We made it to August! While the shattered E3 remnant-events are mostly gone, there are still things coming up this month that are worth celebrating and reacting to. We also have several previews lined up this week, and we’re waiting on other stuff to start before we can make announcements, so stay tuned. Personally, I’m looking forward to August being a bit slower (for me) than the first part of this summer. I have some items I need to desperately cross off my to-do list, and some things in my backlog that I should probably clear before the Fall review season comes knocking.

Jones, have you guys ever thought of doing a group game club? GameXplain started recently playing a game voted on by Patrons from a list of games of the GameXplain crews’ choosing. Every week they do a live discussion and so far every game has been chapter based. They discuss a chapter or couple of chapters each week, and have the Patrons play along with them. I know you have Blood Pact which is somewhat similar to this, but it’s not a group of the Allies going in depth on a particular game. I know this is a lot of work (even for us Patrons) to dedicate so much time to a particular game every week, but it really makes everyone feel involved and gives people a chance to play games they might never touch. Anyway I know this is a monumental ask but I just thought I would suggest it, because it really seems to be working well for them.

Hey Mr. Jones! Last week, as you were going live, news was breaking for various things, such as the State of Play and Spiderman being exclusive to the PS4 version of Avengers, and this inspired me to ask: During your opening before Business Questions (so going over the Schedule and the content that was published since the last Cup), when applicable, would adding an ‘official’ “News” segment at the top letting Patrons know (for example), “Hey, Spider-man is coming to Avengers PS4 and if you want to hear more in-depth discussion on that and other topics, tune in to the coming podcast and if you have something to ask about it, be sure to submit it to Love & Respect!” This way, you continue to let us know news you see in chat, promote the L&R post, and give a fun new addition to the Cup format. Understandably, this wouldn’t be every episode, but since you do a lot of this already, I thought it would flow a little better instead of something catching your eye as your mid-sentence. Thanks as always for reading and have a wonderful rest of your day! Cheers! QUESTION: When applicable, do you think adding a “Breaking News” like segment during your opening of Cup could be beneficial for keeping the flow together, as something will catch your eye and it’ll interrupt the train of thought you’re giving? It wouldn’t be every week, and ideally it would only last a sentence or two highlighting a major story that happened over the weekend or in real time, and it gives more opportunity to promote podcast and L&R post engagement.

Hey Jones - I have an idea for a L&R game for the podcast, but in this quarantine era of podcasts im not sure how the logistics of it would work, so I thought I'd maybe ask it here to see what you think, if its possible to do or not. Essentially the game would be called the Huber factor. The idea is that I would write up vague but accurate descriptions (only 2 or 3 sentences for the sake of time) of 3 or 4 games- in which one of those games is a critically acclaimed hit, while the others are more or less flops, or swimming in 7s at best. Then I would have Huber read my descriptions of those games in his very Huber Hype fashion and give the panel the opportunity one option for a RENT and one option for a BUY for the games listed. Essentially it would just be a matter of if even Huber could make some of these games sound exciting enough, and see which Ally ends up with which game based on how hype Huber could make them sound with these generic descriptions. Ideally if it were possible, i would enjoy it if you could also get in on the fun, so if there is a way I could submit this such that you dont see the game titles yourself that would be great. But I dont know if thats possible. Either way is this a game that would be possible without you being in the actual studio right now? If i just submit the whole thing on the Patreon post would Huber be able to get the write ups himself? Just curious how this would work - i have a few ideas for some not-so-great games that I think i could write up so that Huber makes them sound great :) Let me know what you think. Thanks Jones - Keep up the great work L&R from Canada Garrett (gbzmr in chat)

Just a little clarification for my previous question about review editing. You mentioned on the Cup of Jones (the one before the last one) that Mind Control Delete script is done and review should go up tomorrow. But it went up on Sunday. That’s why I’ve got an impression that editing took a lot of time. By the way, I like your edits.

How's it going, Jones! New to submitting questions here so sorry if it's been asked before. The next-gen is upon us! Sony and Microsoft are set to launch their consoles later this year and I've been wondering if a launch group stream could happen in 2020. Similar to your Switch stream a few years ago, I would love for the allies to get together and play PS5 or Series X games on their releases. However, if we are still separated by then, what do you think is the best course of action to relish in next-gen hype? I'd love for each ally to get hands-on if they don't wish to buy day 1 but I could also see the benefit of spectating via Discord from a single ally. I know this may be a pain with all the reviews that are bound to happen at launch but I'll hope for the best. Thanks for all the work you guys have been doing during these tough times! Best wishes to Don and his family! L&R, Ivan

Hey Jones, how are you doing today? I noticed something funny. Two week ago as you went live, Crystal Dynamics announced Hawkeye for Avengers. And last week they waited for you to go live before announcing Spider-Man for Avengers. So the question is, who is getting announced for Avengers right now? Cyclops or Wolverine?

Congratulations, Don! I didn't even realize you were married! Happy Day!

Hi, Jones. I know you're very busy and put Trailer Jones on hold indefinitely. However, I just watched director Nia DaCosta's haunting and unsettling Candyman Teaser - which I can't recommend enough that everyone watch it - and it's so socially relevant to the current times and I just can't stop thinking of how much of a really big missed opportunity it was to not have a Trailer Jones on it. I put the link to Nia DaCosta's tweet with a few words and the teaser down below. I hope Trailer Jones gets back one day, moving forward there will be many works of art that will tackle the pandemic, racism or both subjects and would be a good way for the Allies to tackle some of these issues outside of a podcast. https://twitter.com/NiaDaCosta/status/1273293842113089536 Business question: What are your thoughts on possibly bringing back Trailer Jones? And possibly tackling trailers that deal with the pandemic and/or racism and the protests? L & R

Heya Jones, No, just ignore that. It's nothing. But which sports team would cause Easy Allies to sell its soul to the devil in order to defeat?

Hello Jones! Just had a quick question for you regarding Hall of Greats. I was wondering if its ever been pitched to have a community guest spot for HoG, especially now that that weird Bos-guy-whatever his name was is gone. There are obviously things to consider, such as somone who could pick, argue, and show up reliably. The last thing anyone would want is somebody with a 240p camera coming in and talking about how Sneak King is an "underrated gem." But given the age of community involvement we're in, the thought kept crossing my mind during the last HoG. Maybe set restrictions such as they must edit a video and go last, that way they wouldn't have to pop in and out continuously to deliberate, vote, etc. or maybe even make it an absurd Patreon goal ($100? $200?). Maybe the Patreon votes bracket style over the next few months and a week before the next HoG the winning game and the person who pitched it gets to have the guest spot? That's a lot of rambling, I know. And I totally wouldn't be upset if you just stared straight at the camera, shook your head no, and continued to the next question, but the dream of getting to see an Ally COUGH-or myself-COUGH share in that special HoG hype and glow is too much to prevent me from asking this asuredly foolish question. Hi Jones! What are some of your favorite non Muppet things from the Jim Henson company? Personally, I love The Dark Crystal and the Age of Resistance, and as a kid I watched Dinosaurs for hours and hours. Also, if you have early Muppets Now impressions I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

Mr. Jones, Since COJ seems to be slowing down a bit, would you consider having Amanda join or possibly previewing future editorials that you would be interested in tackling? I can foresee that having both parents away from Milo would be difficult so I don't expect much. It is always fascinating, to hear what you are passionate about outside of gaming in your editorials and hope that fewer questions could provide more room to express your interests. Respectfully, Morgan Mohalla

Hi Jones, I noticed that for me the introduction to the podcast „I am your moderator…“ still auto-completes to Kyle Bosman in my head most of the time. So I was wondering, has this been mentioned before, have you thought about changing it? Maybe to another term for moderator or „new moderator“ or something else entirely? I hope everything is well – L&R. André

For the Community Showcase, how would I be able to share a website to you all? I am making one for Hall of Greats just for practice and thought it would be fun to share regardless when it’s more in a complete state

Hey, Jones. I was watching a Bosman stream recently and noticed his amazing quality new camera and mic. It got me thinking. You guys are in this home setup for who knows how long. You'll probably be streaming from home more in the future even when you do get back to the studio. It's also been a long time since you've done a fundraiser for something that directly benefited you guys - over two years. I think now is a good time to do another fundraiser for new cameras and mics. Maybe not for everyone (unless fundraising goals keep getting reached), but start with whoever does the most streaming stuff (you would be near the top I would guess) and go from there. I think the community is ready to support you guys again to make better looking content. Let's do a little math here. You can get a great quality camera for live streaming like the Sony a5100 with a pretty good lens for $500. Look up "Best Budget Live Streaming Camera of 2020" by Live Streaming Pros on Youtube to see how it looks and why it's great for the price. Eight of those is $4,000. Great mic would be the Shure SMB7 for $400, although probably not many of you would need that, since I know at least a few of you have pretty good mics. Throw in some extra equipment you may need to get everything working right and I'm sure you could all have a great looking setup in the $10,000 range. Please think about it and consider talking with the other allies about it. L&R, Josh Read.

Hi Jones I've been rewatching some old streams from the studio and that made me want to ask about something. If one of the Allies, you or Blood seems most likely, ever went to the studio to check up on it or some other reason couldn't you just do an impromptu stream from it? I think it would be fun and also relieving for viewers to just be sort of reminded that even though you aren't producing content from it, it's still there waiting for everyone.
