32:36 The possibility of Day One patches going away from legacy Sony titles is the part I think no one is comprehending around this issue. There are an insane number of titles devs "commit" to fix known and severe issues in their titles in order to meet their release dates. So they agree to work on the Day One patch while the games are printed on discs. This is an issue that affects all games on the systems, not just digital if patch updates to titles goes away. I'm more than sure EZA members are familiar with issues that can occur in pre-release versions over release day games when playing review copies. That means those pre-release versions are now the versions of record. Shout out to Jones though, he acknowledged my concern that this is all off a very vague source article.

Hi there, thank you for covering the Disco Elysium situation in Australia, as a frustrated Australian allow me to provide some context on the situation, you guys generally got it right and the Guardian article was very good. Prior to 2013 the highest rating for games was MA15+ so as Blood said anything that was not suitable for children technically would be banned, Mortal Kombat (the PS3/360 game) was originally banned because of its violence as it released before the R18+ rating was introduced. Though many games did "slip through" to the MA15+ rating back then too, either with no modification or minor ones. Finally the R18+ rating was introduced and the first game to be released with that rating was funnily enough a game for the Wii U ... Ninja Gaiden Sigma 3 ... Mortal Kombat then finally came out too uncensored. Many Australian adult gamers celebrated as finally an adult rating was implemented reflecting the fact that you know adults play games!!! However, the R18+ rating was only a half step unfortunately. In Australia classification ratings for games are the same labels as films and they range from G, PG, M (unrestricted categories), MA15+ and R18+ (restricted categories). However the principles applied are NOT consistent with films, essentially more strict content restrictions apply for games compared to film. This is because while a R rating category was introduced in 2013, the guidelines that must be applied by the classification board are based on a code that was written in the 1990's, where it was believed games were more children's toys than legitimate media. So, we have an adult R18+ rating but outdated guidelines to apply to them, which is why we are seeing bizarre situations of games being banned in Australia today, it's usually smaller indie games that get caught up with it too because they probably don't even realise it would be a problem (and why would they!). There are two key areas that will result in an automatic ban and are not deemed acceptable under a R18+ rating based on the current 1990s code. https://www.legislation.gov.au/Details/F2012L01934 1. Sexual violence, i.e. actual sexual violence is not permitted (presumingly video of rape), implied sexual violence not justified by context is not permitted or related to incentives and rewards is not permitted) 2. Drug use, drug use related to incentives and rewards is not permitted, Interactive illicit or proscribed drug use that is detailed and realistic is not permitted. Everything else that you would expect in adult content violence, language, nudity, sex scenes, general drug use is indeed permitted, hence many adult games release in Australia uncensored, Last of Us 2, Cyberpunk 2077 etc. The main issue with the code as you can probably tell, is the restrictions around drug use it is very very restrictive and unworkable. Essentially if the player can take real drugs and it affects the gameplay in some positive way it will be banned, regardless of context. Clearly this is out of touch and a game like Disco Elysium gets caught up in it. Note this only relates to real life illegal drugs, if the drug is fictional then it is fine. Fallout changed morphine to MedX to get around the restriction, that's how ridiculous it is. Now regarding Disco Elysium's availability in Australia it was and still is available to purchase on Steam, games on Steam are not rated by the Australian classification board, I believe because Valve doesn't have an Australian storefront, they display prices in Australian dollars but that's it, it's kind of a loop hole really, but since Disco Elysium the final cut had a console release it MUST be submitted to the classification board and hence was refused classification. Had the game been submitted for a rating originally it likely would have been banned back then as well. So, what can we do about this? The Australian classification board is a government body so the only way we can fix this issue is to change the law. The code mentioned above needs to be updated, it needs to be consistent with the code applied to film. There was some positive steps the Australian government had taken in this regard ... back in late 2019, early 2020 where they commenced a review of the classification system to ensure it reflected the standards of today, this was the opportunity to change the law. That review sought community consultation and many gaming advocacy groups made submissions, the classification board itself would like the code changed but it can only apply the law as it currently stands, the government has to change the law. The last update we saw of the review was in April 2020, which was that the review had been delayed to May 2020 due to COVID-19. Assumingly a final report and recommendations is sitting on a Minister's desk, but nothing has been done about it since. I hope that since Disco Elysium is as Jones said an award winning game, it may actually be finally the push we need for this to get more media attention and push the government to make the necessary changes to the law that we need. All we can do in the meantime is try to out pressure on the government to enact change.

I am watching it now, and yeah, it's a noticeable delay. So, it would have been Zoom, or whatever they're using to record.

About silver lining and Asterix & Obelix. I was made aware of the Genesis game because of the screwattack video Game Vault on GT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYqU-Pj2lpg I hope you guys won't get the type of responses they got about their ignorance (I don't want to use that word, but can't come up with one that doesn't have a negative connotation about just not knowing something) of the characters at that game that the following week they released this update: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRu-KPfU-eo

Correction. There is a Berserk game like the L&R descrived on Dreamcast. The console also has a "Record of Lodos War" Diablo clone.

I think a Gintama game made by the Yakuza team would be amazing. The comedic tone of Gintama along with the awesome action when it get's serious would be perfect for a Yakuza style game. I'd also love a Demon Slayer or Bleach action rpg made by Nihon Falcom that played like the Ys games or Tokyo Xanadu. A Black Clover RPG made by the Tales team would also work very well in my opinion.

I'd like the person who submitted the Hitman correction to back that claim up, because I cannot find any evidence that Square Enix has any ties to the Hitman IP going forward.
