A little late with the audio upload this week - apologies. Getting prepped for the Community Showcase tomorrow. Between the great submissions there, and the wonderful questions from you all every week, I'm grateful to have so many fun conversation starters. Looking forward to having a chat about The Game Awards and PSX next week. To ask a question, submit it to the original (video) post for Cup of Jones.

I enjoyed your chat with Colin, there was some good insight. I do feel Colin did have some words of wisdom, especially with the studio, I felt Kinda Funny definitely lost something when it moved to the studio and hope the same doesn't happen here.

Question: How will the recently announced Patreon fee changes effect your bottom line?

I just received the patreon changes email. I currently am a $1/month pledge and that charge will become $1.38. EZA will receive $0.95 of that. Over 6 months that will be $8.28 charged, netting $5.70. If I instead stopped my monthly pledges and pledged $6 once every 6 months, I would only be charged $6.52 and EZA would get the same $5.70. Patreon will continue to batch charges across creators but take the fee as if they are individual charges. This is a sneaky attempt to make more money. If they need more money for operations they should transparently raise their 5% cut instead of trying to portray this as being processing charges.

On the one hand, what's 2,38 every six months. On the other hand, you're obviously right. I got the email and didn't quite get it, thought I'd leave it alone, but your comment made me open my eyes. The thing is, (even though I'm a low tier patron), does it matter to the EZA, as they aren't getting a clear view of their income (assuming more people, especially high amount patrons stop doing it as well)?

Where else can I crowdfund you? Have you considered other ways besides patreon? Paypal probably isn't the best way to take donations but I guess it's a starting place for the conversation of - how else can I financially contribute to the EZA payroll.

On their twitch page they've got a paypal donations link if you really want to give them money outside of patreon.
