WARNING: ALL SPOILERS ARE ON THE TABLE.  Last week, we were in the office for a full day to determine the best games of 2019. If you're just interested in the awards themselves, they'll be available to watch at 6:00 PM PT tonight.

Note, due to Patreon's file size limits, we had to split the audio into three parts. You can also watch the video in full at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnB6Qpq66jw

I just wanted to say thank you so much for putting all effort into this, I enjoyed it a lot from start to finish and really considered all your opinions to be very valuable everytime I try to purchase any game. I know exactly how exhausting a deliberation process can be, but this is the perfect payoff for all those reviews and game impressions you've made during the year, a culmination of heart and soul for this passion of playing and reviewing games. Thanks to you, I bought Sayonara Wild Hearts and beat it on night damn night just right after watching the video. Right now I'm downloading Outer Wilds and I might go back to Sekiro and Outer Worlds to end some unfinished business from secondary missions. Plus, very thankful to see Huber defending LiS2, man I'm with you, this game is emotional and touching, It's the best adventure narrative ever and one of my favs from the decade, even so, Control was my goty baby. And yes, GOTY's in the end can be subjective, but what matters is what you guys think and why you consider all those nominees. L&R

Warning: incoming long opinion post. The discussion about the last game(s) to put in the top 10 nominees and the conclusion felt meaningless. All that time to get Life is Strange 2 on the list, that only Huber played, while cutting The Outer Worlds, which more people played and enjoyed, and no one picked them for GOTY. Then, before that, Mario Maker 2, which Ian loved, was cut for Luigi's Mansion 3, which more people played, for that reason (it seemed to me). So if the bottom of the list is just for "shout outs" then all four of those games should've just been thrown on the top 10. Now that that is out of the way here is how I would improve the GOTY discussion segment. For the GOTY, like they eventually did, have each Ally say their GOTY. If there isn't a majority winner then have a debate. If more than one Ally agreed on a game have them discuss why they think it's GOTY. Then have the other Allies cross-examine their claims. That way more people can get into the conversation. Do that for each game and then take a vote. Then for the rest of the list, if you must do a top 10, take the other games that didn't win GOTY and then add a handful more. How you may ask? With the remaining slots have each Ally write down that many games they would have on the list and tally up the votes. The top number of votes get in the last slots. TLDR: Make the discussion about the GOTY take center stage, and bring out more of a debate on the games that matter in that discussion.
