I think it's a tiny bit frustrating that you guys not only haven't played detective pikachu but haven't bothered to do more research about it if you're going to talk about it like this. While the scenario for the movie was almost identical to the game, the plot was extremely different. If you jump from the movie to the sequel without at least reading an in depth summary you will be confused and very disappointed imo.
