*Note: I read a few complaints about receiving too many emails for each post, which I can closely relate to, so we're trying something different this week. If you're a regular video watcher and hate this change, let me hear it in the comments.

Love the change to 1 post. I usually get 2 notifications for the patron posts and 2 email notifications so this definitely helps.

As a video watcher I have no problem with the change as the YouTube link is still right there to click in the email, and I appreciate not having the extra email to delete and notifications to dismiss on mobile.

I prefer the youtube link instead of the player as I have to click it twice to reach the video on actual youtube. Just need everyone to get used to this

This is actually a great change! I track all my podcasts via Overcast, but always watch the video of the podcast week to week. Having the link to the video in the description is great because it immediately redirects to the youtube app. Thank you so much for doing this!

As someone that never watches via embedded videos, I much prefer being able to get to the youtube video from the email than having to go to the patreon post and *then* being able to get to the video.

Seriously whatever you can do to reduce emails. If you could create a thing where i dont get emails for shows i dont watch (i know thats rude but i dont care about emails for fiasconauts or things) plus podcasts in general just auto-update on my phone so really emails in general are way too much.

I like with the new one post. On another note... The switch is NOT a home console. It is a handheld with video/audio output. It might be considered home console if the base/stand had processing power that couldn't be used in handheld. Also the fact the hardware is a mobile chipset.

I watch the video version and I prefer it this way as it's a bit annoying getting two emails each time, plus I just click the link usually anyway.

If you do continue this can you please embed the video in the posts? The way this post is formatted forces me to watch the podcast through my browser instead of my YouTube app. This just adds more work for me to view it.

The way Patreon works, they actually can't. The only embedded thing can be the audio to make it appear on podcast feeds. The link opened in YouTube for me. Are you on iOS by chance? Just because I'm on Android and that's the behaviour there

If it helps you guys, this change doesn't inconvenience me at all, especially if it also helps other community members. What does inconvenience me is trying to find a gaming podcast that doesnt have a sports bet that none of the contestants have any knowledge on, aside from the podcast host who obviously made this question out of personal interest. Realistically what can I truly expect from a podcast that puts the most important game of the century 2nd in its desire index. Thanks for all that integrity, Bossman! Great sode, missing Jones. Confusing Clarification: Technically, the Let's Go games are the first console mainline Pokemon games. Even though they're weird and feature trimmed, GameFreak is on record stating they're considered mainline in multiple instances, because their gameplay is still similar to the games we're used to instead of closer to spinoffs. A term they've started to use to explain the games we're used to versus the Let's Go branch is core. The games weren't used to are core Pokemon games. Let's Go are not core Pokemon games, but they are still mainline Pokemon games, as in not spinoffs. https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/8n9atm/clarification_the_lets_go_titles_are_mainline/ Actual Correction: Damiani said only Pokemon with "Galar versions" (Forms) from past games can be transferred into Sword and Shield, which isn't true. Any Pokemon species that appears in the Galar Regional Dex can be transferred from past games into Sword and Shield, whether or not that Pokemon has a new Form exclusive to the Galar Region.

I prefer an option with the video embedded because it's quicker to add to my watch later list which allow me to watch unlisted videos on Roku and other YouTube apps.

Man.. So I got in this huge back and forth with this guy over the Pokemon stuff. And His PALS jumped in (this was twitter). When I was like "Well just don't buy it!" he was like "Oh I haven't played Pokemon since... GBA". (His friend said the same thing!) At that moment I realized.. yes, there are probably people who are very legitimately upset, but I'd bet a million dollars huge chunks of these 'angry pokemon fans' are really just part of the internet hate mob that look for the next thing to get hot about (even if it doesn't impact them).

Correction Belgium uses the euro and not the shlang, also as a long time fan and patreon from Belgium I did not really enjoy this bit, in fact most bits where Kyle uses other countries often come off as condescending and not funny imh, love most of your other stuff and keep making great content

Am I the only one bothered by Kyle renaming simple progression system into "free battlepass"? Is there something that makes it different from the progression systems from games 2, 3, 5, 10 years ago? When did we come to that point where this terms are interchangeable?

Less emails is very welcome from me. As long as the link is posted in the original email, that is great. I open the link from the email and skip patreon completely. The times when the link is missing is more annoying.

Audio levels are AWFUL again this week. Damian is crazy loud, and yet I’ve got to turn my volume up to hear Kyle/Ian. This has not been an issue until recently can we pleeeeaasse work on the audio levels

CORRECTION: Damiani said it was a misconception that the wii sold best in its gen and that the 360 sold best. This is incorrect (and ian stated in the cast that wii was the 5th best selling overall) Wii has sold 101.63 million, PS3 sold 88 million and in last place is the 360 with 85 million.

Hi Kyle, If you're interested, before the euro (which Brad and Blood were right about, it's the current currency) Belgium used the Franc, which was also the same name as the currency in France and Switzerland. Their value wasn't the same, they just shared the name like the US, Canada, New Zealand and Australia use dollars. Belgium and France, along with a large portion of the EU, switched to euros in 2001/2002.

I thought Ian handled the very difficult L&R question beautifully. The issue isn’t that sexualization is present; it’s when it’s exploitative. Very mature, reasoned take.

Damiani's initial response of criticizing the Fire Emblem L&R question was a poor direction to take the discussion, but thankfully Ian saved it. This question and discussion really highlighted to me how not diverse the Allies are. The fact that there will never be an opportunity for a woman to provide input on topics like this makes me sad. I listen to Kotaku Splitscreen because it's the only place I know of to get a non-male perspective (i.e. Maddy Myers) on video games and their tangential life topics. I have always appreciated and related to Ian's takes on subjects like this, but he can't be the only source of diverse perspectives. I think it's time the Allies diversify their cast with women and/or non-cis gender people. Make diversity the next Patreon goal and I will proudly up my pledge from $5 to $15. I'm sure others would as well.

How about letting the Easy Allies be who they want to be instead of forcing these silly diversity issues? If you want to hear a female perspective just go watch another channel. Why can't they be just a bunch of dudes talking about games? Don't get me wrong, i would be pretty excited if they added a woman to the cast IF they choose her because of what she can contribute to EZA and not just because she's a woman. What's next? add an african dude just because cyberpunk is coming out and someone would like to hear an opinion coming from an african american? How about adding a japanese just because they do anime stuff? By continuing with this logic you'd only see that every group of people had to be represented equally which is impossible. Also don't you think it's kind of insulting(for her) to hire a woman just for the sake of getting a new perspective on a topic that is rarely brought up? The Easy Allies are a group of individuals not a group representing groups of people.

Hey Allies (and allies). I thought I'd share this Joy-con drift experience with the community. I had been experiencing intermittent drift on one of my left joy-cons. After seeing the articles on the leaked memo last week, I decided I'd send it in. (I have done controller repairs before, but I figure the more of these Nintendo gets, the more likely a proper re-design permanent fix will be.) I'm in Canada, so Amercian experiences may be difficult. I contracted Nintendo via their repair form on Wed July 24th, had an email reply back from them on the 25th directing me to send it to them via Purolater air freight on their account. I dropped it off with Purolator on July 26th. It was delivered to their Vancouver office on Monday July 29th. I received confirmation that it was repaired on July 31st, and had it back in my hands today, August 2nd. This is pretty close the experience I've had with two previous repairs. The same joy-con was purchased used and had the plastic nub on it won down so it wouldn't lock in place. The original buyer had proof of purchase though, so it was under warranty. I had also shipped my original left joy-con in shortly after the Switch launch due to the known issue with its wireless connection to the console. All in all, I'm pretty pleased. As Kyle points out, it isn't a permanent fix unless they redesign the joy-con or at least the analog stick assembly, but in the meantime this isn't too bad.

I’m someone whose thirsty lizard brain is delighted by Manuela and Dorothea, so the additional perspectives were nice ones to hear and I agree with the points you made. L&R.

Bit late to the party on this one but "pornographic sensibilities" would probably be a more apt description. The UK's flagship film critic uses that description for things like Micheal Bay's directing style.
