time he's doing a video with the other allies, and it's just plain not funny, makes the mood go to zero.

Anonymous

Shouldn't this be under the Let's Play channel on Youtube?

Anonymous

This has potential. I didn't really like the first episode of Don's Discount Gaming, but episode 2 was really good, and episode 3 is legitimately great. So I have hope that this show can rapidly improve.

Do Fates!!! so everyone can play

Michael Eaton

Too bad this isn't a WoW series. I would have been really into that.

I was not expecting this, it is going to be great!
