It's Christmas. Everyone's gone home and the dishes are clean. And here I was looking for something chill and cozy to wind down with. Thanks and Happy Holidays!

For Animal Crossing, the island is likely going to be it, but that's not a bad thing as for the first time ever you're building up the town there from scratch! The island still experiences snowy winters and such too, so rest easy, varied climates and elevations will still be a thing. Damiani made Nook Miles sound gross, but they're just a bonus currency to buy stuff with instead of using bells or crafting. There's no microtransaction nonsense revealed yet. It is instead like the MEOW Coupons from the Welcome Amiibo update of New Leaf. When Villagers show up to your island, the animals will just "set up shop" in tents. That's the time when you can ask them to move if they landed in a spot you don't like and pick out their new spot. Here's some things Damiani didn't mention. There's new nose and mouth shapes for you to choose for your player, instead of everyone having the same ones. Although not confirmed yet, they've shown us various kinds of back accessories that heavily suggest additional storage through backpacks and fish tins and such. Arguably the biggest "new" feature of these games (technically was a thing in Happy Home Designer) is being able to place any furniture outside on your island now. This is a massive expansion to the Public Works Projects of New Leaf in essence. This is what will really make the game feel vastly different, and people will be able to highly customize the feel of their island, now both inside the houses and outside on the island itself! For the fans, they finally seemed to fix the dreaded Animal Paths, aka Grass Deterioration, by instead now introducing a dedicated Pathing Tool for constructing your own footpaths around the island instead of having to artificially make them by putting design tiles on the ground one at a time. Crafting is a new alternative for just buying everything with bells, but you can also still just buy everything with bells if that's how you prefer to play. Animal Villager clothing no longer converts to tee shirts for them all. There's much more varied clothing, and for the first time ever it all properly displays on the animals, even sheep! (which means no more scarves for Sheep) You can finally make villagers with darker skin tone shades that retain those shades permanently instead of needing to tan constantly! I'm maintaining a topic for New Horizons on the EZA forums if you want to follow along with the updates as they trickle out to stay informed on the stuff they haven't spotlit yet via Direct: https://forums.easyallies.com/topic/5404/animal-crossing-new-horizons-switch

Normally the sound cloud link is the thumbnail for the patreon post. For some reason it's the youtube thumbnail. But the SoundCloud link had a convenient download button right there in the heading. Now I have to hit the sound cloud link which opens the app. But even then, I can't even locate the download button in the app.

Liked the episode, but I had a big issue with it. Every time you discuss the power of different consoles I get incredibly frustraded, because you seem to have only minimal understanding of how the powerful a Switch "Pro" has to be in comparison to a regualr Switch to reach you feverdreams of requests for resolution and framerate. (It's especially hard to listen to, if Kyle thorws out nonsense like: "The Switches home menu is 720p") I'm no expert in this topic either, but there are great videos going into detail of the power differences between the consoles and rumored iterations. Digital Foundry does a phenomenal job discussing this in their videos explaining technical limitations and setting realistic expectations for a Switch "Pro", just by explaining how the Switch works and what other hardware would be available by Nvidia for an upgraded Switch. So my request is: Either do your do dilligence and educate yourself on the topic (not just the Switch "Pro", but console hardware power in general) or stop discussing stuff like this. Because with discussions like this you just set yourself and other less tech savy people up for disapointment, all while misinforming your adience. L&R for Germany

Do I have to get SoundCloud to download the audio version? Usually I can download it straight to Patreon but I’m now seeing that option.

i think the ultimate worry is it might feel like an expansion of pocket camp which doesn’t seem enticing.

Bravely Second did a lot to fix the structural problems of Bravely Default. There was still a time travel/multi-dimensional element to the story (you actually had to start a New Game Plus at one point to progress the plot), but they eliminated the repetition that made the first game a slog to finish.

Correction: Daminai said the Video Game Awards had almost a million viewers. On Twitter Daniel Ahmed said the VGAs had 7.5 million concurrent viewers.
