Xbox was busy buying up Bethesda this week while its community was trying to buy up the remainder of Series X|S pre-orders. Amazon also made a big move by announcing their own streaming platform, Rayman-creator Michel Ancel leaves game development entirely, and at the drop of a shadow Kirby is fighting himself again on the Switch.

I remember the PS2 launch and our Walmart only got 12 for the Xmas season, and we were the largest one in the country at the time. I had to set up a local network with my retail counterparts at Target, Gamestop, and Best Buy to get an idea of numbers in the area to relay to customers. This is not new.

I really enjoyed this episode. Damiani and Blood were both on fire!

Damiani's Microsoft/Bethesda takes are so strange. I mean yeah, it's possible they could make this stuff exclusive but there isn't anything in the way that Microsoft has *recently* done business to suggest that is likely. And I'm not even going to try to understand why he thinks that would be something to be excited about.

Suggestion: EZA News Flash is in my opinion a terrible name, that is not at all as interesting as the previously successful, Breaking News

CORRECTION: I believe you read the year wrong on the first question for Skyrim's the Limit. The membership would expire in the year 75 Million AD, not 75 Thousand

Heck yeah Brad using a uni-ball pen, the best pen next to Pilot G2

Aw, no more regular Ian makes me sad 😔.

Microsoft and Sony should have delayed the launch to March 2021 to have enough consoles and avoid the preorder chaos. Both would have sold the same amount of consoles in their fiscal year and people would have been less annoyed.

Opting out of downloading 4K textures/content is already an option on current Xbox One Consoles.

To be fair, I think one of the biggest sells Microsoft had in Japan wasn't Vesperia or Blue Dragon, but Monster Hunter. Specifically the Asian-only 'Monster Hunter Frontiers' MMO that was PC exclusive from its release in 2007 up to 2010--where Microsoft bought HARD into console exclusivity there. There were multiple Xbox 360 bundles for Monster Hunter Frontier, and from 2010 to 2013 the Xbox was the only console that had access to it. Once 2013 came around though, Frontier rebooted into Frontier G and only saw console exclusivity from April 2013 to about November, where multiple versions started rolling out for the PS3, PS Vita and even the Wii-U. Meanwhile Tales of Vesperia? They went with Microsoft for the funding, and immediately upon release of the 360 version started developing the 'definitive' edition for PS3 with additional voicework, extra characters and content that had to be cut for the 360 release and it released about a year later. Microsoft really screwed themselves over since first announced the 360 with the Japanese market. The exclusive titles like Blue Dragon and the like were them just floundering to try and do damage control, but it obviously never really stuck.

Not quite a correction: Almost all of Dreamhaven's staff are former Blizzard Employees, not all of them. One employee, for example, is a former employee of Wizards of the Coast (Kate Welch from the D&D branch of the company). Again, not a correction, just thought it was a fun fact.

Cloisterance

Cool! Would love to see a No-Clip-style vid or article on how they all got together.
