It’s unfortunate that Sony updated the blog right when the podcast was posted that PS5 will play most PS4 games at launch, at least 4000+

Correction: Hellblade II was not running on the Xbox Series X when shown at The Game Awards. It was prerendered in engine footage from a PC.

Also, to clarify what Damiani was getting at, the GPU in the Xbox Series X is not a straight across upgrade over the PS5. It has a floating point operation advantage (teraflops) for pixel shading of about 17%, but that is not the only performance metric for a GPU. The PS5 runs its GPU at a much higher clock speed which means a number of those other metrics are actually faster on the PS5. This includes the geometry setup rate, on chip cache memory bandwidth and pixel fillrate, all of which are 22% faster on the PS5. In addition, our lord and savior Jason Schreier has reported that devs are telling him they prefer the PS5 APIs which may contribute to additional efficiencies. The end result is that performance comparisons are anything but clear-cut. There is a decent chance that the different advantages each platform has will ultimately be a wash. I don't think it's very likely you will even normally see resolution or frame-rate differences between the two versions of multiplatform games.

Compairing Microsoft and Sony in regards to putting out their GDC info I believe Microsoft did better by not having anyone stand on camera talking. The 2 systems are very similar.

Does anyone remember that Sony said they were skipping E3 because they needed to reveal their next gen earlier to give retailers time to order and prepare? They said waiting till E3 would be too late for the retailers to properly prepare for the holidays. So they should be revealing everything soon.

When I hear new console stats I think about Jones' comment from the last gen that "I'd take a game looking like GTA 3 of it was five times as big" but we repeatedly get games that are just as limited just shinier

Slight correction, all 360 games can run on an Xbox one. The owners of those IPs and devs work with Microsoft to optimize and the all important licensing monster needs to be signed. The increase here is Xbox One source code can be executed on Series X without the need for other software playing middleman

I tried to use the manscaped code "ALLIES" at checkout for the razor and it said "Code no found" :(
