It's sad to see how many games still continue to include loot boxes. In Gears 4 it didn't reward the players anymore, and unlocking new characters was down to pure chance and expensive loot boxes. Also recently Trials Rising has been a mess with its unnecessary loot boxes.

Man Ben really went for the jugular on that review and I love it. MK11 is easily a 9 in every other aspect and it's such a shame that its loot grind and predatory monetization hold it back from being regarded as one of the best fighting games. Good job, Ben. Thanks for not pulling any punches.

Totally agree with Ben's points. MK11 totally deserves a drop in its review score with such an unrewarding, confusing, & grindy system. The game mechanics & story are great, but the total package is sullied by the grindy random chance loot boxes. I don't even mind microtransactions, but it is so much more rewarding to be working towards a known & fixed goal, than a chance to get a random item you could care less about.
