Wrapping up the year, I dug back into shoots from the previous years that somehow never made it onto my Patreon.  I have pulled up some gems from 3 shoots and dropped them into the massive Archive folder for my $20 Tier patrons. If you are one of them, go look for these new sets in the Archive folder!

The first one includes 45 images of my friend Em.  Years ago when I lived on the West side of Los Angeles, I used to see her several times a week as she was a barista at my local coffee shop that I went to every morning to draw. She'd been following my photography work on Instagram and wanted to volunteer to model for me out in nature.  She asked if i would accept people who didn't have "perfect bodies".  I dunno - I think she looked pretty great nude... More importantly though, we went out hiking on a rainy, cold winter morning. not a single other person was on the trail, so we were able to shoot anywhere we wanted as a cold rain began to come down. On our way out of of Millard Canyon the rain picked up more and more (I included a little video from the end of the hike), till we were in a torrential downpour by the time we got to the car, and had to strip naked in the road and jump in to start drying off.  It ended up being one of the heaviest days of rain Los Angeles had seen in years.

Next is a set of 24 images with my dear friend Celia, who i have almost always shot outdoors, but in this particular day I really wanted to shoot her in her room with her dog, as they are such a cute pair together, and i think her room reveals so much about her aesthetic and interests. I think the pairing of her and her dog relating to one another with the decor of her bedroom gives such better idea of her personality than all the other shoots I have done with her combined.

The last is a set of 26 images of model Brissa, who asked to shoot with me had a really specific location in mind (actually only a few miles from where I shot Em).  I can't say that we really connected in the way I hope to with a model, where we just "get" each other's vision for the shoot, and the rapport flows easily to make the shoot fun, but this big tree she loved and wanted to shoot with really was a beauty of a tree, and paired well with the beauty of her ample curves...

As a new patron, where do I find the archive folder?

Dan Kitchens

I just sent through a message with the relevant link and passwords (Sorry for the delay - I didn't check my email yesterday! Doh.)
