I'M BACK! Things aren't going to change too much now that I'm off paternity leave, as I can't say yes to everything fun happening at EZA just yet. But I will be attending group streams and reclaiming my voting rights on the EZA podcast, and you'll see me pop up elsewhere when I can.  I come back to you at the turn of the tide, allies. Tomorrow we announced details of our Phase 4, which while not as intense as you might think, which change a few things around here, and we'll of course go into detail on Cup next week.

Hope you can talk about the last Hall of greats..

Anonymous

I asked a question about it. I think I could have worded it better, but it'll definitely be discussed

Anonymous

Good to have you back!

MaxVSTheGames

Very excited with the Phase 4 annoucement, but there are a few points I would like to discuss (Sorry for the long post!). Feel free to answer them all in one go or one after the other: 1. Top 10 Sad to see it go, but I understand that it was too complicated to coordinate and have all the allies agree on a list and didn't get the results you were hoping for. I'm just wondering if you considered making it a solo project for an ally (or a rotating cast of allies). Videos like Kyle ranking all the Spiderman costumes had tons of views! And it seems you already had a few of those (Kyle had the MK Chumps one, and you had the top 10 Rockstar games). The comments are pretty clear and everyone seem to be agree that you had found the perfect format with the latest top 10. Those videos always feel more like a personal list, which made them more interesting, as well as less controversial or debatable. Also, I assume they are much easier to do then the group ones. I'm sure that video like "Kyle's top 10 best pokemon, or top 10 useless pokemon" or "Huber's top 10 shotguns or horror games" would have had great success while being maybe easier to shoot and edit than what you had before. Another idea: Huber is always asking the other allies about their "Top 10 something" on the streams, so maybe you could have him just ask an ally about his top 10 something and have them actually come up with one. Would you consider having those easier more personal Top 10 format in the future, or are those kind of videos canceled forever? 2. Short-edited content (Achieve it yourself, Huber's prison of love) Achieve it yourself was a great success, but the one complain that came back every time on the youtube comments was that it was too short. Pretty much everyone wanted to see the whole video of the allies trying to achieve the goals, instead of cutting it down to less than 10 minutes. If I understood right, Huber's new show will be him forcing an ally to play a game, right? So, I'm not sure that cutting it down to a 10 minutes video will satisfy everyone. If Huber sits with Kyle and play Bioshock or with Ian to play Last of Us, I'm sure people will want more than 10 minutes of it. I understand the appeal of short videos (many people are requesting more of those and they usually do better on youtube). But, since it will be recorded anyway and shouldn't be too hard (no editing), did you consider releasing the unedited versions of Achieve it yourself and Huber's prison of love? Maybe make it Patreon Exclusive if you think the content is not good enough for the large public to see. I know the patreons would be happy. 3. EZA clips The most blaring omission of Phase 4 is the lack of EZA clips. I'm not sure you guys understand just how much this thing is important. Since the beginning of EZA, I think it's fair to say that many (if not most) of your patrons came from people that liked Gametrailers and wanted to follow you in this new adventure. Reviews were definitely the best way to get those people in since they would recognize the review style and Brandon's voice. Your professionalism has always been one of the top reason why you guys are one of the "best in the biz", and your reviews, podcasts and showcase coveragre will continue to bring you new people. But, I always felt that the best way to get new people to follow you (especially on your twitch stream) is to show them how funny you guys are. And there's no better way to do that than with EZA clips. It's also VERY important for your current patrons. Most of them (me included), as much as we want, simply cannot watch all of your streams. And we always feel a bit left out when we missed a joke and cannot understand the new memes in the community. EZA clips was the best way to make sure that we never missed anything hilarious and could feel apart of the community even if we missed the origin of the new meme. Right now, you are very lucky that some people are putting the time to make videos of your funniest moments. This is maybe your best marketing ads currently, and I don't think it should be done by someone else. At first, EZA clips was canned because Damiani said he didn't have the time to work on it anymore. But now that Game Sleuth was canceled, maybe it's time to revive it. This is too important, in my opinion, to be simply tossed aside. ---------- Sorry for the long post. As I said, I'm really excited for Phase 4, but I just wanted to address those little remaining concerns. Thanks! PS: I also agree that Cup of Jones should probably only be about business questions and the editorial and that having the personal questions in written form only is a good move.

Anonymous

(Is-uh-gear-ee) Quick question, Jones. I was wondering if any consideration has been given to doing a monthly highlights video for Youtube that is composed of clips from the EZA Twitch streams. It seems like a great way to advertise your twitch channel on Youtube in digestible bits. Something like a "July 2019 Highlights" could showcase some of the more tense/funny moments caught on stream and you could even use clips made by patrons to cut back on editing time. Thanks!

Hey Jones What are your thoughts on the Glinny's Cauldron games?

Definitely happy to have you back Jones!!

Welcome back! I just would like to re post something re:hall of greats and gaming community and see how you feel about it. Sometime I feel like I completely missed how serious people can take 'games'. I guess it should not be a surprise considering how quick to arms the gaming community is on any perceived transgression. Maybe it is a byproduct of individuals attaching personal identity to fandom? I thought it was entertaining, and gamesmanship of the actual Hall of Greats. Just like gamesmanship in trying to win a bet in a special. I feel this way about everything done at eza. Couple of guys and sometimes gals enjoying a hobby with friends. Am I missing something? I just want to vocalize, I think that there seem to be some waaaaay too serious , and that worries me?!

Anonymous

Hi, Jones. Welcome back. I only have one very simple thing to ask of you this week. If you haven't, can you please hold on from watching the latest episode of Frame Trap, "Episode 87: A School of Swords And Sorcery", and watch this little segment for the first time live during Cup of Jones while having the video in a second screen or just the audio - it's only 1:32 in duration? I promise you it's nothing horrible, it's just something extremely funny that I would love to get your first reaction off of it. Below is the segment with a timestamp, but please don't watch it yet, save it for Cup of Jones if you can indulge me on this little tiddy bit. I promise it's worth it. And yes, this is one of the reasons why I love Easy Allies and specially the Allies so much. 2:07:40-2:09:12 https://youtu.be/LMXo0RjRKaY?t=7660 L & R

Brandon K Gann

Hey Mr. Jones! Apologies if you've answered this in the past, but what determines if a game will be reviewed from EZA? I know Allies will try to say ahead of time if they want to review it, but I finished Wolfenstein: Youngblood recently and while I've enjoyed the conversations on Frame Trap, I was curious as to why this didn't get selected for a review. Is this a poor example because of the timing of Easy Livin, or being too busy? Regardless, as always thank you for reading my question and have a wonderful rest of your day! Cheers!

EasyAllies

Yeah, Youngblood fell into a weird nexus of timing including Easy Livin', Phase 4 planning, and some other projects Ben is working on. That's one reason I don't message when a review is in the works until I have a script, because often we'll go in thinking we're going to review a game, and then for any number of reasons decide that it would be best to just cover it a different way. -Bloodworth

Thanks for all your responses Jones. Really excited (slightly nervous) about Phase 4 and you coming back into the fold. The health of you Amanda and Milo is such an amazingly wonderful thing and I see nothing but jolly times for the Jones Troope family in our future. This episode was a great length and very considerate still. Really nice return to form. As far as HOG is concerned, I really don't feel it addressed my main problem, although you definitely made an excellent attempt. Making me the the base for the editorial is something I truly appreciate. My problem is that HOG is just something I cannot tell anymore if the 9 allies are sincere about. There is nothing going forward reinforcing any integrity of the show or the games brought. Just mostly on the spot made up rules that suite the candidates whenever convenient. With presentations like that, and plenty others in the past by other allies, I don't see how you can ask us to not take this as a joke. Maybe I will watch it as a bit in the future, but I could care less about the results because I get enough RNG in the games I play. I have no question, just dissapointed in that aspect of the allies. Hopefully tomorrow will just make me forget all this nonsense and look forward to the good times. Thanks again for everything in this episode and in general Jones. As always. LnR4L ~Heidern98

Hi Jones, I just want to say regarding Personal Questions... I feel that because in the Patreon you only state that you answer questions, you don't say you'll answer EVERYONE's question. That being said, new patrons will want to feel included so I guess for me, the preferred option would be setting up a Q&A for questions that are asked A LOT and have personal questions answered in text. I like the idea of keeping CoJ primarily about business. Thanks for asking L&R

Anonymous

Hey, Jones! I'll speak honestly, I mostly tune in for the personal questions. I think it's always a fun opportunity to get to know you better, to get you to react to more stuff and open up interesting or funny discussions. I also like having stuff playing in the background nonstop. A long CoJ is not an issue for me, quite the opposite. However, I think there are opportunities for those discussions and conversations to happen elsewhere at Easy Allies. So I do support you prioritizing business questions as well as a shorter run time, if that gets more people to tune in more often.

Anonymous

I'm okay with dropping personal questions from the video portion of Cup of Jones. I started skipping them a long time ago simply because there was so much repetition in the questions.

Anonymous

I usually bail after business questions. So I would prefer business questions + editorial, personal questions in text.

Anonymous

No feed back needed, just my 2 cents re:personal questions since you asked in the show. Maybe you could just pick one personal question you really like similar to how the podcast does for L&R and answer the rest in text?

BeardedScotsman86

If you do decide to keep personal questions in Cup, then I would prefer Business then editorial, and then personal. As much as it is nice for people to ask question, I have no interest in some of the topics and feel I am sitting through irrelevant parts just to get to the editorial.

Anonymous

Another vote for a business-only CoJ, please! The tighter the show, the easier it is to stay informed on all the latest updates.

Anonymous

I agree with what most other people have said in regards to leaving out personal questions so I'm going to add a different angle on it. A petty one perhaps but a different one all the same. I feel the personal questions can sometimes remove value from the 20 dollar Q&A tier, especially since that tier is limited in number of words allowed in the question but also there's no guarantee of your question being answered. I can remember more than one occasion when someone has asked you "what does Kyle think about this?" or "did Huber like that?". Why spend 20 dollars on the Q&A tier when one can ask it here for a single buck? (I realize it's not exactly the same thing, was just making an exaggerated example.)

Anonymous

I definitely support having the personal questions be text only. It would be nice if CoJ stayed around the 1-1.5 hour mark instead of the 2-3 hour ones we got sometimes.

Robert I.

Howdy, while I love Personal Questions on Cup of Jones, I do think it has gotten wildly out of hand. I'm guilty myself of coming up with questions just to get you to talk and I imagine many others don't desperately need to know something about you. If they got moved out of the show proper, I'm ok with that and would vote in favor of doing that. I liked your idea of answering in text, or if it was a big enough question, you would still keep the option of answering the question in the CoJ episode.

Anonymous

I think this past HOG was just a fluke. There has been a lot going on for the Easy Allies, as a whole and individually, and only 7 of the Allies were present. This was the first time HOG had major issues between the Allies and some poor choices, but honestly I feel like Bioshock arguement wasn't bad. I just wish Damiani and Bosman were able to explain their side better with more time. HOG has been one of the best things from Easy Allies, in my opinion. I really think the problems this past time was situational.

Anonymous

I totally agree, and I myself am quite guilty about personal questions. Other questions are more important typically.

Anonymous

I prefer the short version of the Cup of Jones. 1-1.5 hours is quite nice.

Anonymous

Hi Jones. For a while, the downloadable audio link was showing up when you did the audio post. This week I only see the embedded Patreon audio player. For next week, could you go back to having it downloadable as well please?

Cathal Fallon

I think it's an issue with the Patreon website at the moment. Another group I support on Patreon doesn't have their download links up at the moment.

Alexander Zyryanov

Feedback for Cup of Jones: If your time allows it, I would prefer all questions to be answered in video form. Also I have no problem with long Cup of Jones episodes. In fact, I enjoy your elaborate and thoughtful responses even to the simplest questions. Feedback for Phase 4: I know you asked us for a feedback but there are so many changes, that I don’t see the full picture yet and therefore I can’t really say if this is good or bad for me personally. Ask us about this again near the end of the year. I definitely noted that you are making Easy Allies feel more like a job for yourself (you now have to go to the studio multiple times a week for various group streams and you shooting podcast on another day), but since it’s your call I guess you like it. Question: Are you done with Dreams or do you plan to return to it one day?

Anonymous

I listen to Cup of Jones only for the business questions. It is nice to have this show for handling this kind of questions. Combining this with personal questions feels weird and makes the episodes to long. I feel the personal questions are better handled in the Q&A.

Anonymous

Wait, is Cup Of Jones not available in text only anymore? :/ I rarely have time to watch the show and i really appricated the text-form. But i understand if it takes alot of time.

Anonymous

Don't make me a do a supercut of all the times you said "weird" Jones

Anonymous

I prefer a business focused COJ. I usually skip the personal questions.

Anonymous

Echoing other comments, I only listen to business questions. If you're going to still do personal questions, if you could do the editorial before them that'd be great!

Anonymous

Personally I miss the Jones streams and think that could be a potential avenue for casually answering personal questions outside of Cup of Jones, as long as the chat didn't become nothing but a nonstop spam of them and Jones didn't enter The Jones Zone™ where he ignored chat for 30+ minutes straight. I'm sure it is tougher to answer questions while playing a game, but still wanted to make the suggestion in case CoJ ditches them. Overall, I'm on the side of making Cup of Jones breezier than it has been, and that FAQ idea has always seemed like a good step towards that.

Anonymous

You've said many times that you like, or at least are not opposed to "selling out." I've always taken it as kind of a playful statement in context, but you've said it enough times at this point where I'm not sure where you draw the line between making deals and actually "selling out." The phrase "selling out" to me has always had a very negative connotation, implying that the change in the product/content is a negative one that hurts the consumer/viewer's experience in exchange for the creator making more money. So would you please go a bit deeper into what you believe "selling out" is in a non-playful and sarcastic manner so that we can get a clearer picture as to where you feel that line is between doing something for money vs hurting your content/brand/product in the process?

Anonymous

I don't mind the longer episodes, and I enjoy hearing the personal questions as well as the business ones. Anything that needs trimming is understandable, but I'm happy with the deluxe cup :)

Anonymous

Not a question i guess, but on the patreon mobile app you can't see the financial goals beyond the next one anymore (at least on android). I think you used to have the goals in the 'About' text, but have removed them from there. So as a mobile user, i can't see what your stretch goals are! Panic!

Anonymous

I don't expect or want you to bring it up on the episode, just wanted to let you know

Anonymous

On the audio versions of the posts, even the all in one posts, there use to be an MP3 link that you could click and download the audio version. I can't find that on any post now. So I can't easily download the audio version at home and listen on the go. (I'd rather not use a ton of my data listening to the audio version). So do you know how I can download the audio version of podcasts now that the MP3 link is gone? Or better yet, add the MP3 link back so I don't have to jump through 7 hoops to listen to the audio without using data.

Anonymous

Now that the announcements have been made - just a question! Have you considered posting the unedited Huber’s Prison of Love as a Patreon exclusive?

M I K E Y M O

Hey Jones. Long time patron, first time writer: I think your Phase 4 stream was awesome. It was bittersweet to say goodbye to the old GameTrailers shows, especially quality content like "Game Sleuth" as well as my investment in "Tabletop Escapades" but I completely understand and am very excited about the new direction and new shows. One thought I had while watching your stream was how my response to your survey was quite different from the approach EZA decided to go. EZA took me from not even understanding why anybody would watch somebody else play video games to 'getting' why streams are enjoyable. My responses were more in-line with requesting professionally edited and concisely written content. I personally prefer edited content to live streams, but I've learned to appreciate live streams. My question is: what were some outlier or standout responses you saw in your survey. Things you looked at, understood, but they weren't popular? Anything else that stood out to you? Thank you Jones and EZA. I appreciate you and have been a happy fan since you started. I think you're making great decisions and I look forward to your future.

Anonymous

Apparently it's a Patreon decision. They want to force people to use their app.

Anonymous

The new changes look great and I understand the reasons behind all of them. I'd like to ask a question related to the decision making process behind moving the podcast day though. I personally only listen to the podcast while commuting to/from work on the train. Judging by the statistics I found online which suggest most podcast listening is done on weekdays and a large proportion in cars or public transport I don't think I'm alone in this use-case. I'm anticipating that here in the UK, "releasing Friday" means "releasing Friday evening" after most people have already finished commuting for the week. I'm happy that I'll have something to brighten up my Monday mornings, but I also note that this effectively removes the podcast as any sort of incentive to remain a patron as it will be publicly available by then anyway. Is this something you considered when the decision was made and how did you weigh the various pros/cons of moving the day?

Anonymous

Hey, Jones. I'm a big fan of the changes made to the company. For the first time, the output feels like "Easy Allies," and not, "The Guys That Used to Work at Gametrailers." My question is: with the removal of goals, what is EZA doing specifically to bolster Patreon funding, ensuring that the numbers need to continually go up despite no "look forward to this" incentive? Without goals, all people will pledge for is the tier rewards, and those were not changed in any significant way.

Skankman

Hey Jones. Has there been any talk of the schedule of Frame Trap or Friend Code changing to compensate for the EZA Podcast moving? It feels a little compressed at the moment with Early Access for that being Friday, with Frame Trap/Friend Code coming the day after. Same for the non early-access too. Seems like I won't have a podcast in the week to help work fly by a bit more! EDIT: Seen Damiani has now asked for feedback about Friend Code, so this may resolve some of this if there is enough feedback there, but still interested about Frame Trap

Anonymous

I'd personally miss the personal questions, however I think keeping things business focused would 100% make it more approachable to new patreons. Maybe you could do that but then also once a month do a Cup of Jones: Personal Edition (and hard limit it to one question per person to ensure it doesn't just become a massive backlog of questions each month)? Personally the text answers aren't as preferable, but maybe that's just me.

strawhatninja

Jones I really like the focus on streaming that you guys are doing in phase 4. I think it helps us feel closer to the allies and gives the allies excuses to play even more games. My question is will the streams all be one offs or can we expect full playthroughs?

Anonymous

The text format was only intended to be a short term solution while Jones was on leave. Although personal questions may, or may not (he asked for feedback in this video) be moving to text only for future episodes.

Anonymous

Not sure what device you're listening on but if you're able to get a podcast app on it you can input the rss link on the overview page and download the podcasts for offline use that way or through the patreon app, if you're using a phone.

Anonymous

Hey Jones, I haven’t asked a question in quite some time but Phase 4 made me wonder—do you ever worry about appealing to the new, perhaps younger audience at the cost of your long-time audience that grew up with you guys? To be clear, you guys should do what you want and we as fans should mostly take what we like and leave the rest but I was surprised at how different the new direction was from my survey. The responses that I’ve seen like mine all seem to be based in the fact that we work more, have more responsibilities, and just less time over all to watch streams. Maybe it’s because we didn’t grow up with streaming or the time zones or the lack of focus (half of the allies talking about the game the other half something else). I’ve always like you guys talking about games not necessarily playing them. Just curious, as someone who once listened to 12 hours of GT time on a flight. And here’s to hoping for more spoiler modes

Joseph La Russa

Hey Jones, I don't like having to write this post, but when you lower your tier on Patreon there's no survey, only when you leave altogether, so this is my solution. I dropped down from the $7 to the $5 tier as a response to your Phase 4 plans. I was excited to hear about the plans, but the end result was, personally, a massive disappointment. The added focus on streaming, which I care about less than anything, was disappointing. The end of Huber Syndrome was sad. But Tabletop (in it's prior format) ending and Top Tens going away was what broke it for me. I don't exactly have any questions beyond asking what your thoughts on this is? I feel it's my obligation to tell you these things as a patron, that's all. Love and Respect.

Anonymous

Hey Jones, with goals gone, what does it mean for the GT Live-esque weekly guest show?

Anonymous

Hey, Jones. The announcement of “the stream team” confused me. From an outside perspective, this decision feels much like when you reintroduced Top 10s, in that it was not being done because you guys were excited about it, but rather just because it was something many had asked for. If I recall correctly, you guys stopped doing the group stream selection committee due to it leading to a lack of interest in the games being picked, which in turn lead to less enjoyable streams for you guys. Given we’ve just seen the recent cancellation of Top 10s, I’m curious what is it about the new format for the stream team that leads you to believe that history will not repeat itself in this instance? L&R Feedback: I’m fine with moving personal question to text, as I feel the original purpose of the show was to provide updates, and address the concerns of patrons. It might also be worth considering answering commonly asked questions in text form too.

Anonymous

Jones, I like when you're on Fiasconauts. You're a good improviser.

Anonymous

Now whilst I will not be dropping my Patreon pledge, I absolutely agree with you. Seems like the channel is becoming more focused on streaming. But the argument to be made is that it's what the community wants. The Patreon poll probably told them this. Hopefully the board game show fills that Tabletop gap.

EasyAllies

For me, one of the problems with the old group stream selection committee wasn't that we didn't want to play what was chosen so much as the fact that there were other games we wanted to play together that we were missing out on. Since the tier had charge of the only times we were getting the whole team together, it was a bummer for those nights to be somewhat out of our control. So having the stream team be a completely separate endeavor makes a big difference. The other big thing is about the logistics of it all. Having the ideas submitted via Patreon comments that could suddenly disappear, people trying to sift through for likes, etc. was all overwhelming. Now that we're a little more savvy with Google Forms, I think we can craft a process that's less painful for everyone. So yeah in general, we just took a step back and decided that with a few tweaks, this idea could still work. And I think multiple people came to the same conclusion before we even talked to each other. -Bloodworth

Anonymous

Please be careful if you intend to editorialise questions further than you already do. You once snipped one of mine in a way that changed the context to something negative and I've been relatively question shy since.

Anonymous

Heya Jones, So...no puppets, then? :( Anyway, I think the changes look pretty good and the enthusiasm I saw from the Allies would have sold me anyway. It's interesting that there seems to be an underlying theme of moving away from stuff that you did because you did it at GT towards finding what works for EZA. I understand that it's difficult for people who see EZA primarily as an extension of GT but after 3 1/2 years, I think this kind of evolution is healthy. I'm looking forward to seeing how things turn out. ps - Seconding the comment that we love you on Fiasconauts so please don't pull back on that too much.

Anonymous

Hey Jones, have you ever heard of Rhapsody - A musical adventure for the ps1? To this day its the only game I've seen that's a video game musical.

Anonymous

I genuinely bring this up all the time lol I have tweeted it definitely to Kyle and Ian

Anonymous

Comment got eaten :( I would prefer that the personal questions be in answered in video. However, if you feel in the slightest that you could be spending that time elsewhere, or it becomes something you don’t want to do anymore I would support dropping it. I think maybe picking some personal questions that you find of interest might strike a good balance. The FAQ idea is great and will hopefully allow newcomers to learn things without having to ask. My question was regarding the new Trailer Jones format. If I understand correctly it will be VO on top of the trailer being discussed? If so, are you concerned about any potential copyright strikes that may come from this new format? What would you do if one of the videos did get claimed?

Anonymous

Hey Jones, Now that you've returned from paternity leave, I wanted to ask, in a sort of a mini-Trailer Jones review, what were your thoughts on the movie trailer for Cats? I don't know if this question has already been asked because I didn't read the long Q&A posts that were posted while you were on leave, so I figured I ask this when you got back to a doing a regular YT video. All the best. I'm excited for Phase 4, Karl

Anonymous

Mr. Jones, The Witness came up on Frametrap and it made me recall that it was one of my greatest gaming regrets. I began playing and hit a wall I could not overcome, I ended up looking up the puzzle solutions and finished the main game but couldn't obtain the platinum trophy. There is a section that randomized the puzzles and imposed a strict time limit. I couldn't make any progress but I couldn't stop trying either. After a month of practice and revisiting puzzels to get better I finally passed this section and got the platinum. I never felt so hollow for missing out on the rest of the game and to this day it is the biggest regret in gaming I have. What is your greatest gaming regret?

Anonymous

Hi Jones, I enjoyed your feedback last week on the most recent HOG, but I do want to mention something about the new voting process. I dont mind the new paper method, but the allies not being able to talk about the games they are voting for seems to defeat the purpose of the confession cam. It wasn't as entertaining, and Kyle and Huber broke the rule anyways. Would you consider letting the allies talk about what games they're voting for, but not how many points they're giving each one? Or only say how many points they're giving one of their three picks? This will let them talk about why they're voting for a particular game without revealing the results to chat. As Kyle says about a lot of HOG stuff, focus on the good, not the negative. L&R

Anonymous

Apologies, but I posted this question before I had watched the entire Phase 4 Announcement video. With that in mind, I will post a new question. With the new changes incoming, does that mean that a new overview video will be made for the Patreon? It would be a good idea to have the video show a mixture of old content and what's to come.

Anonymous

Hey Jones! I've just finished watching the Easy Allies Solocast and I genuinely think that EZA could benefit from a Bosman solo news show once a week in between podcast releases. I'm not necessarily asking for an hour long podcast on top of the regular Easy Allies podcast, but for a smaller 20-30 minute deep dive by Kyle on a news topic from the week, or bite sized covering multiple topics if it's a heavy news week. Hearing him go in depth about Insomniac's history and what that means for the purchase by Sony was really enjoyable!! I think it would be a nice way to keep up with news that gets released after the podcast is recorded and before the next episode, opens up the podcast to more in depth discussion on more topics instead of squeezing a bunch of news in all at once and have the coverage still be relevant and timely to the zeitgeist. Kyle is great and can run a show on his own comfortably, and enjoyably. I thoroughly enjoyed the solocast episode and would love to see more content like it from EZA! L&R Sarah

Kirbu

Boiling down to a single question out of all the Phase 4 news is super hard, so I'll go with what I'm most passionate about. My biggest disappointment was not seeing any new podcast or exciting change to the existing podcasts. A lot of the shows and streams and their respective schedules seem designed to be much accommodating to the allies' interests and availability. By comparison, the current slate of podcasts have fairly rigid structures and topics. A shorter, open-ended discussion show on any of the myriad of hyper-specific passions you and the allies have has always been my dream Easy Allies production that few others could honestly replicate. With how often talk of shotguns, composers, Super Nintendo sprites and any other tangents bubble up in other shows, this has always seemed to me as ripe for potential. Your own top 10 Rockstar games got me imagining how amusing just a panel merely reacting to your personal ranking could be. Anyway, despite not being as excited—or having the time—for the bigger push on more frequent livestreams, I'm still happy with how Phase 4 looks overall. All in on The Occasional Board Game Show! L&R, Kirbu

Yui

This could easily be way too late, so I'll report in the next one if it is. I noticed that Easy Allies has almost all bet related content except for the podcast. I don't remember Allies making bets recently, or at least not often and other than E3 we don't seem to get betting specials anymore. A lot of the fun of the times back at GT and early EZA were bets related, and I just hope that this kind of thing can make a return within phase 4 somewhere. My suspicion is that it was mostly coming from one or a couple of Allies, and they have lost interest. Is there anything you can tell us regarding this topic?
