There aren’t that many scripts to write, podcasts to shoot, and games to stream before we break for the holidays, so I’ll talk a bit about what to expect from us this month as we look at our schedule. Box Peek is wrapping up, but Prison of Love is just getting started, and there are more episodes of Don’s Design Lab and Occasional Board Game Show coming up. We had to get a little creative with our calendar to accommodate things like Bosman working on The Game Awards, and several allies heading out of town to spend time with their families. Nevertheless, the show must go on!

PERSONAL QUESTIONS
DANIEL RIBEIRO - What's the score you give to both Batman (1989) and Batman Begins (2005) on a scale of 0 to 10? JONES - I’d give both movies an 8 out of 10. I think Katie Holmes is absolutely terrible in Batman Begins, which brings down the whole thing for me, because Bruce is so obsessed with her. I think Burton’s vision is very campy considering all the realistic takes we’ve been gifted since it was made, but it has some of my favorite Batman/Joker moments, fun practical special effects, a pleasing noir-aesthetic, and Danny Elfman’s score is so, so, so good. I actually dislike Burton’s take on Joker’s origin story. I don’t like the idea that Jack Napier is a scumbag before he becomes Joker. It’s as if he just puts on makeup, wears a purple suit, and starts acting silly. I don’t get the vibe that he’s struggling with his sanity, or completely unhinged. He kind-of just gets goofy. That said, I can’t wait to read your reviews of these movies! Here we go!
