Yeah Boi.

Anonymous

Oh Baby! Been waiting for this

Anonymous

I know you guys get comments like these on every spoiler mode, but you should really consider making this one public, considering how monumentally huge endgame is at the moment.

Anonymous

Love hearing you guys discuss movies. Don't love the hate for Guardians of the Galaxy 2. All and all though, you guys are great. Thanks for doing what you do.

IAN IS BACK

2 hours! Why not as long as Endgame? :P

For some more info on Cap through time, here's an excerpt from an interview with Joe Russo: Q: EG's plot, is it a parallel universe or a closed time loop? A: Nope, not a time loop. Both Ancient One and Hulk were right. You can't change the future by simply going back to the past. But it's possible to create a different alternate future. It's not a butterfly effect. Every decision you made in the past could potentially create a new timeline. For example, the old Cap at the end movie, he lived his married life in a different universe from the main one. He had to make another jump back to the main universe at the end to give the shield to Sam.

I love the way you guys handle these conversations. You go in with an opinion, but you express it almost in hope that the things that are wrong are actually just wrong in your head and have a perfectly reasonable explanation. It's a hopeful attitude, and it's refreshing. Thank you.

THEORY: What if, when Cap jumped back to replace the Power Stone, he jumped back just in time to save Nebula and keep Thanos from discovering what was going on? Does that fix things are make them more complicated lol

Loved the spoiler mode but I'll have to disagree about Captain Marvel, that character has the personality of a block of wood.

EasyAllies

We literally saw that after we finished recording. Glad they confirmed how the time travel works, and happy it's the answer I believed after seeing the film. Good to be right about one thing! - Damiani

Great conversation, I love hearing you all wrangling over the writing, plot and payoffs. I need to see it again as it wasn’t the film I was expecting and want to go back in with a different mindset. I agree with Brandon though, I feel they leaned a little too heavily on humour with Hulk and especially Thor and found it quite jarring. Captain Marvel is the only film I haven’t seen and I guess I need to, to understand why she wasn’t around to fight Thanos in Infinity War?

Thank you guys for this, it was really enjoyable to live through the movie again like this. Here's hoping we'll see She-Hulk some day!

Question: Is it possible that the soul stone only holds one soul at a time. So a soul for a soul means that one soul replaces the previous one so that even though the previous person is dead, having given their life, if their soul is replaced they can be brought back from death if the means (i.e. time travel) are available?

Anonymous

Woah. You guys brought up that for the wakanda soldiers that were snapped it must have just seemed like the same battle happening. That made me think about what would happen to someone who was on a plane/elevator/boat and was snapped? Did the airplane passengers just appear in mid air? Crazy.

Man, guardians of the galaxy 2 is actually super good, Ian should consider a rewatch. For me the second viewing really turned me around in a way no movie has ever really.

Anonymous

End Game is one of those movies that is both really good and really bad at the same time.

Anonymous

Yeah, that movie is really special. It's a shame to hear it dismissed so definitively.

Anonymous

great ending

Anonymous

Poor Huber, you can see he just loved this movie so much and the other guys are just ripping on it.

Just an FYI, I think Ian may have got the whole earthquakes around the universe thing from the RLM review, but they were wrong about that aspect of the film. The scene was actually pretty simple, Black Widow is looking for anything to divert her attention so tries to make something out of an earthquake. She got told, it's literally a normal earthquake, there's nothing more about it. Then she asks Captain Marvel if she is going to come back to earth any time soon. And she says what is happening on Earth, in terms of devastation from the snap, is happening on thousands of other planets. And they don't have the Avengers or anybody to help them. I still don't get how they managed to miss the point of that scene by a mile. That's all that was. There weren't any intergalactic earthquake events.

Hey Allies! Love Spoiler Mode, happy to have it as a patreon exclusive. The deep dives into events like this are wonderful to hear. That being said, I have a critique about how you all handle these, specifically with movie episodes. I think you should try to go through the movie scene by scene chronologically, to the best of your memory. I know that coming fresh off the movie you really want to talk about what you really liked or what bothered you, but as an audience member for this show, it would be easier to keep track of your thoughts if it were in sequence with the events of the flick. I cant speak for others, but it would help me keep track of how things worked or didn't for you, rather then just if they did or did not work. Again, appreciate all your opinions and so happy that you guys shot a two hour video for this event, but some consistency in narrative would have given us a better understanding of your journey through the movie. As always, thanks for all that you do. L&R

Would've been nice to know not to ask questions about speculation. I didn't see that mentioned in the Q&A post.

Anonymous

Can anyone tell me why Tony Stark had a holo-table, an active house AI and a garage where he could build a new suit, but no dishwasher?

Anonymous

I came to this hoping that Huber would just amplify everyone's personal reactions to the film, but yeah, it felt like a few drowned him out with pre-loaded opinions from other critics. Even when I agreed, I didn't think many opinions were supported well. Too many dismissals and not enough discussion. But yeah, people process stuff differently. And maybe I've missed some of the Allies background conversations, and they didn't feel the need to retread old discussions among themselves.

Anonymous

Ian, if you read this please stop referring to things as "trash" and "garbage" instead offer constructive critique instead of completely writing something off rashly.

SpectR0nn

So am I the only one that thought that the Cap versus Cap fight was a nod to the Injustice and/or Mortal Kombat games? It's essentially two clone characters fighting eachother and they even start out on essentially a two dimensional plane with the walkway they were standing on.

Anonymous

Loves the spoiler mode! So I might have missed it, but did no one talk about the rat bringing back antman? That's sort of ridiculous. That's the 1 in 14 million chance that Dr.strange saw? Come on...

Anonymous

I think you are reaching a bit on that one. I like the idea, It's very cool, but it's pretty unlikely that's what they were going for.

Anonymous

Completely agree, that was my biggest nitpick too. It would be so much more believable to just have some kid who broke in or employee at the impound lot to be messing around in the car and start it up but a rat walking across a touch screen? Seriously?

Anonymous

I think one of the best examples that shows us just how strong Thanos is, in general, is the fact he can use the gauntlet without consequence for the most part. In Guardians they go into just how much it takes to control one pure stone on its own. It takes all the guardians including Quill who's half-celestial to hold/use the power stone. In this movie using the Gauntlet finger snap severely damages Hulks right arm and KILLS Tony. Thanos uses multiple stones throughout Infinity War with it having little effect on him. I think all the gauntlet does is allow the channeling of the different stones powers, I don't believe the Gauntlet itself is shielding the user from the power of the stones but I'm not entirely sure. It could just be that the Stark Tech gauntlet wasn't as efficient as the original, it's kind of speculation but you can at least see that Thanos has no problem holding Infinity Stones whereas it almost kills Quill who's half Celestial. It really shows you how strong and durable just normal old Thanos is.

Anonymous

Did you guys catch a ratchet and clank reference what Tony says to Rocket?

Anonymous

Maybe didnt catch it, but no mention of the "i am ironman" line?

Anonymous

Became a patreon just for this, but now I see all the exclusive stuff you got here and I got content lined up for weeks! L&R I shoud've done it earlier, but I'm kinda half broke so yea.

Anonymous

The complete misunderstanding of the time travel mechanics is a little frustrating.

Anonymous

Oh god negative nancy Ian just has to be in on the spoiler vids I want. Just became a patreon so I’m catching up on some good spoiler modes

Anonymous

Ian just comes off as a cocky douche bag. My only frames of reference are things like TLOU Part 2 spoiler vid and now this one and other snipets but he’s just a troll to troll. Saying he knew exactly what was going to happen in this movie just because contracts were up. Give me a break this guy didn’t even know how to follow the linear narrative in TLOU part 2, doubt he predicted anything correctly in endgame
