You guys are seriously spoiling us today! We got Tabletop Escapades, The EZA Podcast, and now this?? :) Too good of a Wednesday.

Ballsy! All that's missing is a third piece about the documentary The Art of Killing where an Indonesian death-squad reenact their mass killings in cinematic fashion. Mostly with pride and glee, it's chilling stuff.

This was a fun one to watch during lunch.

Manhunt is too violent for me to enjoy, but I like the Pigsy boss.

All this talk of blood, violence, entrails, and murder kind of clashes with the floral couch for this episode lol.

I'd like to revisit Manhunt. I really enjoyed it when it came out back in the day, and I know it's on the PS4 now. Looking forward to Green Room. Sometimes brutal violence is necessary for the story you are telling. Sometimes it's exploitation. It's all relative. Huber I hope you've seen The Nice Guys, it's an incredible movie. One of the best of the year.

I tried Manhunt back in the day, but never could get past how brutal it was. You are a stronger man than I. I was in a gaming slump recently where nothing was catching my eye to play. That's when I gave "Blues and Bullets" for PS4 a chance. Immediate elation. An uneasy alliance between Eliot Ness and Al Capone, Telltale style game with a gritty nior detective story, and Sin City style visuals. I know Huber is a busy guy but I will repost this all the way up to Mafia 3 in the hopes he would give this hidden gem a shot. For the Syndrome it goes well with "Elite Squad" a modern day Untuchables story set in Brazil based on true events.

HUBER! YOU SCREWED UP IN THE HEAD! AND I DON'T MEAN THAT IN NO NICE WAY! PS - If you want to watch something really jerked up, watch the Korean film "Old Boy." As a matter of fact, I dare Michael P. Huber TO LINK that FILM with some video game, and give US A SICK ASS SYNDROME episode about it.

Good episode! I gotta say though, Green Room kind of missed the mark for me. SPOILERS MAYBE FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVEN'T SEEN IT: I thought the first 2/3rds were incredible, such great setup and buildup! But once the sh*t hits the fan and the violence starts... I'm not sure how meaningful those deaths were. It seemed like the good people got killed way too quickly and the Nazis, in the end, got off wayyyyyy too easy. The most brutal deaths happened to the punks. The Nazi who killed the initial girl doesn't even die! I think when dealing with Nazis in film, they need to be torn to shreds. Especially in a film like this!

Hey Huber, would appreciate if you could feedback on the community comments that you received form the previous show. Liked the way you handled it in your last show, you know the one with the Huber and the hype...

Hold on, Ian Hinck is in a movie now?

Great episode man!!! ballsy!

Robert I.

I'm not complaining, but I will pose a question, is this not white balanced correctly on purpose? The aesthetic is very noticeable to me... But it is a grim subject this week and the show is called 'Syndrome'... So intentional?

Huber, I strongly recommend you check out the movie Taegukgi. It's a South Korean film about the Korean war, but unlike other war films, this movie is not about good guys vs bad guys; rather, it's about the brutal and emotionally distraught environment of war, and how it affects everyone. It's also very, very gory, as you get to see a guy smash another guy's head open with a rock. However, the way death and all other war-related themes are portrayed in this film is just incredible to say the least. Easily one of my favorite movies of all time.

Huber check out the movie Funny Games from 2007. It is similar sounding to Green Room although it is more dark humor.. but explores and questions why people enjoy violence in movies while being violent itself.

Somebody moved their Gilmore Girls dvds out of the shot... That was my girlfriends favorite part of the show!

Manhunt 2 was ruined when they redid the kills / ruined the kills with the censoring filter

Manhunt is on my List of games that should not have been made.

With the title, I was expecting talk about the game Murder Death Kill aka MDK. I had a weirdly good time with that back in the day.

I don't know if I've taken enjoyment in violence quite like that of the movie "Riki Oh: The Story of Ricky". This movie is a lot like other campy kung fu movies, except this one is set in a prison, and the violence is downright brutal! we're talking about spike traps smashing into people's faces, people being impaled, and dudes trying to STRANGLE each other with their OWN INTESTINES. Google "Riki Oh head smash" - this is a clip of a guy smashing another man's head with his bare hands. The clip used to be used on every episode of the Daily Show in the Craig Kilborn days.

Might i suggest a patron design competition for huber's show art? Anything that isnt Microsoft paint would be a big improvement! Sorry Huber but you were asking for it, the time has come to confront your fears. ; )
