Good discussion. My biggest problem with 2 was it demanded a lot from the player without offering any guidance. I was always confused about where to go next. I had missing bonfires all over the place that I only later found out were from illusory walls that you had to press a button to open instead of attacking (which I don't think was ever explained) so I spent countless hours backtracking through areas over and over again and when I finally got the King Ring and had to do it again I'd just had enough. It's still the only Souls game I haven't finished. This video is the first I've even heard of power stances after over a hundred hours in that game!

This is actually where I started in the series, and I assumed that every Souls game would be confusing in this way. Boy, was I surprised when I jumped into Bloodborne! Other Souls games are certainly convoluted at times, but DS2 has the most bizarre progression.
