This is great! You guys should do these more often, and hopefully closer to the time that the news breaks. Even if it's just two or so of you who are close to the news (like for Nintendo news, it'd involve Damiani, Souls would involve Brad, etc).

Alright, that was bizarre... I was just thinking a few minutes ago that I wish could get EZA’s take on something so huge right now. I thought it would be cool if someone went live to talk about it for a bit or something and was like “hmm, maybe I should write into cup of jones with that idea.” Then I saw saw this Patreon notification lol! So nevermind that and great idea! Haha

I dig the show idea, keep it up. Also while I like the idea of Sony buying up the Konami IP an then licensing them to other studios, I think they should refrain from buying Konami in total. Not only because I don't think Konami is for sale because they make so much money in other places that they clearly don't care about their games anymore, but you'd garner much greater goodwill if they were to do the thing the collective internet wants an take the IP from Konami who don't know what they are doing anymore.

Love the format for breaking news. On the topic: The continued consolidation of studios in the industry is brutal. It’s a big win for Microsoft and their fans, but as a general “win” for gamers I don’t think so.

I dig the format but it really needs a cool "breaking news" intro to hype up the conversation, setting the tone, just like the spoiler mode intro does it perfectly.

Fantastic new Element to the EZA equation, mr. bloodworth and company. I was made aware of Microsoft's move by you guys this time around, and I was incredibly happy about that. The 20-25min mark on the topic felt just right in length. My only advice is, you struck gold with your pilot episode. Industry news of this caliber are not common. I wish to see more of this format, but I'm concerned what "caliber" news could fit. I think expectations should be set lower, in terms of, yes, we cover big news sooner when they happen, but please don't expect earth-shattering acquisitions like today's to be the norm. That's simply just not on you, fellas. Love, love, love this. Love the EZA! Keep up the fantastic work!! L&R!

I've always enjoyed GameXplain doing something similar to these, and as long as the podcasts can remain interesting alongside the existence of these, I think they're a great addition to the content yall are pumping out. Cheers.

Love it. Like Mbun said, GameXplain does this routinely as is and I’d love to see you guys do this for either major news like this or medium news that happens early in the week or on the weeks after the podcast just dropped.

Already commented on YouTube how much I like this format, but here's an additional suggestion: In the case of stuff like Nintendo announcing Directs which are like a day away (like for example the most recent Partner Showcase) it could be cool to also use this series with the angle of "hey, this is happening tomorrow, what do we think is gonna be in it?" People (myself included) seem to quite enjoy prediction videos, but the podcasts usually miss out on that kinda thing these days because events have been happening so rapidly recently, so using this series for that purpose could be a lot of fun I feel. Just a thought! You might already be planning to do this anyway, ha.

I disagree. There are four Allies here and seven who can be on the podcast. Plus, inbetween this video being recorded there will be updates that can change perspectives. Plus plus, Jones as Moderator can definitely find new and interesting angles of discussing things that probably won't be brought up in videos like these.

Great job with this. Also Blood was a great anchor for this: well informed, able to move the conversation around and keep the pace going. Don't feel pressured to do this, but when there's a headline as big as this, having EA immediately jump in my podcast feed is fantastic. I want to know what EA thinks before anyone else, that's why I'm a patron.

I really appreciate this kind of news info. I saw a comment on the podcast post being disappointed about glossing over the ps5 reveal and your response to that bloodworth. This is a great compromise. As much as I love you guys I also find that I struggle to watch everything you put out, I mostly check in for the big shows and to have to go back to a long reaction video to get your takes is pretty much a nonstarter for me as well so this filled in that gap nicely. Thank you

Props to Blood for having this idea and taking the initiative. You guys can always fill up a 1-2 hour podcast with fluff while having a few videos like this in a week. I'd imagine these types of videos would get good views for the time required to make as well.

This is a good idea. Short, sweet, and to the point. This could be an excellent thing to have free on YouTube for those people who swiftly go out looking for some videos on the latest thing when they hear it.

Blood and gang, this is great. Length was just right and still leaves some discussion on the table for the podcast and other Allies. I recognize that determining when to do this isn't easy but I would listen and watch to more of it.

I love, love, LOVE this new format for big news happening. I think it will not only keep eyes on the Allies more frequently, give more in-depth coverage to the business side of games but also open up a little more room on the podcast to talk about a greater number of smaller things. I would imagine this as a strictly podcast topic it would have eaten up half the discussion time with this one headline and might be old-news by then. The title and thumb are perfect too, not too "click-bait-y" but just enough to intrigue someone to watch. Great job, Allies!!

I agree, now that they have this format locked and loaded, they can do a video like this from home without having to travel (once they are allowed to) so we can still get the "reaction" style coverage AND the urgency of the importance of this news, without having to put so much effort into it that it takes away from the value of the video. If you didn't tune in for CoJ this week Jones mentioned they are considering breaking the "reaction" and the "post-show" discussions of the twitch vod into two separate videos for You tube in the future. This way if people want the "in-depth" only they don't have to wade through the first half of the vod to get to the "meat".

Bloodworth, This is absolutely awesome!!! Thank you all so much for this. I was thinking of sending a question to Cup of Jones about exactly this, where if a news is very big, that the Allies get together and discuss it as soon as possible. Not having to wait till the EZA podcast to discuss it. Another thing is that if one of the Allies see a news like that first, that he warns the others not to check Slack, Twiiter or any gaming site/forum and save their reactions to when the Ally who saw the news, tells them said news. Then you all discuss it, while also reading any new info and updates to the news being discussed. This wouldn't need to be live, you guys just react while recording and then post to YouTube later. I hope you all do more of these in the future, as it would be a way to handle big news better and faster, while they're fresh and people would love to hear what you all think about it. This also helps with new people discovering Easy Allies, as these big news start trending and people start looking for more info and other people's takes, they will find Easy Allies video discussing it. It's a win-win situation I hope continues. L & R
