Ben straight up overstating the fighting game community’s importance to the success of smash bros.

Cool seeing some love for Void Bastards. It will surely be among my top games this year, loved the loop, the sound and graphic style, and the writing in general is so damn funny. As for the Japan Vs West, I agree much more with Ben. As an example, I was much more of a PC/Amiga gamer growing up, I always had consoles too but they were not my main thing, when FFVII was released I bought it first day and was in shock because some aspects seemed just too terrible. Why on hell was I being constantly being pulled to combat by enemies I couldn't see? And some environments were so terribly designed that I couldn't see where the path was. I've played it through the end but much of it just felt mediocre or even bad. I'm not saying it's not good, I've replayed it recently and I managed to enjoyed it, but coming from a PC culture, at the time much of it was just absurd.
